Wonderful service, I was checked on and informed about their products. But I bought a cookie and when I got home discovered it had expired in 2015. I went back to exchange it for a diffrent one and saw that the entire shelf of cookies similar to mine had expired 2014 – 2015. I was given one that was not yet expired. I received a txt from them thanking me for letting get know and that she’d not only exchange my cookie but give me a refund.

Very interesting place. Great selection of candies from different eras and from today. Sooooo many different choices on knick knacks, gadgets and clothes. My one and only complaint would be that I bought some candies for my son and nephew and when they ate them, they were hard as a rock and could not be eaten.

I made my boyfriend pull over just so I can tell my friends that my boyfriend took me to the sugar shack. ;) PLUS, I was in dire need of some sweets after tubing down the Colorado River. Staff was friendly and greeted us when we walked in! They have Bluebell Ice cream and home made fudge and candy??? SOLD!

Two stars for the hair that was IN the icing of my cupcake. wear a hair net dammit. Service. …Well, counter folks acted as if they would rather be somewhere else. Definitely a tourist trap. cupcake tasted Ok, was all about the icing that was piled on too much. There is a place in the historic district of Bastrop that has much better cupcakes. Sorry. The hair in the icing really turned me off. No excuse.

This place is Ahhhdorable. They have ice cream, fudge and then a great variety of old candy, not old as in expired, old as in old fashioned. Candy cigarettes for crying out loud, I love those things! The young guy that was working there was pretty funny. I loved this little place. I seriously spent $ 50 on Godknowswhat, but had fun doing it.

It is my belief that every small town in Texas has some sort of shop that sells candy or sweet confections of some kind and the word«sugar» in the name of the business. Sugar Shack should never get a bad review unless someone walks in and they refuse to sell them sugar-ey goodness. The Shack has a great selection of anything sweet you could imagine– my attention centered on the case you are faced with as you walk in the door. It is full of many types of fudge, as well as chocolate covered or dipped items. I bought an oreo and several other things that had been dipped in delicious chocolate. My girlfriend got some different types of fudge like lemon. I picked out a couple packets of sixlets which I’ve missed dearly and opted for a chocolate shake which was made with blue bell(this is Texas after all). This is not their fault but I sort of hated myself after having the shake. We had eaten about an hour before stopping here and I should not have had the shake. It was so good though, so I don’t regret anything I’ve done.

We were just there today and I was impressed! The variety of stuff they have in there is interesting, plus the fudge, cookies, sweets, etc. are amazing. The girl who helped us was very nice and let us taste a bunch of different fudges before we chose what we wanted. Overall we thought it was nice and not as expensive as it could’ve been. I’d recommend anyone to check it out.

The *other* Hill Country Sugar Shack… When you see the word«FUDGE», it’s like some kind of magnet. You know you gotta stop. Candies… cookies…cakes…Dublin Dr Pepper! This place is paradise for those looking for their sugar rush. And a neat little deck out back, too! Not only goodies, but gifts, in a place as colorful as a carnival. We had a caramel apple, some white fudge, and some coconut cookies, and washed ‘em down with a Dr Pepper(the real thing) and a(gourmet) cream soda, out back under an umbrella at one of the table on the deck. Like I said… paradise!

First, I have to say that their key lime truffles are OFFTHEHOOK! Yes, I said it! The last time I only bought one since I’m usually not a truffle(or fudge) person and I made the mistake of waiting until I got back home to eat it. I am in love… It was easy to get lost in this place — not that it was huge but lost in my thoughts — there was just there was so much to look at… a lot of childhood memories came up in my mind because of some of their candies and toys. I even bought an ex-husband voodoo doll! LMBO Too funny — it has a special spot at my computer desk now. And when the ex gets on my nerves, I turn to that little black doll and pin away! :P All in all, it’s a neat stopover when in town!

Cute place off the highway. Great selection of housemade chocolates(truffles, dipped twinkies, strawberries), ice-cream, old fashion candy bars, candles, etc. The place is an old house that has been converted so it’s a tad on the old/musty side when walking in. The service was great though and it’s a fun place to browse around on a sunday.

Love this place. Not only do they have candy(and ice cream, and rare sodas, and home-made goodies) they also have random gifty things. There’s a secret closet, even, that has naughty gifts, they have tons of stuff that any lady in your family would like. Candles, mugs, jewelry, books, photo frames, …I can’t even remember it all. It’s just a fun place you have to go and see. The first time I went in there, I spent over an hour just looking around at everything.(And it’s not a very big store, they just have a lot of stuff.) A lot of times, there is stuff in there that you don’t find anywhere else.
