We are from New York but have family in this town. Went to Toros around six last night Friday to order food for takeout. Greeted quickly and given a table to sit and make our choices from the menu plus served us water. Ordered 2 types of enchiladas and pineapple chicken along with chips and salsa. Food was ready in 15 min and all of us thought it was delicious. We usually come here when in town and will continue to come back!

The Toros is a good choice if you are in the mood for Tex-Mex(American Mexican food.) I usually have the shrimp chimichanga and find that asking for mild salsa to mix with the spicier salsa they automatically bring never seems to be a problem. We are well-aquainted with the staff, and always find the service efficient and friendly.

The food wasn’t very good and the service was terrible! We waited for 15 minutes just to have someone get is drinks, and then getting a refill was not happening! When the food finally did come it was dry and looked like it was just thrown on the plate! Don’t waste your time going here!

The Toros has been good to us each time we’ve been here! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff — an all around good experience! I love the tacos on corn tortillas with the hot and spicy salsa verde. I’ve tried the beef and the fish tacos, and they are both very good.

Stopped while thriving thru Indiana. Their restrooms are very nice. Decent Mexican food. I’m from San Diego and frequent Mexico often and know across the border cuisine so I might be partial to the authentic Mexican. This was good too.

We were a little hesitant to try it, we were just passing through and needed a place to grab lunch. But we went in, it was about half full and we were seated immediately. The chips and salsa were OK. The food was standard, I got a combo and both the burrito and the chile were decent. the re-fried beans and rice were fine and the gauc needed a little more seasoning but it tasted fresh. Overall, it was a cheap, quick meal and we were satisfied. Overall, not mind blowing, but not terrible and not bad even. I would eat there again.

Good food, friendly staff, clean place, never once had a problem. Traditional Mexican menu. An enjoyable stop on the weekly lunch rotation!

In spite of the bad reviews, we decided to give The Toros a try. We were tired after a VERY long day, we hungry, and wanted to try something convenient, so we dropped in. We were very pleasantly surprised! My wife had fish tacos, and proclaimed them among the best she’s ever had. I had the Fiesta Nachos, and, my, oh my, they were awesome. Very generous serving of steak, chicken, and a LOT of shrimp. For 10 bucks, give or take a few cents, these nachos were a bargain! The service was just a touch slow, but it WAS6PM on a Saturday night and they were absolutely slammed, so I’ll give ‘em a bit of a pass on that. All in all, a VERY positive experience. We will certainly be back.

The Toros used to be Acapulco Mexican Restaurant #6. New name, same great people and food. Unlike the two others, I have always found the food and staff great! I have always gotten quick service and the proprietor has always inquired if everything was good or not. I’ve traveled the world and across this country. When I want a really good US Mexican food restaurant, I want to go to the Toros. My favorite is the CHIMICHANGASPOLLO. Their Choriqueso is great; chopped tomatoes and onions make it better than the commonly seen chunky string onions in Choriqueso at other places! Great Margheritas and a pretty good selection of Reposado Tequilas for a po-dunk-holler So. IN town. All menu items, liquor, and beer is really affordable. For you sports-dweebs, TV’s are there to follow your must-have game, but they are on mute with cc for the rest of us who don’t want to be in a sports bar environment. If you want an authentic Mexican restaurant with an authentic Mexican atmosphere with an authentic Mexican menu and authentic, kind, and hospitable staff who may have had the odd off-day; this is your place. If you whine and complain because you aren’t a pretty-pretty princess, keep on going. The rest of us who appreciate Juan and his staff will have an even better time!

I begged my boyfriend for Mexican food this weekend and ended up being embarrassed that I had even suggested coming here. We’ve been once, a few months ago, with a group of 5 and didn’t have as many issues… unfortunately that was not the case this past visit. We got there just before 6 on a Saturday, but didn’t have to wait for a table. A table of 8 was being seated at the same time and there were several other tables of 8+ in the restaurant. We were seated in the very back by the restrooms, which was our first problem — not being in the path of the waiter. He was visibly annoyed when we weren’t ready to order right away, or the second time(two minutes later) and so he waited another 10 – 15 minutes before we were able to make our dinner order. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. The table behind us was ordering as we sat down, and received their food maybe 10 minutes later. The table of 8 that we walked in with left before we received our food. The waiter came near our table but never checked on us. Finally, after waiting 50 minutes, we had to ask the hostess to send our waiter by, and I watched her walk over to him and tell him that we didn’t have our food, and he STILL never came by — it was the manager who eventually brought our food. Instead of offering a discount or some serious apology, he said, «I’m sorry, we’re too busy tonight.» That is the most ridiculous excuse I’ve ever heard — isn’t that the point of having a restaurant? The plates were scalding hot, and it was obvious they had been sitting under heat lamps for the past 45 minutes plus. My boyfriend has really warmed up to tacos over the last year, but described these as «The worst tacos I have ever had,» and I didn’t have much to say about my enchiladas verdes — we were just starving and had to eat it anyway. It was cheap, which is the best part, but yet again the bill was something we had to ask the hostess for. I know people will still come here since it’s the only Mexican place in Batesville, but I know I won’t make it a priority when I’m in town.

Got into town late. Only thing open on a Monday night at 9:00 other than McDonald’s. Located in a strip mall and I didn’t have high expectations. I got the enchiladas and they weren’t that good. The ones out of a can are better. Wife got the taco salad. It was just ok. Ordered a top shelf margarita to be on the safe side. Had the choice of medium or large. I ordered large but should have stuck with medium. It was huge and the most disgusting margarita I ever had. It was bright green, way too sweet, and not enough ice. The only good thing was the bill was fairly cheap even with the $ 15 margarita’s. I would go back but stick to cold beer and something simple to make.
