I work in Battle Ground and as such occasionally I need to supply lunch from the bevy of options that dot Main Street within my meager 30 minute break to refuel. One option that has been surprising of late is Safeway, right at Main Street and Highway 503, the very heart of Battle Ground. Within a very short amount of time I can walk in to the store and have four soup options to choose from in a self service bar, I usually get the Stompin’ Steakhouse Chili. Believe me, I am a chili head, I have entered and done very well in chili competitions in the Southwest and up here, it’s good chili. There is a full deli with sandwiches, a full Chinese restaurant and if you’re creative there is the bakery and the deli area with pre-packaged meat, cheese and the such. Dessert? Doughnuts, candy, fruit, cookies is all for the taking. Beverages can be bought either in the can, bottle or package as well as a soda fountain at the deli. I usually walk out full for as little as $ 4.00 The staff here is always friendly and helpful, they even supply a little seating area to eat your selections there without balancing it on your lap or risking your rich Corinthian Leather in your car. Safeway… wow, who would have thought?

Review a Safeway, they are all the same they say. NOT. They bag your groceries and then leave at the end of the counter. No I do not mind I will reach over all your crap and get my own bags. Bring it to their attention and I got a gift card to Safeway saying I’m so sorry that is not how it is supposed to be. Spend the gift card uh huh I still had to grab my own bags. Safeway has coupon rules and guidelines. But this Safeway decides all the rules for themselves. Acting as if the coupons come out of the employees checks. Heads up DIANNE, your company gets reimbursed for the coupons. I was going to give one star but Aaron is so amazing there that one of the stars is just for him.
