The Retreat

I personally am a massage therapist, so I am quite picky about getting massages. However, I got a massage by Jessica and she was simply amazing! She addressed all my problem areas and made sure everything was perfect for me! I booked a 90 min. Massage and I wish I would have been with her longer. After my massage I relaxed in the sauna, then took a nice relaxing shower and headed home. I would highly recommend her! Great customer service! Can’t wait to go back!

Being a massage therapist myself, this is where I go to unwind. I love sitting in the sauna and relaxing in the tranquil lounge while waiting for my service. Since I have places to be after my services, I am able to shower off on one of the bathrooms with a show as well! I always book my massage with Caitlyn, who does an AMAZING 90min Deep Tissue massage (but not so deep to here it hurt the next day)

This was the worst brazilian wax ever!!! Do not go here for a brazilian wax!!! The esthetician Alexis did not know what she was doing. It took her over an hour to leave hair and wax all over my girl parts. She pulled the strips slowly causing me agonizing pain. I do not think they use professional grade hard wax either. Terrible!!! I have had better brazilians for a fraction of what I paid here.

I should have known this place would be nothing but trouble when I called for an appointment. The receptionist was unable to answer any of my questions and had to keep putting me on hold to find answers to my questions. I have visited various spas in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas and have had great experiences with eye lash tinting. Usually the process begins by cleansing the eyes and applying petroleum jelly to the areas around the eye. Next, cotton pads are usually applied under the eyes to avoid discoloring the skin and helps with keeping the dye out of your eyes. NONE of these things were done. I basically sat in the chair and the girl applied the dye as if she was simply applying mascara to my lashes. She briefly let the dye sit, then wiped it off. Usually it only takes one application to give my lashes that dark look, while also making it look as if I have eyeliner on. You could barely see a difference after the first application. Not to mention my eyes were severely burning and watering by this point. Eyelash tinting is typically a comfortable process for me. The girl repeated the process. Still, I was not satisfied with the results. The employee’s lack of experience throughout my time at The Retreat was clearly obvious. I hate to say that I would never recommend anyone to this spa, but there are much better spa options in the Baton Rouge area.

I truly love this place. It all started last year when I bought a gift certificate for a friend who was expecting. Then one afternoon I was having an awful day so I stopped in & they worked me in for a massage.
It was an absolute blessing, I walked into church a few hours later & everyone noticed how relaxed I was.
Since then I have returned for other services. Very caring and relaxed atmosphere.
