Good service, very friendly staff and good wines! We will be going back, went there on a recommendation and so glad we did. I look forward to going back for lunch or dinner.

This place is awesome, Pizza was great, beer was good and overall it was a super cute place. It was a tiny bit unperfessional when the owners daughters or someone’s daughters kept coming in and dancing around, walking in and out constantly(it was cold outside) I am all for family business but I would never let my little girls and her friends run around like the own the place. Besides that the service was good. I have recommended this place to lots of people and I will come back.

Cute little place off the beaten path just outside of Battle Ground. Reasonable prices for wine and beer, and a knowledgeable staff. The wood fired pizza made with fresh ingredients was really good. No formal waiters… have to walk up for drinks or food, but not a big deal to me. I’ll certainly go back in the future.

I was the Driver, the place is nice I hear the wine is a little on the sweet side. Had a bunch of «fruit fly’s» buzzing around. I have been to other wineries and they did not have this issue. That was a little bit of a bummer. Pizza is good!

Fun atmosphere, especially when live music is playing. First time was really nice, decent pizza, mediocre beer, I haven’t tried the wine. Second time there the place was literally swarming with fruit flies and we had to leave early as they were swimming in our beer. It is a little too dark and service is mostly provided by yourself. It feels a bit dirty, especially with dogs wandering around. I guess the Rusty Grape is in fact the Rustic Grape.

Very poorly ran:(you come here for the ambiance I’m guessing? If you don’t mind wandering around hoping for a table to eat your food at, no menus, poor food runners that have to wander around the entire place looking for the plastic card containing the number that corresponds to the food they are delivering, as well as waiting 2+ hours for your salad not to mention your main course. Very disappointed.

This place just makes you feel fancy — plus, great food, great wine. You can have an experience coming here, which is sort of the point. A vineyard, a wood fired stove, a dog that apparently lives on site, plus events, from what I hear. The pizza is great, which is the only food I’ve tried. Sizes run a little small on that, but typical for a specialty pizza place. Pricier than the comparable wood-fired pizza join in town, Uncle D’s, but Uncle D’s is more of a get-in, get-fed, get-out kinda place, whereas Rusty Grape has an added layer of class and sass with all associated increases in price. The wine was really tasty, can’t forget that. Can’t dock them points for it because I was drunk but I happened to wander around among the rows of grapes and had someone yell at me «private property» from the house directly adjacent. I think you should be able to tour the grounds. Kinda weird to have a winery where 90% of it is off limits. That’s not the experience I want to be having. But regardless, I’ll let it go this time.

My GF and I went there for movie on the lawn, and were hooked. She joined as a member that night and we have been back multiple times already in a few weeks. The pizza’s are well balanced and the crust is amazing. She also loved the Hummus. Overall great friendly employees and great food/Wine.

This place has a lot of potential and is in many respects right up my alley: nice setting, friendly staff, relatively hip place in an off the radar location, good pizza and reasonable prices(at least during their happy hour specials). Should be an easy four stars and perhaps five except for two things: 1) the(admittedly low key) dog wondering in and out of the restaurant and around the outdoor seating area. Presumably this is a health code violation, but regardless it’s unappetizing. Granted, I’m not a dog lover. 2) our bill had several mistakes. These things happen and if everything is correct the next visit or two I’ll chalk it up as a fluke, but at the moment it’s a concern. One issue was that not all wine is available at the discounted price even the signage suggested it was. More troubling were the discounted pizzas. We were there on a Thursday and three on offer we’re supposed to be $ 6 each, which is a good deal. On the bill the regular price was charged and then a $ 5.95 discount applied. However one of the pizzas was more than $ 11.95 regularly, so it ended up being more than $ 6. Issues like these are a hassle do desk with and make me think twice about supporting a place. But all in all this was a good option for our family and we’ll be back to try again; we’ll just keep an extra close eye on our bill.

I love Rusty Grape for many reasons: peaceful setting, decent prices, DELICIOUS food and wines and fun activities throughout the year. Movies on the Lawn in the summer is great. Bring a lawn chair, a warm coat and watch your favorite movies as you munch on pizza and imbibe some Riesling. There is always live music, nice firepits outside, they do 2-for-1 pizzas on Tuesdays, Thirsty Thursdays, a friendly dog wanders around… Downsides: bathrooms are far away, which isn’t terrible but if you’ve had plenty of wine, it is! The owner seems nice but I’ve noticed he ignores people if he is chatting up attractive female customers. You must also clean your own tables, which again, isn’t the end of the world, but I do this at home and I don’t feel like doing it when I go out… It’s 4:30am and I’m meandering, but give Rusty Grape a try, it’s fun!!!

I love this place. It’s a short drive from Vancouver, but makes you feel as if you’re in the countryside. Their wine list is different and enjoyable, and their pizza menu is great. i’d suggest this place to any of my friends.

Called ahead to see if there was space for our party of 4 + one 5 year old. We were told«it’s a little busy but plenty of seating.» Drove straight there, only to find out there wasn’t a single place to sit(we were later told it had been that way all day). This was our first time there, so we didn’t know the layout– but there wasn’t a single sign or staff member to explain where to go or what to do. We spent thirty minutes wondering around trying to figure out where to sit and how to order food. When we finally got through a very long line of unhappy people, we were told that the kitchen was really backed up on food– when we asked how long, first we got a snotty answer(«Two years» said one of the cooks). Then we were told, «MAYBE after an HOUR they might be able to START our order.» We were just ordering a pizza, just like everyone else in the place. We’d already been there for over half an hour and had a 5 year old… Plus, we’d driven up from Vancouver after being told there was space, so we were pretty pissed— had to go somewhere else to eat after driving all the way up there.

Super cute place a bit north of Vancouver. We absolutely loved the wine, ambiance, and the food. We went on a Saturday night and there was about an hour wait for the food to come but the owners were upfront about it and very nice about it. Might be an issue for some if they are super hungry however. We had the Cab and our favorite was the Merlot. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to others.

I LOVERUSTYGRAPE! The staff is friendly and they are always willing to help with reservations. Not to mention their wood fire pizza is delicious. Rusty Grape gives off that backyard winery feel, which I love.

Like other reviewers I really wanted Rusty Grape to succeed, as its local and independently owned. This past weekend a few friends had a get together at Rusty Grape for 25 – 30 people. We called several weeks ago because of our large group and when reading on Unilocal sometimes food and drinks run out, We wanted to make sure there was plenty of pizza dough and pop for children in our group. Plus, we wanted to reserve a small room so we could sit together if the weather was rainy. We decided to meet at an off time between 3 – 6. Our plan was for each family to buy our own food and drinks and help support a local business. Fast forward two days before the get together, the manager called regarding pricing…$ 1000…to reserve a room. This was to include appetizers and small bottles of water… no pizza, beer or wine… for 25 people. There was no contract signed, no mention weeks ago of the cost, just that the room will be reserved. Eventually price was negotiate price down with the manager to $ 600…and took off gratuity charge. All details were made by another person in our group so I did not know all details or about this horrendous fee to socialize until arriving at Rusty Grape, and when I found out wanted to leave immediately and go elsewhere, but people were arriving… ready to have fun. There was a big platter of cheese, nice hummus platter, warm pita, and artichoke dip. No service to pick up plates, the dark freezing room had unmarked unlevel floors and people were tripping. Nice weather so we decided to go outside to warm up and did not use room much. However our reserved room was being used by other patrons not from our group. Food was okay, but for service we had to go find beer, wine and pizza and I ended up clearing used plates and glasses over to an unused table. Our group ended up buying their own diner type food on top of the $ 600. When I calculated what we got from the menu prices and what we ended up paying it would have been roughly $ 100. Rusty Grape probably made about $ 500 from our group not including the $ 600 reserve fee for $ 100 worth of appetizers. No television to even watch March Madness… Never ever again will I keep Rusty Grape in my «support local» fun idea spot to meet up with friends. If there were zero stars that’s what this review would be. The wine is mediocre, beer a lame attempt at microbrew, but the ambiance is nice. Cute they have their young kids working, and the dog is an added touch of nice. good for one star. No paper towels in ladies bathroom, steps and ramps need to be marked in dark places, and service and management is pathetic. Our bad our group didn’t communicate beforehand, and taken our business elsewhere. Lesson learned… if there’s no contract two days before event, and management calls with a ridiculous price, don’t pay or walk in with a large group and surprise the staff. Really, when does someone need to pay $ 600 to rsvp a space?

I want this place to succeed, as it’s 1.7 miles from my house, but I worry, because: They are not well organized, lots of confused looks from staff as to what’s going on around them. They were out of 3 of the 5 beers on the menu. 2 out of 5? Not a good percentage. I like the Tuscan feel they are going for but the person that designed the layout should be shot. The first problem is they have metal furniture indoors. Who does that! Anyway, that’s weird enough but then the tables are situated(crammed together more like it) in such a way that you have to turn sideways to walk between the tables and you are still going to rub people on both sides. Get someone in there to change the layout to make it work, it’s not hard. Cleanliness is an issue. Point one: as I was checking out the room and the wall coverings I looked down and saw something dark in the corner. Further investigation leads me to believe it was wet dirt, I would guess coming through the cold joint of the foundation from outside. Not good and not healthy for a restaurant. Point two: when our pizza finally arrived, we found some chocolate on the basket thing it came on. Well, we didn’t eat any chocolate, so that’s really not cool and it was in between the pizza and the paper wrap stuff. My guess would be someone thought it would be a good idea to reuse the wax paper from an earlier customer. I mean, how else could chocolate get on the top of our plate? I would have made a scene, but I was over it at that point. They cheat you on a Groupon deal. This one actually annoyed me. I paid $ 16 for a groupon that they valued at 26.95.(and yes, I went on the Groupon site the next day and checked because I felt something was wrong). Anyway, it was supposed to be for a beer tasting for two people plus spinach artichoke dip. Ok, fine, but as I mentioned before, in their infinite amount of planning ahead, they were out of 3 of the 5 beers they are supposed to be serving. No problem said the middle age guy running the show behind the counter who I think was an owner or at the very least the manager, as he was telling everyone around him what to do. Anyway, he says«since we are out of those beers, you can’t do a tasting, so we are just going to give you 2 pints of beer(one for me, one for the GF) and your dip.» Ok, cool, I guess, but then I did the math. A pint is $ 4.50(which I found out when purchasing our 2nd round), so 4.50 times 2 is $ 9.00 and the artichoke dip, as per the menu, is $ 6.95, so that’s $ 15.95. The numbers aren’t adding up. The groupon was $ 16 and I received food and drinks worth $ 15.95. Gee, thanks Rusty Grape, you actually not only screwed me out of what I was supposed to get, but you stole money from me. And yes, it was 5 cents, but a thief is a thief. I guess they think we can’t add or something. And even after all that, we will try to go back sometime later in the summer and see if they get their act together. We would also like to try their outdoor seating area. The night we were there someone had started a fire, but it seemed an afterthought, as there were absolutely no lights on in that little fire area and the only reason we saw it was because we were leaving. There are many wineries around, these guys need to step up their game. If you want wine and pizza, go check out Moulton Falls. It is farther out of town, but the pizza is way better and the building/ambiance is a 8 or 9, whereas I wouldn’t rate Rusty Grape above a 5. Hopefully they can learn from all of this.

giving this place 4 stars because I really want to be successful. Beer was pretty good, atmosphere was awesome and the food is pretty tasty… Pizza of course. However, we went there on a Friday night and the staff was very unprepared for a busy night and seemed like deer staring at lights of a car. Whenever I tried to refill a beer or get a new one they were out of pint glasses, and completely ran out of soda. An outdoor firepit rarely fed by staff, and evening propane heaters that they refused to turn on. Rusty Grape would have got 5 stars if they had good customer service, but it’s truly immature in the food and wine industry. There is hope for the taste of Tuscany, but they will truly need to step up their customer service if they want to last in an extremely competitive market of wine and beer in the Great Northwest. The microphone hits the floor… I’m out

Went for the Chocolate & Wine Festival which was on Valentine’s day. It was our friends Scott & Tina Douglas 19 year wedding anniversary. I love chocolate & love wine, but never have known how to pair them. Learned some great combos & discovered some memorable wine Recession Red is my new fave. Great day!

Struck out here last weekend. Took the gf, first visit. Really liked the location, atmosphere, and layout. Live music happening, which wasnt very good, but they had plenty of seating on the opposite side of the building which was great for people like me. Staff was really friendly. Ordered a pizza, house IPA, and a glass of some sort of blush wine which the gf really liked. My ipa was undrinkable… tasted like a really bad knockoff of Ninkasi’s ipa. Not a deal breaker though as everyone doesnt like the same thing, kinda goes with the territory when it comes to microbrews. I planned to get something else when i picked up the pizza… but after 45 minutes the pizza still hadnt arrived. After seeing people who arrived after us with their food, i checked the bottom of the pager to see if it was charged(it was-green light). Went to the bar to check, a bit of confusion then it was decided our pizza was the one behind the bar. A debate about whether or not it wasactually cold… i took the pizza back to our table anyways. Hostess came back to check on us right as i took a bite out of a dead cold soggy pizza. Not good. We declined a replacement, and were given a $ 20 refund for the $ 14 pizza which i thought was pretty nice of them and covered the cost of that ipa which was still sitting on the table. Really want to like this place so may try again in a couple months… but there was clearly some sort of kitchen issue happening as a brie was sent back to be warmed upwhile we were waiting, and there was a shouting match in the kitchen as well. Hoping we just hit it on an off night.
