Beautiful views of downtown Baron Rouge and the Mississippi River. Great service in both the lounge/bar and in the restaurant. The spot that they are lacking is the food. Nothing really stood out with much flavor or character.

Well where to begin… How about the beginning. Our reservation was for 7:30, but we were directed to the lounge area to wait out table even though I saw plenty open. I got a really good Moscow Mule and enjoyed the breath taking view. There were some really nice people to talk to, but I feel like they were the exception. After waiting for 45 minutes the view and the drink starting to lack luster to say the least. However, they were able to seat several people that showed up after we did. So that was nice of them to allow someone a table. I guess we weren’t upper echelon and didn’t get priority seating… even with a reservation. We finally sat down at 8:20. We then continued to sit, and sit, and sit. The bread server was very good, but unfortunately he was the only one. The server finally came up to us to ask us for our drink order. That took twenty minutes to get. He came back twice to ask what we ordered. Finally after getting our drinks we waited another fifteen minutes to order. We the proceeded to wait. After about twenty minutes we got out soup. It was a crab and brie that tasted like it had too much flower, and should have been tossed out. I guess they figured we wouldn’t notice and deserved it. That was nice of them. Then continued to wait. In the mean time, the server came several times to ask me for my wine selection, and to find our table card that was obviously sitting in the middle of the table. I believe it was 9:20 when we finally got our entrée. My girlfriend got the steak which was pretty good, and I got the chicken that was dry and bland. The garlic potatoes I had were the best part of the night. Honestly one of the worst dishes I’ve had in a while. The desert came after another twenty minute From poor service to fast food quality food this place was trash. The meal was unexpectedly cheaper than I thought it would be though. The sad part was I really was thinking about becoming a member, but they proved what a disappointment that would have been. Thankfully I didn’t make that mistake, but I feel this is why they are trying so hard to get new members. I feel bad for them because I could tell it has the ability to be truly amazing. Especially with the breath-taking view. Oh well, it is what it is. Sorry Camelot Club, but I wouldn’t pay $ 20 for that service and food. I honestly can’t believe I’m rating a place that seems so nice on paper with what I believe is my worst review yet. Hey you earned it.

Never have I been so disappointed in a dining experience. So it’s restaurant week & they were open to the public this week which is exciting! We had a reservation at 7 for a table of 5. When we get out of the elevator we were greeted by the hostess. They said we couldn’t sit until everyone from our party was present… In my mind I was ready to sit & order an appetizer & a few drinks before. We got offered to wait in the lounge. Which is the bar area. It wasn’t busy. We ordered a Moscow mule and waited one by one for everyone to arrive. Finally we got seated! Yes! By this time I was starving. When we are seated we aren’t greeted with a menu. 15 minutes later our server comes & greats us finally. Then we get water. We are brought a small fancy French dish that I didn’t care for but some of the table liked. Another 10 minutes rolls by and we get … Bread and butter! One roll per person though. I scarfed mine down. Then we are presented a restaurant week menu! BUT when we ask if we can order something like an appetizer off the regular menu, they mention that they aren’t offering anything off the regular menu but we can glance at it if we would like… This rubbed me wrong but I understand. Everyone already knew what they wanted but we waited for her to come back… I got the wedge, 4 oz filet medium rare with asparagus & cheesecake. It took a while for our soup and salad to come out… May I remind you it’s not busy at all and in no way do you have to actually cook a soup or salad. When everyone got their first course, they liked the way it taste. The only disappointment was the sensation salad. It was very small with a half of a cherry tomato. we are brought a rose which was special while eating the first course. Waited A LOT longer … Finally got our second course. The trout was fishy & they held back on the hollandaise for sure. Pasta was over cooked and tasteless. My steak was burnt in places && was definitely way over cooked. I had to ask for a steak knife when presented with the filet… None of us liked what we got so we all decided to share the dishes. I didn’t even finish the 4 oz filet I was so disappointed. When it was taken we waited longer for the 3rd course longer than any of the others. We asked for it 4 times. We had all of our forms of payment out on the table ready to leave the second we got the dessert. A man came and asked how we liked everything and it was pretty evident we were all very unhappy… But there was no point to complain because gratuity was already going to be added and we aren’t members so it’s not like we could come back and dine here. Nor did any of us want to wait there any longer. Also 3 different people came to us and asked if we were on separate tickets. It’s a shame I spent that much money to have to go pick up a 5 $ lsu sushi roll at rock n sake on the way home because I was still hungry and didn’t want to spend much more than I already have. I would never wish anyone to have the same experience we had. My boyfriends family are also members, he offered to take me here & I told him to never do so.

My boyfriend and I were invited to the Camelot Club on the evening of his birthday and what a pleasant surprise it was. As new transplants to the city, we have missed our majestic views that Illinois and the Windy City had to offer us. Here at this private club for members only and their guests, you can enjoy panoramic views of Downtown Baton Rouge and beyond as well as view the LSU’s jumbo tron through a telescope. It was really cool, even though there was nothing on it since of course Football season is over and there wasn’t a concert going on or anything. As we enjoyed wonderfully crafted drinks we also were able to sample various food provided in the lounge area. The food was good but we were so anxious to await the parade that we mainly enjoyed our discussion and our view. One of the employees was also very gracious and treated us like VIP members, she took her time to discuss various things about the Camelot Club. If possible, one day we would love to become members, but for now we will enjoy your invitiations from time to time. Oh and no jeans allowed of course. You know swankly places have to be exclusive…

I have family who are members of this private«club”/restaurant. I’ve eaten here 3x, once on Mother’s Day brunch(which is something I do not recommend — I’m not a fan of buffet style dining). The other two occasions were for dinner, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It’s a dimly lit, slightly fancy, quiet establishment on the top floor of a bank building in downtown BR, with views overlooking the river… absolute gorgeous at night. Great for business lunches or romantic dinners. 3 – 4 courses, and I’m satisfied every time. I always feel like a lady when I eat here, and dress accordingly.

Its a private club. It has an excellent view and the food is terrific and setting is refined. It is a private club. The movers and shakers of Baton Rouge and the State come here for breakfast, lunch dinner. There is a bar for drinks. A place for well heeled and up and comers alike.

I have no idea where the category Nightlife comes from on the Unilocal description of this place… ITIS A PRIVATEMEMBERSONLYCLUB!!! Definitely not a nightlife kind of place. Mainly, this is a good place for lunch & dinner… Not sure if they do breakfast but they very well might… Great views of the Mississippi River on the side of the club where we were seated today. My sister is a member and this was my first time here… took our mother there for the Mother’s Day seating. Nice meal, buffet style… the meal itself is was just OK but I’ve heard just stopping on a regular day for lunch or dinner the dining is excellent. I noticed from the monthly calendar they do several specialty nights a month ranging from Mexican to Italian to All American(burgers and dogs cookout). Good place to take a business lunch, if you’re a member. The bar does mix a nice drink which they should if you’re a paying member.
