I haven’t had this much fun at an outdoor activity in a long time. Though this was a very challenging and I wasn’t even able to make it to the top of the wall, I still very much enjoyed testing my strength. How is my upper body strength? It’s pretty much non-existent. I have to admit that I wish I could have built up some upper body before I did this exercise. For just $ 5 to partake in rock climbing, it was completely worth it because I sure had fun trying. It encourages you to build your endurance and strive to get to the top. Even the kiddos participating had an awesome time and were also very eager to keep trying to reach the top. The rock climbing instructor — Lee Guilbeau gave us some tips on how to pull up and how to repel off the wall, so he was very helpful and super knowledgeable about the sport. Being that this was my first time to try this, I was scared to death, of course, to let go and repel off the wall. More experienced climbers and fearless individuals made it look so easy to both climb up and descend down. You are safely harnessed, have shoes available(for an extra rental charge) and chalk is available for you to dip palms into for some extra gripping assistance. So, are you ready for your rock climbing adventures? Hop on over to the BREC extreme sports park on Perkins & Kenilworth for hours of fun on the wall.
