We were blessed to have Reverend Greg Coles officiate at our wedding. While our wedding was in Kansas City, he has since relocated to Bay City, Michigan and we will miss him dearly. The people of Bay City are blessed to have such a wonderful man come to their community. The story of how we found Greg is a long one, so I’ll skip to why we loved him. Greg not only listened to what we wanted, he took notes, and implemented exactly that. He created the perfect, original wedding ceremony that reflected the values of my husband, myself, and our families. He completely respected our wishes while bringing a beautiful sense of reverence and sanctity to the unique proceedings. And it was unique. For example, our ring bearer was my 70-year old uncle, and Greg totally supported it. In preparing for the ceremony, he provided us with a few sample ceremonies. Then met with us to get to know us better, and hear what we envisioned for our ceremony. He drafted a ceremony for us to review, and we provided comments. He then provided us with a final version. My husband and I are very… hands-on is a very nice way to put it. So, we made lots of small changes to the first draft and Greg was fine with that. So many of our other vendors got territorial when we suggested changes to things. But not Greg, he was a joy to work with! But, in all honesty, the first draft was great and would have been perfect just at he originally wrote it. As I said, Greg really listened and because of that, he caught our voices and intention perfectly. After the ceremony one of my cousins, who had eloped 8 years prior came up to my husband and I and gave us the best complement possible. He said that our ceremony had been so touching that it had inspired him and his wife to renew their vows. We were blessed to have Greg prepare our ceremony and officiate. I hope that you create a ceremony that you love as much as we loved ours.
