Too bad they just closed. Found a great little restaurant and they closed. Now where for great farm to table food?

I almost hate to give away the secret and draw bigger crowds. My current B.R. favorite. Its recent menu offerings expansion offers options that are so well done, one might think they were bringing them in from one of the town’s elite restaurants. The service is extremely friendly — to the point that it actually feels like the employees are enjoying serving the patrons as much as the patrons are enjoying the place. It’s a 5 star not because it’s the fanciest dining in Baton Rouge, but because it is a ‘no flaws’ operation. Now, stay away so we don’t have to wait for a table.

Latte e Miele is a local gem. Inventive flavors, great staff, and a cool vibe. Try one of their homemade sodas. I’m not a soda drinker so I consider these a special treat. We’ve hosted events here for Creative Louisiana and always get great reviews from attendees about the great atmosphere.

Charming café located right by Bocage. The selection of gelato is really good. What I enjoyed most is their cookies. They also serve illy coffee. Love their concept of supporting local vendors. I’ve been here multiple times. Good place to hang out! Wish they were open later.

Super-sweet staff! Really good gelato, mostly made with great ingredients(they say they make their own base — awesome). A bit pricey, but nonetheless: very good. Cannot vouch for the meals or coffee(yet), but a great option for real gelato.

I’ve been here a few times and have had some of the sandwiches and salads. I have yet to try any of the coffee or gelato. Everything I have had was delicious! They used to make a Korean beef sandwich that I wanted to marry, but I haven’t seen that on the menu in a long time. So I am a little heartbroken. The porchetta sandwich is wonderful. I also had a salad with peaches that was great. It might be time to visit again…

This review is for the gelato only– I have not tried anything else here. I’ve been here twice and had the salted caramel gelato and the watermelon sorbet. Both were delicious and were served with a smile! The customer service is great and I enjoy the atmosphere of this cute café as well. I met a friend to study here once and did not see an outlet for my computer(luckily I didn’t end up needing it), so I don’t know if I would recommend this café for work purposes. However, it’s such a great atmosphere that I would want to just enjoy it without doing work. The sandwich menu looks delicious and the pastries look great as well and are reasonably priced. I look forward to trying more when I come again!

I love this café! The café has a very bright and clean look and has many tables(large & small) for your«get-together for a coffee/gelato or lunching» needs! The menu is very easy-to-read/understand and everything is just laid out so orderly! I wish I can have the person who organized this café to organize my home… just sayin’! Anyway, let me start with the cons: need more outlets or power strips so café visitors can plug in their electronic devices. I had the tomato basil soup today — kinda too oily, but still very tasty… Pros: the lighting fixture in the over the long table in the center is gorgeous! The gelato selection is mouth-watering. My cup of coffee was served piping hot and perfect to start my morning. Customer service is super friendly. Let me emphasize this again… the place is super clean… LOVETHAT! The furniture and light fixtures are very contemporary! Latte e Miele is refreshingly delightful and plenty of room to get-together with a large group of friends for some gelato or a work lunch.

Well, I stopped by today to get some coffee after reading about it on the Coffee Wars article, but once I got their I could not help but be intrigued by the homemade gelato. I tested a few of the flavors and they were all delicious. So, I ended up getting a gelato and enjoyed every single bite. It was very creamy and smooth. Just perfect.

This is such a cute little place. The atmosphere is so cute and hipster-esque. French coffee shop feel. I could totally study here. I’m here on a Sunday afternoon because I love sandwiches. I asked the girl at the register what the most popular sandwich was, the PORCHETTA was the answer. The inside was deliciously filled with soft pork, some house made mustard and onion sauce, and fresh garlic herbs. However, the ciabatta it was on was definitely OVERTOASTED. It was too rock hard… I took my fork and ate the inside separately from the bread because I had to. Biting into that bread made me feel like my teeth were going to break. Ciabatta usually isn’t burnt like this. I typically love a nice toast to my sandwiches, but the proper bread is necessary. Considering a sandwich is half bread and half filling, I was dissapointed that I only like the inside. Id come back again for the gelato and espresso sometime, but I came for the sandwich. Maybe next time it won’t be burnt.

This was such a cute little place. The menu for lunch is somewhat limited, but everything sounds so good you still have a tough time making a selection. We wound up getting the Porchetta and Creole Club. Man, I don’t know why we didn’t all three get the Porchetta. The meat was so tender and juicy, the bread very soft and the combinations of flavors were perfect. I would highly recommend. The Creole Club was quite nice too, but didn’t have the WOW factor of the Porchetta. We also got some of their espresso drinks, and housemade Italian soda. I was surprised at how refreshing the soda was, not overly sweet at all. The interior is clean and open(lots of windows) and you can purchase loose tea and coffee while you’re there, if you like. They also have a nice selection of gelato and coffee. My favorite? Their Karma Board. Love the idea of paying it forward! It’s definitely a unique new Italian café experience in Baton Rouge, where it’s easy to keep going back to the same old places.

The staff was very polite and helpful and that is the only reason that i am giving them 2 stars. The reason I went is because my dear friend And colleague told me it was wonderful and I acquiesced. We both had a beautiful sounding corned beef sandwich. It was awful! The corned beef was shoe leather. The coleslaw was good and the squash soup was ok. She sent her sandwich back because it was inedible and got something else that she said was good. I ate the«meat» to prove it was possible and left the bread. Tasted the gelato and the consistency was good but the flavors were sketchy so I abandoned the idea of gelato for desert. What a shame. To reiterate, the people were very nice and the place was very attractive but I’d rather go hungry than try this place again.

Came here after dinner and had the Mulled Cider Sorbet, Butternut Chevre, and the Pumpkin Swiss Chocolate… Mulled Cider was the best of the three I tried. The pumpkin in the chocolate was really subtle and I could’ve done without the butternut.

From out of town, saw this place from the street and decided to pop in. Milk and Honey gelato is to die for! Had that and coffee on the patio which was very quaint. However the traffic was a bit noisy, but the restaurant can’t control that :) Great for people watching. This is a must visit! Had a medium gelato, small gelato and two cups of coffee, cost $ 18. Don’t know if that pricey or not but it was worth it!

Dined for lunch with a group of 7 on a Sunday afternoon. The place was nonstop busy! Loved everything. The atmosphere was inviting and made me feel very relaxed. The food was incredible, I loved the local products used in the dishes. I had a bowl of the satsuma sweet potato soup and the farmer’s salad, as well as a house made blueberry soda. For dessert I splurged at got the Salted caramel chocolate gelato. Amazing. The staff was so friendly and very knowledgable, and truly seemed to enjoy being there. If I lived in this area I would be here every weekend!

I was finally able to check out Latte e Miele(which translates from Italian to English as Milk and Honey) after months of passing by it and promising myself I would stop in. This place is great for lunch, coffee, or dessert. The menu consists of soups, salads and sandwiches(all of which run between $ 7-$ 12). The coffee choices are gourmet(illy coffee) and extensive– although I didn’t try any coffee items. The gelato options rotate with the seasons and are made on-site. The décor was funky, ecclectic, bright and fun. The staff were super helpful and cheerful. I’ll definitely be back.

I have been searching for awesome coffee in the New Orleans and Metairie area and there aren’t that many options to choose from. Just happen to be in Baton Rouge on a whim and stumbled upon Latte E Miele. Let me say the only reason I went is for the Illy coffee because I heard so many good things about it. Well, not only have I been blown away by the coffee they serve, but also by the service and décor. The décor and music creates a home away from home vibe, especially the long table in the middle of the café. Please sit at the table as it feels warmer than a typical secluded table. They reuse the old coffee cans for growing in the middle as well. The double shot cappuccino was a little slice of heaven. It’s expresso that’s strong and smooth with the right amount of steamed milk. Basically they don’t muck it up like those big chains. I really want to drink another but that would put me into caffeine overload. It is that good!!! Yum! Also the pistachio and cranberry biscotti was the perfect complement for this. Another thing to my surprise… as if I wasn’t already impressed. The owner took time to greet other customers. He passed by and dropped off a glass of water without me asking. So nice! After a few minutes, he comes back with an orange pistachio biscotti for me! I am over the moon and in heaven ! I am officially in love with this place and wish this was in New Orleans!!! Don’t miss this spot if you’re around!

I love this coffee shop – it has this Austin/hipsterish vibe to it! Located near the Towne Center, it is the perfect place to grab your cup of joe before heading off to work, hang out with friends, eat a light and healthy lunch,…you get the picture. The co-owner(the dad) was very friendly and the service was quick. I only had the opportunity to try their espresso and one of their muffins. Both were delicious. On a side note, I thought it was interesting how you don’t pay when you place your order but instead, after you finish your coffee/meal, if you decide to stay at the shop. The building itself is interesting-particularly the light fixtures. Having the option to have your meal/drink in their patio area is a plus, especially when the weather outside is nice. Next time I am in BR, I’m going to stop by to try their gelato-I hear lots of people raving about it.

Not just a gelato place– they have amazing coffee, pastries, and lunch items. All of their coffee and espresso items are made from Illy products– top-of-the-line quality. I actually went there twice yesterday. The first time, I had the Salted Caramel Rose gelato. Their gelato flavors change with the seasons, and they’re always unique and delicious. I was there near lunchtime and I spied another customer with one of their salads– it was served in a quart-sized Mason jar! The jars make it easier to take the salads on the go with less waste. You put down a small deposit for the jar, and get your money back when you bring the empty jar back to the restaurant. Later that evening, I went back with a friend and we each had a hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream. The hot chocolate is made with their chocolate gelato base– talk about good. It was rich and creamy, without being overly sugary. There was also a business meeting taking place there at a long, dark wood table in the center of the restaurant. The café is spacious enough to allow for groups to meet without bothering other patrons. If you’re looking for a place to study or have a quiet conversation or business meeting and want something different than your run-of-the-mill coffee shop, check out Latte e Miele.
