For BC this place is great. The sushi is done well and never been disappointed. Good service.

The last couple of times I’ve gone here the rolls have been sloppy(they fall apart as soon as you pick them up). I really go here because the manager Dawn is friggin awesome and there was only one sushi place in Battle Creek. Duh Duh duh… que the whistle song from the good the bad and the ugly… Ichimi Sushi has arrived and they are much better. Step the game up Sakura!!! Sorry Dawn you’re still awesome.

Alright Unilocalers First off, the food here is fantastic, the kitchen and sushi team are amazing. If this review was about food alone, I would have given it 4 stars. The problem is their service. The servers were standing around talking to each other instead of getting their customers taken care of. Big disappointment waiting 10+ minutes for a drink order, watching servers complain about customers. The restaurant and bathrooms could use some cleaning.

I ended up going here 2 nights in a row for dinner. I had the buffalo role and spicy tuna role. Buffalo role was awesome. I had a serious plan of having something completly different the second night but that dang Buffalo role was calling my name. This place has good sushi. I recommend sitting up at the bar. The chefs are fun to watch. They all seem to really enjoy what they are doing and seem to take pride in the product they are putting out. Servers were also great, very attentive but not pushy. Really struggling only giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 but i have only tried 2 things on their entire menu. 4.5 stars if i could. I’m trying to go somewhere else for dinner tonight but I can already hear that buffalo callin.

Very happy with this place, the sushi and sashimi was very good for that price base they could easily compete with any sushi restaurant in that price range in Las Vegas and there’s many. The greeter and wait staff we’re very friendly and upbeat I will be back

This is the second time I have been here and they have contaminated my food each time. I am very allergic to tuna. The server understands what I need, but it gets lost in translation to the sushi chefs. So frustrating. Yeah, they remake it but only after I make a stink with the manager. I shouldn’t have to do that.

I think most people really like this place but I’m giving it 3 stars because I don’t eat sushi and it’s not a place that I desire to eat at, but I went out to lunch with a group of 18 coworkers. We had 2 servers work our table, and they got us in and out within an hour, with separate checks for all! I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box which consists of sliced chicken on a bed of bean sprouts, 4 pieces of california roll(I picked out the imitation crab), 1 spring roll, 1 piece of tempura(I substituted chicken for shrimp), a side of fruit, and a choice of soup or salad. It was good and I ate everything from the plate but this is not a place that I will frequently visit. From what I can tell about the rest of the meals served at my table, the sushi portions were fairly large and everyone seemed pleased with their selections.

Very good sushi here at good prices. Had the house ginger salad, dressing was good. Then ordered a Tony’s roll and a Rock ‘N Roll, both excellent! Chef gave myself and another couple at the sushi bar a free sample of a fried spicy salmon roll, delicious. I am very picky about my sushi and eat it literally all over the world, this stands in the top rankings.

Alright. We came back. The food was so much better this time, so we’re glad we did. Service was pretty good as well, just still not as friendly as I the past, but all things change I suppose.

Best Sushi around! We have went to Fort Wayne and Kalamazoo and nothing compares to the Sakura in Battle Creek. The Buffalo Roll, TnT Roll, Rock and Roll Roll and the Dirty Mouth are our favorites. Everything is really good it’s always a treat to come here!

I have lived in the area for years and drove by countless times but never stopped in(it has never even been in the discussion when deciding where to eat) but recently I was convinced to try«California Rolls» somewhere else… and to my surprise they are really good so last night I took the wife to dinner. It looks like a hole in the wall in a strip mall but inside is one of the cleanest, nicest restaurants around. Nothing like other Asian food establishments! The staff, from the hostess to the waitresses were all very friendly and very helpful explaining menu items to a first time customer. The food was excellent! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Service was awesome! And on the way out one of the waitresses that wasn’t even ours wished us a good evening. Overall it was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. So when you are looking for something different to try or want a new place to take someone out, I would strongly recommend Sakura!

Still one of the nicest places in town, bewildered by the bad reviews, I highly recommend the Naruto rolls and green tea mochi.

This place has good sushi. my wife and I went here on a Friday night as I was in town for business. The prices are high but it’s because there are not many sushi places close by. Glad to have a decent sushi fix though.

The«crazy» dragon roll was good, the Ton Katsu, not so much… The restaurant seems to have been established by someone Japanese but has lost its authenticity…

Stopped in for diner while in town for business and decided to walk from the hotel here. SOGLAD I DID! I ordered the Buffalo roll and the TNT roll. Just the right amount for spice for me. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was phenomenal. I poured myself a little soy sauce, but only dipped twice. The rolls had plenty of flavor without adding to them. Price was nice for the quality of the rolls. I’ve paid $ 3-$ 4 more per roll at other places and was not as satisfied with the flavor. I will definitely be back here next time I’m in the area!

Good quick carry out. Dining area and interior nicely decorated, small and low key feel. Very generous portions!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The service was great from our waitress. She was very attentive and apologetic about the mediocre at best food and horrible customer service of her boss. He refused to let me order what I wanted and would allow a substitution for the California roll of an avocado roll or cucumber roll but not a yellow pickle roll. He claimed the price difference was the reasoning but the yellow pickle roll is priced lower than the avocado roll. Riddle me that. Terrible disappointment for an out of towner who loves sushi.

I like the Bettina roll with spicy salmon instead of spicy tuna, and the volano roll! By far the best sushi in battle creek, hands down.

This restaurant, located in a strip mall, has great sushi. I am very picky about my sushi(quality of rice, freshness of fish, presentation). Every aspect of the meal was outstanding. The Unagi was tender and tasteful, the Cajun tuna was outstanding, the White dragon roll was moist and juicy. The beef negimaki was tender, moist, just unbelievable. Great Choice in Battle Creek…
