Very nice little taqueria! Pleasant help, good food. Tostadas and tacos are both excellent. It’s not easy to find the first time.

The best Mexican food I have had in a long time! I would come here again! Recommend the carne asada.

We are California-Mexicans living in New Orleans. We will drive the hour to eat here as often as possible. The chicharrón is the TRUTH. The only thing missing is beer, but I’ll live.

Nom Nom NOM! Really, really good! Had three tacos; chicken, carne, and beef. Chicken was by far the spiciest of the three, but all three were really good. The sauce they give you in the bottles are spicy, so if you need/want a kick, go for it. The girl that took our order was very friendly and the food came out really fast. Very reasonably priced, as well. If in area, will definitely go back.

Maybe I was there on an off day, but the food was only okay. The chips were stale and the salsa is nothing to write home about. If this is the«most authentic» Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge, then I’m pretty sad about that. The hostess was on Facebook at the counter, which was weird. It’s not a great atmosphere, nor do they serve alcoholic beverages. That’s a bummer bc a frosty Dos Equis or margarita is always nice with spicy food.

The sauces here are wonderful. My favorite was was the green tomatillo sauce. Just the right amount of spice and heat. The tacos and quesadilla were loaded with flavor and fresh ingredients. I didn’t care for the beans, and the salad was ok. For those of you seeking an authentic tasting and setting look no further than this place. Small but functional with good service. Highly recommended.

Finally! The best shredded beef tacos I’ve found since leaving Arizona! Delicious, authentic tacos. Yum! I only gave 4 stars because the chips were not homemade. But, who needs chips when you’ve found the taco of your childhood memories?

We went here yesterday and I must say, not bad. The lady that works there was very nice and the food was pretty good. My bf thought the enchilada was okay but I got the tacos which I would recommend. With the sauces given they were flavorful, fresh, and overall tasty. I got 4 tacos, 2 lengua and 2 chorizo, the lengua(cow’s tongue) was the best, very tender, while the chorizo was a bit dry. The highlight of going there was finding out they had mangositos which are my favorite!

I grew up in Denver, where authentic mexican restaurants are more numerous than Starbucks. So it was hard living in Baton Rouge for 5 years and not having a single good mexican restaurant. I ate at most of them, always hoping that the next would finally satisfy, but always bring left wanting. And then 4 months before I left Baton Rouge I found this little diamond. The food here is amazing. The menu is limited, but that is a great thing. So many«mexican» restaurants in BR have a huge menu, but don’t do any of it well. Franko’s does only a few things, but they do them right. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired, but I know that in Louisiana, if the food is great nobody cares about the digs. Baton Rouge, you owe it to yourself to eat great mexican food, so step away from the canned refried beans and get yourself here.

Upon opening a new Vape shop in the Perkins plaza strip mall, I found this little gem of a taqueria. The choices of meats are asada, chicharron, lengua, deshaebrada, chorizo and tinga. The sell burritos, quesadillas, tacos, pambazos, enchiladas, sopes, gorditas, flautas de pollo and, of course, tacos. The make acqua frescos from scratch like Jamaica and orchatta. I have been craving this type of cuisine since moving to Baton Rouge and he locals would tell me to visit cookie cutter tex mex that failed to deliver. I needed food that emulated the soul of Mexico. This place blew me away. The lengua is so tender that it melts in your mouth. If you have never had beef tongue or had a bad experience with it, this is where you should give it a second shot. Their menu is simply on a dry erase board and the restaurant in small and nothing special when it comes to decorations. If that’s what you look for in a restaurant, you are doing it wrong! The staff is always so incredibly nice and are always helping me try new things, like deshaebrada. A slow cooked, spicy beef that made the best taco I’ve ever had. If you are looking for tacos that are filled with lettuce, cheese and ground beef(although they do have ground beef,) you might want to think outside the shell and check out the true flavors of Mexico! This is my new favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge. Pro tip — their sides of salsa verse and roja are amazing.
