Meijer

Back in MI, state of birth. Got to stop by Meijer. This place was the original super store before there even was a Wal Mart. Was not disappointed, good selection, clean store, friendly service!

Don’t let the old school Meijer façade fool you. Yes, it looks like the Meijer typical storefront from the 80’s, with all of the windows, the canopy in front, and the tight check outs with little room for your cart to move while leaving, but the store is well stocked and very clean and bright on the inside.
We stopped in for a load up of food since we are boycotting Walmart. The selection is wonderful, although the people watching may not be as fun ;p
The prices are competitive, and the produce looked pretty nice. Who knew Meijer sells its own brand of Almond milk? I had no clue! Pretty smart, these Dutch geniuses!
The line for checkout was nothing compared to what I’ve seen at Wallyworld, and the customer service is awesome as well.
Actually, the people watching part isn’t too boring… We did see two women in line with mullets– score! Styling and profiling… it’s all good here. :)
It wasn’t too crowded for a Saturday night either… another score!

We stop here both on the way and sometimes on the down from traveling up north. The Cracker Barrel has influence.
However, the people at the Meijer Gas Station are the tops and should be commended. Very customer service oriented, knowledgeable and friendly. The main store is your typical Meijer but again, we find the employees to cheerful and eager to help.
Check out the clearance racks at both the gas station and the store for gems. We found organic food items on clearance and bought them all.

Way better than Walmart. Just has a better feel and the pricess are better.
