BaySail – Appledore Tall Ships

My husband & I sailed on the appledore V last night (⁸⁄₂₇). There were not enough seats for all the people on board. The food was not eatable with raw chicken. There was no narration as we aren’t from the area & didn’t know where we were sailing to. The only good part was that they boys that, were doing all the work were very pleasant. I do NOT recommend this for a relaxing sailing trip.

I would have given ZERO stars if it were possible. First off, we were wary enough when we were told that they have a no refunds policy. Didn’t think that their bad business practices would extend to customer service. Unfortunately, it does. Secondly, we were informed that the confirmation email would have the information we need. NOT the case. Not only was it missing the address but there was no contact information should you have any questions when you’re trying to find the marina they are docked at. Lastly, since they do sail rain or shine (IT WAS POURING) they should at least offer ponchos or sell them.
P. S. It was wonderful being laughed at by the staff while me and my party were getting soaked while they were taking their time to check us in. Needless to say, we didn’t bother to board. If we’re going to risk pneumonia, at the very least, it would be nice if the staff was bearable. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE VISITING FROM OUT OF TOWN AND WANT A UNIQUE WAY TO EXPLORE THE SITES WITH YOUR FAMILY

We’ve sailed with them every year and have had a consistent experience every time.
This year, the day we went, there were only four of us (paying customers) on the boat with three staff, and they still went out rather than canceling, so we practically had the ship to ourselves for the day. Awesome to experience.
Food sails are catered by Fusion 1 Café in Bay City. Good basic deli sandwich, a fruit, and usually a noodle salad or similar.
