As a follow up to my review about my microphone stand issue.
I received a note from Peter Hix and he told me my microphone stand had finally been fixed. I respect that he followed through and was able to complete the task of getting the manufacturer to honor their warranty. It took 5 months but he did it.

I bought my guitar here and got a really good price. I love how they are basically a mini version of Guitar Center and I don’t need to drive 45 minutes to get there. Hix Bros prices are more than fair and they are willing to negotiate as well.
I started playing only a few months ago and hired one of their guitar teachers as well. I have been taking lessons weekly. So far so good and I am pretty happy with my experience.
The reason why I gave 4 stars is because when you walk in the store the staff doesn’t just up to greet you right away. Often times I have been there a minute or two before anyone even comes over despite that they are seemingly not helping any other customer at the time.

I really hate writing this review. As a matter of fact, I am an advocate at supporting the community and local music stores where possible but Hix has finally let me down… again I have placed my second order from Hix for guitar and amp accessories and they never seem to be able to get the order in time to me. As of this writing it has been 3 weeks and counting. I call up the vendor myself and they ship it out to me right away. Ho hum… poor Hix in Batavia, what has happened to you. Your customer service has gone down within the last 2 years and I was such an avid customer for the past 20+ years. Get this… even Guitar Center told me they could get the part out to me the next day. Bye bye local Hix, another customer is gone and the big store (s) are coming through… again

I have been going to Hix Bro’s for about the last 17 years, Great family run store! Peter and Andrew have always been extremely helpful in getting me any gear I have ever needed. I also took lessons for about 4 years in total and found there instructors to be very knowledgable as well! There guitar tech Bill at the Batavia location is by far one of the best there is for guitar repair or set-up’s. Highly recommend going through Hix Bros where you are treated more like family then a big box store where they basically just want your money then actually helping you!

Support your local music store! Yes, there are mega-​stores for guitars, like Sam Ash and Guitar Center, but Hix is the real deal! Try to get out of here without someone asking you about your music interests. Buy guitar strings, they’ll ask you what kind of guitar you have, look at an amp and they;ll ask what kind of music you like. Heck, buy a guitar strap for a kid’s guitar and they’ll tell you about lessons.
The prices are competitive, the service personal. What’s not to like?
