I ordered pizza from the shop next door and decided to check this place out. I’d heard they had some very unique sunglasses so I was anxious to see the styles. I am over 50 years old so I was shocked when I was greeted by «We need to see your ID» instead of a hello or welcome to the store. I was standing by the sunglasses display which was near the entrance but hadn’t even had time to pick a pair to try. I walked over to the counter, took off my Janis Joplin style sunglasses and asked, do I really look under 21 or even under 40? He said everyone who enters the store must show their ID upon entry. I felt like I was trying to cross into a foreign country or something. I pulled out my ID and told them this made me feel ridiculous and that I didn’t expect people of my age found this treatment necessary. He then told me the owner sent people my age in all the time to fool them into not checking and they would be fired if they did not check everyone. He went further though saying some people found it flattering. REALLY! I don’t think so. Then I thought about the way he wanted my ID on the counter for inspection and figured they were filming it on a security camera. Is there something fishy going on here? Are they tracking people that like crazy sunglasses? Do we pose some kind of danger to society with our deviant rebel style? Or is it a way to get my ID info and sell it to marketing people? Is this a data mining scam? Whatever it is, I want no part of it and will never shop here or any other Ra Shop location so I left after showing my ID. The merry look on the faces of both clerks as I left felt creepy to me. I still feel uneasy about slapping my ID on the counter for the RA Shop Gestapo.

Never going there ever! I’m 31 with a full beard and graying hair… how do I not look 18? I don’t even get carded at bars. I was asked to leave very rudely and when I waited outside the door in my car for my friend I was asked to move again. Can’t believe this place!

It’s amazing how a simple exchange with a customer can drastically affect the opinion of an entire store. There was one clerk that was unnecessarily and extraordinarily rude. I don’t know his name, but that’s just another example of why he’s bad at his job. The store has all you would expect to purchase, but this location has lost me.
