My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night because we had a wedding nearby and didn’t feel like driving back to NOLA afterwards. Plus we thought it’d be nice to have a mini-mini-vacation(yes I know I used 2 ‘mini’s’). Anyway, I emailed the proprietress(Dana) using the email address on the website and had a response within a couple hours. She had room and put me down for the one night. Upon arriving, we walked in the front door and she was walking through the next room on the phone, but immediately stopped her conversation to greet us, help with our bags, and show us to our room. Once we got everything into our room, we went back downstairs where we met her husband and got a tour of the grounds. The place was beautiful. It was all relatively new, but built using re-purposed bricks, wooden beams, doors, windows, and fixtures from New Orleans and St. Louis. They had a decently sized vegetable garden and several fruit trees/bushes. There is a bayou running along the back of the property, but there is a gaming fence up to prevent deer from coming in and eating the vegetation. Dana was incredibly friendly and eager to please. She was ready with recommendations for anything and everything(even though we didn’t need them). Her recommendations were very helpful for the other couple staying there, as they were from Canada and were obviously not familiar with the area. Sadly, Dana informed us that this was the final week of operation for the B&B, as they decided to devote more time to family and travel. But we were more than happy with our stay and I’d recommend this place to anyone if only it weren’t closing. If Dana decides to open another B&B in the future, I think she’d do very well. We paid $ 110 for our room and breakfast, tax included. I thought this was a great deal, better than any hotel. Our only issue was that we found the bed to be too firm for our liking, and didn’t sleep well because of it. Also, the whole idea of staying in a stranger’s house was new to us, and a little odd. But besides that, we enjoyed the overall experience very much.
