I love this place! Any time I’m in town I have to get a «Jazz Daddy Special» on that killer muffuletta bread with a side of au jus to dip it in! The owner is the kindest guy you’ll ever meet, and his staff are great too. Mmmm mmmm good.

I used to work here & I still haven’t been able to find a place that makes a sandwich as good as the Jazz Daddy Special. A delicious hot pressed sandwich that I like to dip in a bowl of their au jus gravy. Soooo good.

All in all this place is nice. The people who work here are very friendly. Maybe I didn’t fit in with the crowd but I felt a bit out of place eating there. The poorboy was extremely delicious and about 8.50, but it was pretty small compared to others I’ve had.

Ten small shrimp on a bread closer to a hot dog bun then French bread for over $ 9. Not sure how you call this a po’boy. The French fries were good.

Really like the half jazz daddy sandwich. It’s worth a little out of the way travel to stop by on occasion.

I really like Jazz Daddy’s. It is in a rather elusive spot, and those traveling southbound on Jefferson Highway may miss it as the shopping center faces the other direction. Their best item is easily the shrimp poboy – I am not exactly sure how they cook the shrimp, but they are not greasy or full of batter. It is as if they boil the shrimp first and then dust them with a little batter. Regardless of how they cook it – it works well(maybe a little too well)! Jazz Daddy’s doesn’t really offer anything you cannot get at another Louisiana sit-down restaurant or sandwich shop, but they do an excellent job with the items they have. It doesn’t get a lot of business(at least in the evening), but it seems to do well enough with takeouts and, perhaps, at lunch to survive.

Mmm, Louisiana flavor at its best! This restaurant features some of the best Poboys around, and just about everything on the menu, especially the«Jazz Daddy’s Special,» is excellent. I always get a plain(bread and meat) Roast Beef Poboy with gravy/French Dip and a side order of Mozzarella Sticks. The food here is reasonably priced, if not a bit on the expensive side, and refills here are complimentary. The food is ready really fast, and I’ve never had an incorrect order. The owner works behind the corner and is extremely personable, and he will surely remember your usual order if you come here enough. Jazz Daddy’s is about as good as it gets for poboys in Baton Rouge.
