I am giving this place One star which the bartender can take credit for because the Bloody Mary is Hella Good! BUT the service from our older brown messy haired waitress was awful! My Nachos had no cheese on them and when I asked for my cheese and a to go box from her she rolled her eyes in disgust. I am not impressed and I used to like this place.

In the historic Bath, Me. Byrne’s has a full bar, great food, and people. I always order the nachos, with a pint of shipyard.

At 5:45 on a Saturday night, my husband and I were driving around downtown Bath looking for a coffee shop or some other place to kill some time. We were quite astounded to find very few places open. We stopped in to Byrnes’ Irish Pub simply because it was open and looked like a place to get some dessert and coffee. It seemed to be filled with locals but in a friendly and fine way. We sat in a corner table and read through the menu, the specials and their calendar of events. This is one busy place! There appears to be live music, open mic nights and Irish sing-alongs! I noticed they serve a special«Irish Brunch» on Sundays and wished I lived close enough to check this out! My husband ordered the«Nutty Irishman», a hot coffee with Jamesons, Amaretto and whipped cream. He LOVED it! I ordered a regular coffee and a bread pudding to share. The bread pudding was recommended by the waitress. My husband loved it but I found it to be a small serving, especially when shared by two people, SO we also ordered the Cherry Garcia cheesecake, which was tasty AND abundant! We did not try any of the food, although the menu is expansive. I would definitely come back in the future, if I were in Bath and looking to kill some time, although I would urge business owners in Bath to consider staying open until at least 7pm on a Saturday night!

Love this place. Great atmosphere. Service is always quick. The food is average. Got a blt last time. The bread was huge. More bread then meat and veggies. But the beer was cold

This is great as a bar. They have the important brands like Guinness and harp. Was even able to get a cider on tap which if you’ve read my other reviews is important to me. My criticism is we are in Maine with abundant sea food and there is no authentic fish and chips. No fish and chips at all. Had the bangers and mash. Not bad but not what I was really looking for. Minion had the shepherds pie. I honestly can’t remember if it was true shepherds pie(lamb) or cottage pie in disguise(beef). I had a bite and it was good but cheese on top is not traditionally Irish that I am aware of. Granted they asked cheese or no cheese.

This is my local hangout, I love the atmosphere and have never had a bad time. Also…if you are adventurous, try the Cashemole — mmmm

Came on open mic night. Definitely a local spot filled with regulars. It had a fun Irish bar vibe. I wasn’t a huge fan of the music or most of it anyway. Seems to be a fun bar to drink at. It was an older crowd but I think it could range on a regular basis. Food was okay. We had the nachos, clam chowder and French onion soup. Didn’t love the smell but I guess it’s typical of a pub. The service was friendly and attentive.

The people in Bath who do the Karaōke are phenomenal(for here, not so much the 737). Really enjoyed my evening here!

We enjoyed a hearty and satisfying meal. I vote for a future replay on the bangers and mash. The whole dish was prefect, including the cabbage. Oh, and the bread– yum! The Sheppard’s Pie was tasty, but a tad quirky and remained overshadowed by our other dish. The only drawbacks were that our table was so crooked, we had to hold on to our drinks to avoid their demise and we left stinking of fryer grease. This place was packed for lunch by local businesses people, so my guess is we are not their only fans.

A pleasant surprise in Bath. Great lunch and beer. Enjoyed a decent hot pastrami and cup of chowder.

I am a frequent Midcoast Maine visitor and have been to Byrnes several times. Service is always friendly and strong, the food is decent, and drinks are plentiful and delivered quickly. A friend and I walked in last night around 10:30p, aka closing time on a Sunday night in Maine, and the bartender graciously stayed open to grant us a couple of pints of Guinness. I know what it feels like to want to leave at closing time after working a full shift and appreciated the friendly banter and good pour. My only Byrnes critique: in the past I’ve noticed a lot of Notre Dame kitsch on the walls. If the owner is an alum, that’s understandable. If not, how about supporting New England’s only real top level college football team, the very Irish rooted Boston College Eagles?

Great potato skins — I’m a big fan haha! Karaōke night was kinda ‘meh’. Probably won’t go back for that even though I love me some karaōke. Food is great though!

Had the tayto skins and the pickle chips – both were delish. The mac & cheese with a banger was really good. Hot, cheesy with a crispy top. The bread pudding was fab. ONLY downside was the super annoying mid 50ish woman who was seated at the bar, telling everybody how she wasnt in college anymore but then acting like a drunken college girl. Food and service were both great.

Reuben was so good and and so was the guacamole dip! Macaroni was alright but not necessarily the best ever. Bread pudding was a little dry. Service was friendly. Prices pretty decent. One man band was good. We went around 7 pm. Looked like a cool spot to hang out and have some beers, too.

Had a few drinks. Loved the atmosphere. We didn’t have any food. Bathrooms were clean. Mens bathroom light didn’t work and the service was a little slow. Will definitely go back for the full experience!

Delicious! I ordered the Irish potato skins with a side of beef chili(gluten free!). My husband got the Ruben which he said was very good but not the best he’s ever had. The nutty Irishman coffee was great! Interested décor. They have an Irish American sing along on Sundays!

The Reuben sandwich here is stellar! It was piled high with kraut and corned beef. Almost couldn’t eat all of it, but I did because I was starving. The service was good even when they were super busy, AND they had kareoke!
