I believe the name of this place is now SEK Thrift Store. Same address and everything. Anyway, not too incredibly jazzed about it, although they do support a food bank so for me that took the rating from 3 stars up to four. It’s cute on the outside and doesn’t really look like a thrift store but fits in more with Route 66 nostalgia of the area. Once inside, it’s about the size of a roomy two car garage or perhaps the family room in a large private home. Not a lot to see, really. They have pretty dated merchandise and pricing is a simple scheme where almost every item is the same price. So with that, you can find some amazing deals and then a lot of things that are not quite worth the price. It’s a wash, really. I saw an ad for this store in a local magazine and I think my expectations were a bit too high going in. It’s not bad. Currently they’re open Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, so hurry over if you’re not a Baxter Springs resident and want to check it out. I think they’re open most(if not all) weekdays, too.
