Aveda Institute Baton Rouge

This might just be the best kept secret in Baton Rouge.
Getting a man to get a pedicure with you is no easy feat. Look y’all, I have tried for ages. I finally dragged him in a few weeks back at some generic place (he was a not impressed virgin there) for the tune of $ 50. Ugh.
This weekend we went to the Aveda Institute. I had to drag him into this place too but he’d even agree…
–It smells divine in here.
–The students are personable and so nice.
Here’s what you can look forward to here. A full service pedi at half the price anywhere else. A complimentary hand massage while your feet are wrapped in warm towels. Great customer service.
I have never had a better pedicure and it was only $ 17. AND you get to keep the nail polish you chose!

The students are super nice, however, worst pedi of my life. I feel so bad that these kids are paying real money to attend here. There was no direction or consistency. I was telling the poor kid how to do my pedi. A «teacher» came in briefly to look over their shoulder and smile. Come on! Care a little about your students and your customers! I came with two girlfriends and each pedicure was done completely different. Not in a good way. Yes it is inexpensive but I will never go back.

A year or so ago It was always an amazing experience coming here. Like it was too good to be true. Get an amazing cut and color for a fraction of the price. Sure they took a little longer but they were students so I totally understand.
The last 2 times I have come in have just been an absolute nightmare. The girls forgetting to do what I came in for, not understand how toner works, hair cuts that barely take anything off but still take forever. The girls always talking about how they cant wait to god home and how they don’t want to be there. We can hear you! Bad mouthing other girls clients 2 chairs down. My last experience she actually said, «Oh shit!» while coloring my hair. Oh my god you never say that in front of the client.
Look I understand, they are just students, that’s the whole reason behind the school. They need to learn. If anything I should be a little aggravated with the instructor who allows the people to leave with an absolute train wreck on their head and still passes the girl.
I just have had such amazing experiences with the school in previous years I expected more. I knew I could walk in there with confidence that I was going to have an amazing time. Now it is simply not the case, they are on the same level as any other salon school. Good luck!

The front desk are very polite. Almost like it’s scripted and not genuine. Anyway, I love watching the students work on their models.
