I’m so lucky to live close by, though my waist isn’t, to this authentic Pinoy place. The ladies who work here are so sweet and really helpful. I know adobo and pansit but they are happy to tell me about their other foods too. Plus its also a grocery store so you can pick up banana sauce to go with your lumpia. I highly recommend this place if your looking for real home made Phillipino food.

Every now and again my family and I get the case of the blues because we miss our motherland The Philippines. Sure, we cook the native food at home, but we were yearning for products from the Asian country and products popular from there as well. We came upon this place when we were on our way back from church. I noticed re relatively large sign saying Manilla Plaza. The word Manilla, which happens to be the capital of the Philippines, stood out in relatively large letters. We decided to park on the street. The little parking lot on the right of the store was full. Luckily the street parking we did make was right in front of this new thing we found. Upon entering this place, my mom muttered a word in Tagalog(the official language of the Philippines.) She had this huge smile on her face, and when I saw what she saw, a smile formed on my own face. Two little huts seemingly made from plants was off to the right and under them were people eating. There was a little TV set beside the huts showing a popular show called TFC. Time to explore! Walking further in, we let our excited selfs examine the store even more. I found shampoos that are popular in the Philippines. I found one of my favorite desserts called puto and babingka. There were all the veggies that Filipinos love to use in their dishes. There fish and meats being sold. They sold phone cards so one can call the Philippines. INCREDIBLE. It was a little taste of home. The owners were so nice to us. Of course, they spoke to us in our homeland’s language. They laughed with us about certain television shows. Whenever we asked if they had this ingredient they would know what dish we wanted to make. Besides tons of snacks, fresh meat and veggies, housewares, the typical sodas and whatnot, they also sold freshly cooked Filipino dishes. They cooked Tilapia, lumpia, sisig, adobo, beef steak, etc. Of course, the way they cool isn’t better than my grandma’s cooking, but the food is one of the best I have eaten outside the family. Top spot!

I only have one complaint, and that’s they don’t check the sell by date on their products. It’s April and some chicharon bags are dated February. No matter, I came for the turo turo. The food is delicious. The sinigang is thick, like my mother used to make. They have pieces of gabi(taro) and perhaps mashed some, too. My mother used to mash it and add it to the soup. The beef was fork tender, so was their menudo, no liver, thank God, and the lady at the counter gave me a free, small, banana. This is my second time here. I was working in the area again and thought I’d see if they were open. In the summer time it is sweltering inside, but today, it wasn’t so bad. It’s still spring, but I remember the first time I ate here, it was quite uncomfortable. I watched TV Patrol, too, while I ate. I’m up to date with the current events in the Philippines and I had a good, home cooked meal. They also have tables enclosed in a «bahay kubo» or hut, on a raised platform, too, if on wanted to pretend they were going native. Quirky.

The food here is amazing! Amazingly authentic Filipino food. Great Lumpia, adobo, and coconut juice. I go here to buy pre made Lumpia and delicious Lumpia sauce. They always have hot food ready to go and food to also take home and cook. Great store :) My family comes here often and I bring all my coworkers as well.

My husband told me about this place. This is the closest to my moms cooking. Food is delicious and the owner is very nice. She made sure I sampled the food to make sure I like it first before purchasing. This place is now my extended kitchen when craving Filipino food.

The owner is very friendly and nice. In addition to Filipino grocery items, they also sell fresh meat, seafood, veggies and fruit. They also cater and sell daily dishes ranging from Tinola(chicken ginger soup) to Kaldereta(Filipino style beef stew). I placed a catering order with them and prior to doing so, the owner had me try a few of the dishes. Yummy! So glad we have this close to home.

Good food! They have varieties of filipino food as well as other groceries! The food is pretty decent. I personally like their adobo and grilled tilapia. They have a cute hut where you can eat and enjoy your meal. Service is great. Friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is also served here!

My sister & I stopped by here on Saturday for lunch. We each got 20 Lumpias & a drink totaling us $ 5.41 each, the lumpias were the bomb & the cashier was nice friendly & had no problem ringing us up or over charging us. In all we are extremly satisfied in fact I just placed an order of 40 lumpias for my families dinner tonight. My only complaint is that it was a little hot in the store, but other than that, very satisfied customer!

Disclaimer– I am related to the owner. I am not big on filipino food, but I LOVE all their daily prepared foods. The restaurant is clean, and the food is always reliable in flavor and taste. Prices are beyond reasonable for the amount of food you get and this is the only oriental store Ive been in that doesnt have a smell. They have everything you can think of that not only caters to filipino but other cultures as well. give them a try, and see what you’ve been missing out on.

We went to Manila Plaza to see what this store was all about. The website looked pretty enticing, when I got there it was a totally different story. I asked to order a plate shown on the wall but the employee said they only serve what’s in the hot trays. Everything looked like it had been there for days. I still wanted to buy something so I went to the frozen section and picked out a bag of lumia and a bag of siopao, I also go a couple other little things. I waited about 8 mins before she could ring me up because the cashier had to keep leaving to do price checks, finally it was my turn. The cashier begain to ring me up, the siopao rang up $ 2 more then the sign said. I told the cashier and she said there is nothing she could do about the price, so I said then I’ll go ahead and put it back, the cashier then said she already scanned it and she could not take it off… she said NO, ANDWEHADTOBUYIT… and she could not bother her boss. So we left, I’ll never go back there again! Lucky for me I caught it before I paid.

I catered here for my daughter’s baptism — i ordered leche flan, carioca(brown sugary balls covered with coconut), bibinka, and the lumpia shanghai to feed at least 200 people. And I spent less than $ 200 for everything. I got a ton of compliments from my guests. The food was good! I hope this place doesn’t go anywhere, due to the fact that it is located in the middle of little mexico lol(surrounded by taquerias and mexican grocery stores). The workers are really friendly and the best spot to go to in Bay Point when you’re in dire need of some Jufran!
