Bravo… superb experience! The Drunken Noodles with chicken was among the best dishes I have ever tasted! Everything in it was fresh with perfectly balanced flavors and textures. My husband ordered the Chefs Fried Rice with chicken and enjoyed it very much… again very hot, fresh, and flavorful. Also, the value was awesome; leftovers were enough for another full meal. The service and atmosphere were perfect, very cozy and comfortable. Looking forward to trying more!

I have never seen a worst service than from this restaurant. I ordered the papaya salad and ask the waiter if there was any fish oil or any sort of meat in it and she says she doesn’t know and doesn’t think so. She does not ask and I told her I’m a vegetarian and that I do not eat any meat at all(not even fish). I get it and OFCOURSE there is fish in it. You can smell it when she places it but my kid already took a little piece and had to spit it out. She then has the audacity to charge me for this 10.00 plate and I told her that I did not even eat it because I sent it back. She says, «You touched it so we can’t use it again»…do they re-sell their food or something? I told her it is not fair to the costumer to charge them for something they did not want and you did not even ask. The manager’s daughter is just standing there refusing to do anything about it. I ended up paying for it and left. IF you really want a nice Thai place just drive down the street to Emerald because their food is so great and so if their service. This place is not good at all.

I’ve been to quite a few Thai places in TN and other states as well and I can honestly say none can compare to this hidden gem. I think because Thai Basil looks so homey on the inside, the chefs and owner put so much effort and quality into their food. My PERSONAL favorites are the beef pad Thai– ALWAYS comes out hot and enough for 2 – 4 people to share, the beef lab– the seasoning on this dish is no joke, & the Chicken wings– you won’t find a flavor like this anywhere else. They serve you a lot more than what you pay for and the dishes never go below my expectations. I heard they were closing but I hope that never comes true. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!!

Some of the worst pad Thai I have ever had. The fresh spring rolls weren’t great either. The shrimp tastes fishy. My son had the chicken satay which was decent.

Family owned restaurant and very nice people! My husband loves the basil fried rice. They do however charge an extra $ 3 – 5 for combination fried rice. I’ve had their beef and pork pad Thai which are really good. The portions are huge! My kids love that they serve the chicken nuggets and fries in a ‘boat’ platter. Their Tom kha soup and fried egg rolls are delicious as well. Great food and quiet atmosphere. Don’t go in expecting a fancy place. Highly recommend!

Very authentic food. 5 stars for the food all the way. I had plenty of Thai food, and this food was outstanding. I ordered drunken noodle and red curry. Yummy in my tummy. Don’t go for the atmosphere or service. The food is the star.

Favorite go to restaurant for Thai food in Memphis! Tried them all Bangkok is very Americanized Thai food to me. I drive 30 minutes just to go to Thai basil. I love the papaya salad and beef salad very spicy! The chicken wings are awesome and don’t forget about the chicken eggrolls. Who cares about décor when they have great food, not me. The servers are nice, they know my family and what we like to eat already and they love playing with my niece and lets her run free lol #1 choice for Thai food coming from a Thai girl :)

Yum! Some of best Thai food around. I’ve been here several times and I’ve been trying different things. It’s always good! It’s a quiet little hidden spot but a gem! Maybe not the best décor or atmosphere around but you’re there for the food right?

The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The spring rolls were beyond what I expected in size and flavor. The main dish was delightful to view and taste. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service and staff was excellent. Such friendly people sharing their cooking talents with the Bartlett area!

The food tasted like fast food Chinese, but took eight times as long. Our dishes all arrived at different times. Nothing on the table matched, from the flatware to the bowls and dishes — even the salt and pepper shakers were different. There was a gnat that joined us for our meal while a weird creepy zombie show played on the flat screen TV on the wall. I wouldn’t recommend eating here. Move along.

This is probably my favorite thai place in the city or at least in the top two. The drunken noodles are amazing, with just enough heat for me and loaded with chicken and fresh vegetables. The Tom yum soup is outstanding with a ton of mushrooms and the perfect amount of lemongrass. The location isn’t great… but once you try Thai Basil, I don’t think you will mind the drive.

We’ve been here twice in one week. I was really pleasantly surprised. The food was really good. My parents hadn’t been so we ordered a lot of different stuff and did family style. Basil Fried Rice Beef, Pad Thai Gai(Chicken), Tom Ka Gai soup, Massamon Curry Gai, and some other things, then went back and did the lunch special. The food was really good, and fresh. I’ve been to Thai all over and mainly in Seattle and it was really really good. We’ll be back for sure next chance we get. The staff is really friendly too and helpful. Hope this helps :)

Our first visit and we ordered way too much food but I wanted to try so many menu options. For appetizers we chose Golden Prawns. Large shrimp wrapped in rice paper, deep fried and served with a lemon dipping sauce. Loved the crispy exterior wrap and the tender shrimp inside. The dipping sauce was good but I would have preferred something a little more bold. Bangkok Stuffed Chicken wings. What a surprise! Wings deboned and stuffed with the wing meat, pork, rice, water chestnuts and more. I was expecting something along the size of your normal wing but these are more akin to a small football. They are a meat lovers delight and filled with savory flavor. Papaya Salad was delicious but should be served with lettuce leaves large enough to make a wrap. The lettuce was sliced too small to do this. My only complaint. I will make note of this my next visit. Yellow Curry with Chicken, a soup dish served with white rice. The broth was beyond delicious, the chicken and vegetables perfectly cooked. My dining companion had Pad Thai as her entrée. She described it as very good and from the small sample I had I would agree. Our server was a bit timid but friendly enough and helpful in describing the menu. I will return to sample other menu items

Solid. That’s the best way I can describe it. The food is good for Asian take-out, the service is fine, the prices are pretty good. If you want Thai and you’re in the area, it’s a pretty good option. They do some odd things, like put jalapeño peppers in the drunken noodle, but overall the taste is pretty good for takeout food. I like Bangkok Alley better, but Thai Basil is a good option if you’re in Bartlett.

The only reason that I tried this place is because of the reviews. I’ve come to the conclusion that Bartlett people have a horrible taste in food. The food was barely even edible. The Pad Thai was made with canned tomatoes and the beef tasted like cheap cheesesteak beef. The Yellow Curry was overly sweet and very very soupy. The potatoes were undercooked. The service was ok… Except for the waitresses taking selfies the whole time. My advice. Skip it and go to Bangkok Alley. A little more expensive but definitely worth it.

I really didn’t know where to go today to eat. I spent a few hours today in the library being irritated by all the noise and excess people and I started to get hungry. Being that this is in a fairly decent area I knew the Thai food had to be up to standards. Sometimes they cut corners when they see some people aren’t so hip to fine Thai cuisne. Not saying Thai Basil does this but living in L. A they tend to turn up the grease factor in more ethnic neighborhoods and cut corners anyway they can. This was a nice restaurant. It had a very feminine décor with pink sofa dining seats. Clean and friendly as most Thai restaurants are and the food was very satisfying. I had the Vegy Phở that came with carrots and broccoli and bok choy. I think it also had lemon grass in it. After I hooked up the broth with Scracha, Hoisin and soy sauce I was very pleased! The Veggy Phở was about $ 8 and it was well worth it. I wish I could have saved the broth for later. I ordered the Veggy fried rice to go. Extremely large portions and also tasted very good once I added some broth from my phở. All together with the Jasmine tea included I paid under $ 20.Not the world’s cheapest but at least ill have rice to eat for tomorrow that’ll be something I enjoy. 5 stars and above until further notice!

This is definitely my top pick for yummy authentic Thai food for the area. I love everything from papaya salad to the curries. My only complaint with the food is the pad thai is made a little too sweet to the taste every time I tried it. Good service. Wish the environment wasn’t so loud with colors of oranges and pinks on the walls and chairs. But I guess the food is more important than environment at times. Other than that, it’s a pretty good place!

Wow pretty good food i must say My friends and i ventured out on a rainy saturday night. we were all hungry and wanted to try something new and had heard Thai Basil had just opened. Located right behind the Dixie Café where the old Mandarin Palace used to be. As you enter the restaurant you are greeted by the front counter with a few ladies that can help place your order to go or help you with seating. I think this place can seat up to 60+ We had the basil fried rice, Papaya salad, beef lard nah, chicken wing tossed with onions, jalapeño n garlic and pad see ew. Everything was served pretty quick with just enough flavor. My favorites are the chicken wings with that slight salt n pepper with a kick of jalapeño, the basil fried rice and the beef lard nah or raad nah as they call it. I’ve been back here twice in the past 3 days, both for a late lunch and dinner and i’ve become hooked. I haven’t been disappointed yet and vow to come back to try something different on the menu. Thumbs up for opening a Thai place in the Bartlett area.

My boyfriend and I went to Thai Basil for dinner at about 5:00 on a Sunday. There was one other table there when we arrived but they left right after we sat down and the other people that came in sat down right before we left. So for most of the time we were the only table and therefore service was great. My boyfriend ordered some Phở Soup w/beef. It was good and had a delicious broth. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao(Drunken noodle) w/beef. It was delicious! There are some spicy sauces for your meal on every table. They do serve Thai beer and domestic beer although I did not partake. I will be making a return visit and I hope they do a good business. Give this place a try if you’re in the mood for something different!
