This just might be my favorite place to go downtown! The chargrilled oysters are my absolutely favorite thing on the menu. If you are into raw wasters, their daily list is always delicious. Local Tip: ask for the bloody Mary granita to accompany them! Make sure that you don’t miss their Sunday Songwriter open mic!

Oh, wow! OK, we ordered 7 varieties of raw oysters and all were excellent. Some of those we ordered with the special toppings — cucumber something, etc. — all excellent! Then we had chargrilled oysters and BBQNOLA style and it was really hard to pick which one we liked better. Oh and also we got the Rockefeller and those were excellent. We didn’t get oyster shooters because been-there-done-that and sick of it for some reason. The place was not packed as we had picked a time when we knew parking would not be a problem. I hope this place keeps up the quality. I’d hesitate to go during the week unless I worked downtown or really knew parking tricks because that’s how Baton Rouge downtown rolls these days. And previous days.

Four stars for the food and three for the service. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt because it is sunday after a weekend of preliminary pre fat Tuesday celebrations and everyone was looking tired and moving slowly. In either case the oysters made up for it. They were being freshly chucked at the bar and it was well with the seven bucks for half dozen. They were big and fresh. No complaints.

The food is very good. The bacon and Brie and chargrilled oysters would have to be my favorite. The turkey, bacon and Brie sandwich is very good if you need something more filling. The cocktails are great, the screwdriver is something special. All that being said, the service is terrible. I usually come during the day when I have time off. It works out because the crowd is small and I am not rushed for time. They take their sweet time. Last visit my chargrilleds came out about 15 minutes before everyone else’s raw oysters. Friday nights will take at least 2 hours to get in and out. We’ve also had a string of strange waitresses. One girl cried while taking our order. Everyone moves at a snails pace which is frustrating when you can see they aren’t busy. It’s not that I mind hanging out, but I didn’t pack a bag. TLDR: good food, good drinks, terrible service.

I’ve been dreaming about Rockefeller oysters since my New Orleans trip. Luckily Baton Rouge hooked me up with some awesome oysters. The variety is insane and I tried four different kinds they were all great but the chargrilled and the bacon and Brie were my favorite. On Mondays they also have $ 0.75 for the raw oysters, FYI for the raw oyster lovers.

I would say this has become one of my fav restaurant/bar downtown to hang out with my friends. I usually forget to check-in when I’m here, but I don’t forget all the laughters and fun we have here. I was originally introduce to this place by a friend… for a blind date. The blind date didn’t go as plan, but it was a definitely fun experience for the both of us. Lol It is a great place to get fresh oysters(cooked or raw), a good drink after work and joke around with locals that also enjoy this little place. It actually isn’t little, it is divided into two area. One side is more of the restaurant side; with a dine-in area and an oyster shucking area. I love the high-top area; makes it a fun interactive atmosphere. The other side, is the bar. It has a few larger tables for a party of 4 – 8 people to hang out. There is a small stage area up front, where you can listen to a local band. It really is an amazing place! The first night I was there, it was a laid back evening. The night I went back for the scavenger hunt, it got so pack that my friends and I ended up hanging out in front. Oh! They also had a couple of high tops outside for those that wants to enjoy the beautiful fall weather we are having!

Totally having a love affair with this joint: recommending all oyster lovers going to or through BR eat here! No one else imports Seattle area and NE oysters! I also had delish Murder Point, AL oysters. Their jalapeño & cucumber sauce for raw oysters is unique, irresistible & incomparable(suitable for aipping, lol). They also offer a Bloody Mary-style ice topping. And a trad-style cocktail sauce. But we haven’t begun reviewing the vast offerings of baked and grilled oysters: all I can say is Bacon and Brie!!! Many choices for all pallets but that’s my favorite! You don’t need to fly north to have fresh, unique oyster offerings at Jolie Pearl. Oh, don’t miss out on the homemade margaritas. I had one of those, one flute of bubbly and a new line of Pinot Noir they are featuring. I have craved a return to this place ever since I left Nov. 6th. Preferably when there is free live music!

Two of. our party claimed to not really like oysters… well, this place changed their minds. We got fresh gulf oysters which were huge and VERY fresh. Then we got platters with combinations of brie and bacon, Italian, boudin and I think everything else they had. We liked everyone of them although the brie was tops. of about everyone’s list. Good quick service. Can’t wait to go back!

Nice to go somewhere that has a large variety of grilled and baked oysters beyond the standards that most other Louisiana oyster bars offer. That being said, their traditional grilled oyster was my favorite, but the baked corn«mock shoe» was a close second… Maybe if it was grilled, it would take 1. Also had the blue cheese, grilled, but the cheese over powers the oyster flavor. Overall a great experience, and love the dedication to being 99% oysters only.

Who knew I loved oysters? We have always been skeptical about oysters and figured if we were gonna give them a fair shot, how about we go to a place that ONLY does oysters. We started out with 4 chargrilled oysters, they were delicious. They came out nice and quickly and I like that you can see the oysters that are being grilled live on a screen. We then ordered an order of 4 bienville oysters, these were nice and big, very well stuffed. They go great with a little hint of tabasco. The service was good too, a bit confusing. 2 different girls kept taking our orders, but they were both very nice. I will definitely be back.

Nice to find this place near the convention center. Oysters were fresh and tasted okay. I was irritated by what felt like misleading prices. The menu said $ 7 for a half dozen, which seemed good. When the bill came, however, I was charged twice that amount! So paid $ 28 for a dozen. Not cool. We asked the server and she said the $ 7 oysters were not the ones we ordered. Caveat emptor!

Really impressed with the oysters here! Great location near the Gálvez structure and the town square downtown. My favorites were the classic chargrilled, corn machoux, and the boudin. The atmosphere itself is really nice. Lots of seating and two bars. TVs located throughout. Neat place to hangout after work and on weekends.

Jolie’s oyster bar has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. If you are a fan of oysters then you are in the right spot. Love the Bloody Mary bar concept but they really need to make there own bloody mix. The one main issue is they need to expand there food menu outside of oysters. They have five sandwich items and that’s it(not one being an oyster poboy btw) my gf tried the Italian beef sandwich and it was a disappointment. Overall it’s great place to kill a Saturday afternoon drinking especially if you like oysters. So get you’re ass down here and have a fun time.

The oysters on a half shell were so good. Definitely get the cucumber mignonette to go with it. We also got the classic chargrilled and the blue cheese both were excellent. My Louisiana mule(cocktail) was ok. I don’t think I would get that again but the food was excellent. I like how you can watch the oysters on the grill on the TV as well.

Downtown Baton Rouge is kind of a weird place. Completely deserted during the day, and eerily quiet. In fact, even finding a place where to have lunch on a Saturday afternoon can be a challenge[1]. Enter Jolie Pearl, a nice, welcoming, friendly, laid back oyster bar, just perfect to relax, enjoy a beer, and have a dozen of so of super-tasty grilled oysters in downtown BR. The space is dominated by the pearl white custom bar, and by a massive blackboard with a beautiful drawing that explains all the different types of oysters and their main characteristics. The bar also has a TV showing what’s on the grill in real time. On the back of the bar there is a large space with a stage, and they host local musicians on a regular basis. Their oyster selection is rather impressive; in fact, it would appear that they serve«50 different kinds of oysters at any given time“[2]. We tried 3 different baked oysters: — Boudin(Cajun sausage stuffed with pork and rice, pepper jack cheese; $ 8⁄4) — Corn maque choux(mixture of corn, bell peppers and fresh herbs with a béchamel sauce; $ 7⁄4). — Bienville(with shrimp, mushrooms, bell peppers, white wine and bread crumbs; $ 9⁄4). They were all delicious, just like my Chafunkta Kingfish Ale. My only regret: not having had the opportunity to come back to try the crawfish, which they get fresh every day. — — — — - [1] The plan was to eat at the Main Street market; too bad the thing wraps up at 11:30am… [2]

We came here following Live After 5 so I don’t want to be too picky. It took a minute to get service, but once we did, there were 3 people serving us. Basketball on one big TV and LSU baseball on the other. The oysters were really good and the brie and turkey sandwich was tasty too. The new Tin Roof beer was on special for $ 3, which is a great price for a good oyster compliment. My friends tipped the singer to get off the stage and let them sing and dance. That was fun. I had to hunt down the server to get the check, but it was late and after what was I’m sure a busy night, so I didn’t fret. Good times with good friends and some good bivalves. I’ll be back.

Amazing oysters! Probably the best I have ever had. Service can be very spotty though. Been there about 10 times and they average about 30 minutes to get you a check after asking.

«Oysters, oysters, oysters and yes, you guessed it… more oysters»! If you love oysters, which I never did until I moved to Louisiana! There is a huge difference with Gulf Coast Oysters vs. Pacific Coast Oysters. I find Gulf Coast oysters to be a lot plumper and just all-around better! I have been wanting to try Jolie Pearl and finally got to, when me and my family were at the Festival of Lights downtown. It’s hard to believe, but I was actually craving oysters tonight and boy did I order some… 12 to be exact! Of course we shared the oysters amongst family and friends because they were quite large. Even though I could have eaten both plates that were filled with oysters, I decided to take it easy a bit and share! We ordered the grilled oysters: Brie and Bacon plate and the Bienville and both were spot on… not overly cooked and not under-cooked, so perfect on my palate! The oysters were massive… about the size of my hand! I don’t think you can go wrong with any oyster you order. If you don’t love oysters, please try one anyway… you may surprise yourself! Like I mentioned, I never liked oysters as a child, but now I am hooked… I will even eat them raw! *Oyster * Oyster Bar * Happy Hour * Live band * Dine in or have dinner under the stars *
