I’ve lived in four different apartments in Baton Rouge, in three different apartment complexes. Jefferson Shadows has been by far my best rental experience to date. Now, I’m not exactly rolling in dough, so I’m sure that there are some higher-end apartments out there that are better. But for the price, Jefferson Shadows hits a homerun. The location is pretty convenient to just about everything(at least, everything I need!) since I-10 and I-12 are both just a minute or two away. The office staff is sweet and competent. Maintenance issues are taken care of quickly(!) and without any undo fuss. The property is decently maintained, and has a very homey, neighborhood-type feel. It is affordable, and as an added bonus, they give you from the first till the fifth to pay the rent. There are a handful of sweet, friendly, and fixed(spayed/neutered) stray cats living on the property, which is a plus for me since I love cats! My only complaints are comparatively minor; it seems like the office is closed an awful lot — lots of long weekends, etc. But since they do give you a five-day window for the rent, that’s not as problematic as it could be. The other complaint is that the driveway through the complex is a bit narrow and winding, which can be a bit dangerous — it would help if they added a few more stop signs and speed bumps. I often see people speeding through, it’s a miracle that I’ve never seen an accident happen! Other than that(and an occasional annoying neighbor), my experience living at Jefferson Shadows has been nothing but pleasant! Since Unilocal doesn’t have a spot for me to put the amenities, I’ll include a few here: –pet friendly –community pool –very nice laundry mat –kitties! –gated –24 hour call service for emergency maintenance
