Stopped in with a client for lunch while in the area with typical Tex-Mex fare. Décor was a bit dated and the fixtures were somewhat beat up but the staff was friendly. Your standard chips and salsa were brought out which were fresh. I went with the Burrito Verde which was a flour tortilla filled with a pulled pork-like mixture that I asked to have made spicy but the green sauce came out kind of mild. A liberal dousing of the tableside hot sauce made it better. The pork was flavorful and moist. It also came topped with onions and a small amount of cheese which was thankfully not overpowering as it sometimes is. It was also accompanied by your obligatory refried beans and rice. Prices were very reosnable.

Authentic and very good. Its always busy here so sometimes service will slowdown, but they will come by to check on you. Food comes out fast and you leave stuffed.

Food was tasty. Huge portions. More than any normal person could eat. Raspberry margarita was delicious. Xangas dessert was amazing as well.

As one of the few places in Batavia with good vegan options, my wife and I come here a lot. The veggie fajitas with no cheese is really good and keeps us coming back. Would love a couple more options as well to round out the menu.

What a hidden gem. Who knew there would be an authentic Mexican restaurant hidden away in Batavia! Thank you Unilocal for helping me find it! I am always reluctant to try Mexican restaurants this far away from the border but I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is very clean and brightly decorated. The staff members are very polite and welcoming. Upon placing your order, they bring out freshly cooked Tortilla chips and homemade salsa. The food was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back soon. Olé!

Me and a coworker stopped here to get a couple of burritos for lunch. Phenomenal! It was smothered in the best cheese and burrito sauce. Each of our meals only cost about 7.50 and we were decently filled up. Good staff. Would defiantly do the lunch special again

I’m slightly impartial due to the fact that I don’t LOVE authentic mexican food but this wasn’t bad at all! I didn’t really know what half of it was on the menu but I still gave the burritos a shot. The chips and salsa was very good and the service was also great. They sang to my friend for her birthday and it was pretty cool with the sombrero and what not! Would definitely recommend.

Been going to this restaurant since it opened in 2011. The service is always great, and they are quick to attend to every need. Staff is friendly and food is good. The extensive menu caters to a variety of dietary needs, with many vegetarian options, but I don’t recommend it if you’re a vegan(unless you like lots of guacamole azteca and rice like I do — YUM!). All in all, a great place with a warm atmosphere.

We went tonight, and I wasn’t looking forward to it since I didn’t like the Spencerport location. I got the Molcajete(Volcanic Plate) with steak and it was amazing! Everything was fresh, and tasted wonderful. I only took 1 star off because the salsa tasted like it was made from tomato sauce or pasta/pizza sauce, and our waiter was forgetful of additional glasses of water and such. All in all, this meal alone was worth the stop. Everything else looked standard fair for a typical Tex/Mex style place.

Clean, decent prices. I got chorizo taco’s as usual when I get Mexican. They were really small but delicious. Would go back again when passing through Batavia…

Rancho Viejo was a spare of the moment stop since they where open for the 4th of July and let me say what a pleasant surprise this turned out to be! The service here is fast and excellent and your greeted with chips and salsa before you place your order which is always a bonus in my book! I ordered the combo which gives you 2 plates of variety which is usually what I get to try a all of the different dishes when I opt for a tex mex dinner. The dinner itself was surprisingly good! The burritos where soft and tasty with just the right about of sauce and cheese to cover! The beans and rice where tasty as well as the tacos and rellanos! I’d definitely order this again for sure! We also ordered a picture of strawberry daquaris which I usually only seem to have in south Florida, but wow they where awesome and not skimpy at all on the booze! I’d definitely stop on back if I’m out in the Batavia area for sure!

«Rancho V.A. Ho» is where the girl that goes from V.A. Hospital to V.A. Hospital«satisfying» the bed-ridden heroes, lives. I’m not sure why she calls it her Rancho, because she’s actually Swiss. What to get: Jarritos drinks, lunch specials with added Chorizo. Anyway, come on Batavia! What’s with all the negativity about the best Mexican place in your town? Okay, it may not be on the level of Medina’s offerings(omg Mariachi, omg Monte Alban, omg!), but it’s actually really good! It’s not authentic Mexican like Valle and Mariachi are(in part), but it’s still really delicious! I don’t know how you guys can love Center St Smokehouse etc, and diss this place.(shrug) Just don’t think of it as Mexican. Think of it as Tex Mex(which is what it is) and maybe you’ll enjoy it more. It’s excellent Tex Mex if you ask me(and nobody did but here I am anyway). This is not the only location… there’s one in Spencerport, and one in Clarence near Buffalo… and both of which seem a lot more popular than this location, which is actually the fanciest and grandest and glitziest, with a big bar and a big lot and a big space for good times and good noms. I highly recommend any of the lunch specials, they all taste great. Add chorizo to your meal for a real treat. It’s not the amazing authentic Mexican that I love, but they’re really making an effort here and if you don’t know the difference, you’ll like this place. They do have authentic Jarritos, so that’s something. Try the Mandarin and the Lima and the Tamarindo. If you need more help than that — get a steak and chicken burrito — ask for it extra spicy and stuffed and smothered with sauce and salsa… and with chorizo inside. Thank me later. By the way, «El Ranchito» is the Clarence location, and is wildly popular. The name basically means, a mini version of this one. So come on Batavia, give the V.A. Ho some love like so many older men have done for small financial donations(and not the only thing about those transactions that was small, let me tell you). Now can we make out?

Good portions, VERY average mexican food. It’s not bad, but nothing noteworthy either. Prices are pretty cheap. If you’ve looking for a safe decent meal to fill up, it’s a fair option, if you’re looking for some exceptional Mexican food, probably not going to happen. I have eaten at this restaurant, probably at least 6 times.

I think the food was pretty bland. Like a previous reviewer said, I think the food was microwaved because it came out so fast.

Came here for lunch a few times. Lunch specials are under $ 7, they usually have a taco salad ot another special for $ 5. Super fast service, the managers are awesome they always make sure everything is perfect. My only complaint is that the mexican rice is a bit soggy. Chips and salsa are excellent. Love it here.

We had an awesome burrito, quesadilla and fajita. The taco salad was a little plain and the service was challenged to understand our order, but we will be going back for the food!

My son and i love Mexican fare so thought we would try it out. When we walked in we felt we were in an old Ponderosa steak house and we were. We orderd some dishes that should have taken some time to prepare, we got them in 5 mins. The food tasted like it was made frozen then heated in microwave. definitly not worth the money.
