This place is super cool. We went by for the sky viewing. The people are very polite and helpful. We got to see saturn and 5 moons, it’s amazing how clear the view was. I’d highly recommend this.

BREC’s Highland Road Park Observatory offers fun, family-friendly and free Friday night sky viewings and lectures(from LSU physics and astronomy professors and graduate students). I’ve been twice now and have always had a very pleasant time. The lectures start around 7 and are then followed immediately by the sky viewing. Each week the lectures focus on a different topic so check out their website for topics. They also have coffee available(which makes the whole experience very quaint). They also host a multitude of summer day camps and Saturday afternoon activities for kids but I don’t know much about those since I don’t have children. For pictures and more information, check out my blog post about my visit to the observatory here:
