This is my favorite place to go for Chinese food. I’ve tried a few menu items here but my favorites are the sesame chicken, the General Tso chicken and the egg rolls. The lady who takes your order is very efficient and it’s extremely rare for you to get your order wrong. Your food is always served hot and fresh whether you pick up or dine in. I’ve dined here a few times and the only thing about dining in is that the kitchen is very close to the dining area so it is a bit warm inside the restaurant, but it’s worth it because it’s the best Chinese food restaurant in Baton Rouge in my opinion.

I’ve tried a lot of Chinese-American places, and I think this one is by far my favorite. My favorite things to get are the mushroom delight, moo goo gai pan, and the boneless chicken(I’m not a big fan of General Tso’s because I’ve had it too often.

Their dumplings are the best I’ve ever had. Everything they make is delicious, but we always order some dumplings as well.

I enjoyed my dish from here. It came piping hot, and full of flavor. I ordered it extra spicy, yet it wasn’t. You can sit down and eat here but it seems that most of their business is to go. It was ready quickly and is close by. They have all of the classics you are accustomed to ordering, but a real surprising winner is the General Tso Shrimp. That dish is amazing and highly recommended. The have lunch deals as well.

It’s OK at best. Maybe it’s because I’m asian, or I’ve been spoiled by the Chinese places back home in Chicago’s Chinatown, but this place is nothing to write home about. The fried rice needs work, there’s hardly any sauce that comes with the potstickers, and overall the flavor of my General Tsao chicken was… Meh. I’ve eaten here twice now just to confirm what I wanted to say on this review, and yea, still going with a hearty«Meh».

I’ve just moved here and last night, I suddenly became VERY hungry after a long day of unpacking. This place is right around the corner from my house and I’m glad that it is. I ordered a hot and sour soup and General Tso’s Shrimp. The hot and sour soup was delicious and the fried wontons that came with it were perfectly thin and tasted fresh. I’ve never has General Tso’s Shrimp before… all I can say is… YES!!! The shrimp were large and plentiful, the veggies tasted fresh, and the sauce was light and flavorful. My first dinner as a resident of Baton Rouge didn’t leave me disappointed.

I wasn’t blown out of the water or anything. But for convenience, quality, and excellent service, I’ll definitely go back. I had shrimp fried rice, which was excellent, and the shrimp were big. I also got the vegetable low mein, which fell short. I am, however, looking forward to trying more from them.

Just found this restaurant — it is close to where we live but I never gave the location of this restaurant a chance until November 21. It was a pleasant surprise. After seeing the restaurant and location on Unilocal I decided to try it for fried rice and an egg — and I was incredibly surprised. I walked in to find people in line to order food(that’s always a good sign), and a very nice young lady at the counter too my order with a smile and positive energy. The food was prepared and ready in a very short time and most importantly it was delicious and fresh tasting. We will get take-out from this restaurant again soon — it will become a regular stop for us.

Don’t understand the previous reviews. The standards for Chinese food must be set low. Abhor egg drop soup that has been dyed with yellow food coloring.

We live nearby and get food from here constantly. The orange chicken is my favorite. The only thing not up to par is their sweet and sour sauce. Friendly owners who are always working hard.

Best in the city. I love the fresh and hot food we ALWAYS receive when we pick up here. The food taste really good and the people are nice and helpful when deciding what to order. Great Place

Small store but convient. Got the sweet and sour chicken and had plenty for leftovers. The sauce is usually what makes the dish and their sauce was on point. Price is affordable, definitely a place I’d keep going back to.

Overall, I go regularly and would definitely recommend it to others. People who know me and read my reviews know that I love whole in the wall Chinese places — they are typically amazing or terrible. I love going there, because they have a very simple agreement with their customers: You give me a small pile of money, and I give you a big pile of food. And they deliver. My roommate go about once a month, and we enjoy the experience. I give them 4 stars, not because the food is amazing and the atmosphere is top notch, but because they offer a ton of good food for very little price. The lady who runs the register is always nice. I typically get a large order of the chicken in garlic sauce and a small order of egg drop soup and a drink. It costs less than $ 12, and I have lunch for the next day. There are lots of veggies and plenty of chicken. It isn’t very spicy, but I bet they would make it spicier if I asked. I know they have lunch menu, though I have never made it in for lunch.

When I’m in the mood for some American Chinese cuisine for take out this is my place. They are pretty cheap and the servings are large. The food is also great. Other than that it looks like every other Chinese take out restaurant ever.

I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and beef with vegetables. The dishes were good and I was very happy with it being hot and surprisingly fresh. It’s not a buffet(thank god) or phenomenal but for a little Chinese restaurant their pretty good.

Really good most of the time but when I order a shrimp dish I find that they skimp on the shrimp. Other than that it’s all good!

This place has the absolute BEST pan fried dumplings in the city — so yummy! Plus their food is made to order, which is hard to find in «Buffet Rouge».

«Generals Chicken combo, no mushrooms please.» «Ok, it will be ready in 5 minutes» that’s the extent of my conversation on the phone with China Star, but when I drive up the food is there and piping hot. This place is your run of the mill strip mall chinese restaurant, but i love it. Everything is cooked up fresh. No stagnant buffet. Prices are good and they always seem happy to help.
