My trusted shop was booked and Pep Boys had a coupon for oil change & rotation so I tried them out. They took about 45 minutes which is OK. I’d been putting off front brakes, my regular shop had told me 3 mm, then 2 mm left on pads during prior visits. I expected a sales pitch but Pep Boys said nothing.
If they rotated the tires, how could they not notice the brakes needing service? Either the tires didn’t get rotated or the kid assigned to do it was so young he didn’t notice my brakes. Either is bad, but they took 45 minutes so I bet it’s the later. If you get a tire rotation here, mark your tires first just in case it’s the former.
Go someplace where the mechanics have enough experience to keep your car safe to drive.
