It’s quite a lovely experience to visit the Crossen Christmas Tree Farm. It’s well run, with lots of friendly helpers and high-quality wreaths for purchase. They let you borrow a hand saw to cut your tree and there are even cool tree-sleds to haul the tree from the farm to the parking lot area. If you are SET on cutting your own perfectly shaped and fairly large tree, you might be disappointed. The selection of cut-your-own tree is presently quite limited, as the trees are not full and mature. But you might just find the perfect tree for your family! We did from the pre-cut variety — although that is never quite the same as a freshly cut one — after traipsing happily through the rows and rows of trees. That family time alone was worth the trip; it’s fun to walk around with loved ones and/or dog in the great outdoors. The fellows help you hoist the sucker into the tree Houdini(that machine that twirls your Christmas tree with a netting to keep its limbs from fluffing out and falling off your car roof on the way home) and even offer to cut a hunk off the trunk for you. They also assist you as needed with getting the tree on top of your car. A nice feature of Crossen Christmas Tree Farm is the warm shed-like shop that offers reasonably priced Christmas accessories(lights, ornaments, «stuff»), Santa(if he’s available that day), hot chocolate(free, help yourself) and a ton of wreaths that hang from the walls outside. Beauteous, freshly handmade wreaths, very reasonably priced. Each was decorated a little differently than the next — festive ribbon, tasteful baubles, bows — and unique, a great gift for someone or to hang at your home. It’s a very positive experience visiting the Crossen Christmas Tree Farm, I highly recommend it. But if you are SET on cutting your own perfectly shaped and fairly large tree, you might just come for the visit, and buy only a wreath or two here.
