Menu looked amazing– we tried to order a pickup order online today. We drove there to get it and they wouldn’t let us in and just told us ‘no’ with no explanation. The website said they couldn’t get a hold of the Resturant either. Even though they were suppose to be open until 7:30. Very strange. I would call to see or they are open before you order.

A hidden gem on Bay Harbour Island. Tons of food and coffee options, not expensive, and very kind service.

We biked up to Bal Harbour earlier this week and stopped here for lunch on the way back south. We were looking for vegetable empanadas, but only a variety of meat ones were left. The owner offered to make us some cheese & onion and corn-filled empanadas, and they were worth the wait!

What a wonderful family owned café. Cozy feel and welcoming staff(even the kids got into it and helped with bringing food to the table). There were so many items to choose from, and so little time to eat all of them in one sitting — although I really wished I could have. I ordered the egg white omelette with tomatoes, basil, and cheese. It came with four half-slices of toasted buttered bread. For such a simple dish, it was executed so well. The seasoning was perfect, the freshness of the basil and tomatoes stood out, and the buttery bread just completed the dish so beautifully. I really should have ordered another plate of that. In addition, their coffees were ridiculously good. They have whole beans that you can buy, and they roast them for you on the spot! The whole café just smelled like coffee aromatic heaven! I got a cortadito and a cappuccino. I mean, why not?! Plus, the owners honored my complimentary cappuccino, since I checked in on Unilocal!Double yay! One of my friends loved the coffee so much, she had the owners roast some more coffee so she could take it home with her. Of course, as if I haven’t had enough in my belly, I ordered one of their fresh squeezed juices. I believe it had oranges, carrots, ginger and other stuff I can’t remember in it. It was refreshing, with the ginger definitely giving it that special bite I loved. Gotta get in some nutrition on my vacation! My friends also ordered other wonderful items, like the tuna salad, fried kibbe, hummus and salad, and a meat filled omelette. The kibbe was new to me. But, I liked it. It had a hard outer shell made of bulgur wheat, and inside it was filled with a ground meat mixture full of various spices — just delicious! Two of our friends could not finish their tuna salad or kibbe. So, my other friend and I got a chance to try out their dishes as well. =) Now, since there was really only one or two staff members at the counter taking our orders and making each entrée/drink one at a time, it’s probably not a café for people who have to grab their food and go quickly. Since our group could let time pass as we waited for our food, we didn’t mind the wait too much. Plus, it was raining that day, and we were in no hurry to get back out there to just get soaking wet. The parking lot is small. So maybe street parking would be your next bet during busy times? We were lucky because we took an Über to get here. Otherwise, I highly recommend you stop by this place for some fresh, delicious, made from scratch food.

Ordered delivery from seamless app. Delivery took 30 minutes linger than advetized. Driver could not find the house, he was on the wrong street and not using his smartphone’s gps. Wish i could take that tip back. The restaurant ran out of bagels so they had to change our order. Food was tasty but they sent us our smoothies without straws so we had to eat them with a spoon. Sorry, but never again. Not worth the $ 80 for 1 waffle, 3 pancakes 2 bagels and a couple of smoothies.

Killer empenadas! I’ve had them a few times, but had never been thr the store. My wife and I dropped our daughter off at school and needed to kill some time, so we came for breakfast. I ordered the spicy beef empenada and my wife got the tuna empenada. The spicy beef empenada is perhaps the best empenada I’ve had, with a nice heat to it. The service was good and friendly

Check my reviews and you’ll see that I never rate any restaurant bad. My experience with this establishment was ridiculous. I ordered online and after 40 min of waiting, I get a call that they want to close and can’t make my food. I never complain and would be fine with that, but to make me and my friends wait 40min then cancel is absurd. This is a very disorganized place and i will definitely be warning my friends from ordering from here

I don’t write many reviews, but this is what a real café should be, real coffee and real pastries. The ladies that work here are very polite and very helpful. Just coffee alone there are about 40 – 50 different options!

Love this little area of three restaurants. Great place to go after school drop off and have coffee and breakfast. Unico is small, so unless you are ordering something premade it can take a bit. But the food is great and the staff is nice so if you aren’t in a rush it is worth it. If you are in a rush the empanadas are the way to go, especially if you can get a tuna one. They are incredible. Sadly, they are almost never available. Today we got a spicy chicken, a beef with olive and a second beef one that was more of a pastry then an empanada, but had same filling. The pastry was a bit sweeter then the empanada one, but both were great. And the spicy chicken is filled with a generous amount of chicken that really does have a nice kick to it. They really do deserve five stars, but since I’m obsessed with the tuna empanadas and they didn’t have today, I’m giving four.

April W. is on the money. I’m sipping the cawfee as I write and trust this NY born addict, the coffee is fantastic. I am always in search of spots that offer a comfy place for respite, warm service and good food. This is your spot! Go out of your way to visit Unico, you’ll thank me. Let’s begin with the ample and FREE parking!!! I’m a NYer living on South Beach. My cost of living is too high! I’d practically give you my child in exchange for anything free at this point in life! So I was delighted to pull in and park with ease. Upon walking in I was greeted with a delicious smell of coffee(single brew!) and the warmest of greetings. The space has a warm, local hood sort of vibe and you just know whatever you order is going to be good. The menu is epic and includes all day breakfast, wraps, panini… there’s even a Kid’s Menu. There are veggie, chicken and fish options. You have lovely Italian and Middle Eastern favorites as well as a huge selection(16 flavors!) of empanada. I chose a Caprese and a chicken empanada to bring home to my partner. I ordered a veggie wrap which is hummas and salad on a spinach wrap. I’m not into goop or saucy stuff(I’m saucy enough), so the thin shmear was perfect for me. If you like a lot of goop, you might ask for extra. I do wish the wrap had been loaded with more veggies/salad and will request that in the future. That said, the wrap was fresh and very tasty. It’s actually large enough that I put half in the fridge. Mikie devoured the empanada(as per usual) and reported that while both were good, the Caprese was the standout. The smoothie I got for Baby Sage was spinach, banana and strawberry… I brought it to him after a busy morning in camp. He was in 2 year old heaven. The treat was the crazy low bill. I paid 14 bucks for cawfee, a smoothie, the wrap and two empanada! Hit this gem of a spot!!!

I ordered a capoucino and banabread for myself, and that was delicious, it’s a nice chill place to hang out with one or two people at a time. My friend had a cinamon roll with alnonds, which also really delicious. Overall, really enjoyed the place.
