This has been my place ever since I was a little girl. The staff here are beyond friendly and they always have a smile on their face. The food here is great, especially their egg sandwiches. Never a long wait for your food as well — overall a great place.

Yeah… this place looks like something out of a scary movie. Yeah… this place has some of the best food around. Deal with the look, us regulars do(or actually, stay away… we don’t want our diamond in the ruff packed with people). This is our GOTO spot for lunch. In here 3 – 4 times a week. I wonder why nobody else mentioned the DAILY hot food and ever changing menu… okay well the menu changes every day but it repeats(good, we like the food). Every day in the morning is hot food… and at lunch is hot food. They change the food around every day at lunch. One day it’s ribs, the next day it’s fish, the next day it’s meatloaf, another day it’s chicken. well theres always chicken and rice, come on this is Bay Shore(North Bay Shore)… gotta have chicken/rice dishes. Staff are really friendly, they become a part of your day. They know the regulars, know what you order. It’s hard to choose what you want to eat. Prices are GREAT. VERY generous portions(be warned). Small/Medium/Large and they WILL fill them up to the top. Mix/match whatever you want. Sandwiches are good also, although I don’t order them that often(because I love the hot food). I’ll even order cold cuts here sometimes(hey it’s a deli with Boar’s Head meat). Big selection of drinks and those«odds/ends» your typical«bodega» may have. As others said it looks scary, but it’s a great deli to have in the neighborhood.

I’m from out of town and looked for a place with good reviews on Unilocal.Food was pretty good but place is extra dirty. I don’t know if I would go back based on the dust build up on the fans, door entrance, and grease on walls and vents of kitchen area. If you can get passed the uncleanliness then the food was good.

I call this place the«dirty deli»…cause well… it’s a bit dirty looking. I work in close proximity to this place so I get lunch from here fairly often, and I have to say the food as well as the prices are good. I get a large salad with grilled chicken, peppers and onions for ~$ 7. In deli pricing I consider that a deal. Their sandwiches(while not the healthiest) are also priced reasonably, and quite tasty. Big size for a deli too with plenty of parking.

This is a super sized version of your corner deli. Most deli’s can’t have more than 3 people in then before you’re dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodging other customers. I mean, they have a fully functioning pizza shop in the corner. Busting out full pies and everything. That being said, it also has the faults of those corner deli’s. It’s totally dingy inside. Noting’s been changed in decades(besides the 2 hanging flat screes, which are dope while you’re waiting for a ‘wich) and you can argue over the expiration date of some of the less popular items on their shelves. Then again, why are you purchasing those items? You’re here for a sandwich, and they do those pretty well. All of your typical deli faves are here and some added special sammies that are listed inside. They are made at a decent pace and will get you out the door and to the ferry(my go-to stop before FI) right on time. Hungry and headed off of Exit 42? Come on in.

Freezing inside during the winter. Traditional Deli with all expected; hero menu, hot items, cold salads, and the NY Attitude when ordering. Solid.

Best Potato and COLESLAW I have ever tasted. Don’t live close to it. but I travel 45 minutes for the fourth of July to get their delicious salads. Don’t know much about anything else there but that is all that matters to me.

WARNING! This place is nothing to look at. The perimeter fence is dilapidated and a little rusty. The outside of the building looks like there has not been maintenance person on site in eons. But once you get inside, well honestly the scenery doesn’t really change. Everything looks just old. The deli counter old, the pizza ovens also old, the small dining space with horrid mechanics break room quality Formica tables and chairs, that are so old that maybe they’re coming back in style(not), are incredibly old. Let face it the place is nothing to look at in any regard. If you can get over that issue, you can get a very nice sandwich. Their deli section looks rather ordinary but the creations that come out of here are truly delightful. I’ve eaten here twice doing some work in the area and the first time I orders just what someone else was having not knowing the menu. It was a chicken type here with some muenster cheese a special dressing and some peppers. This was on a fresh hero with tasty chicken and a dressing that I could not recognize. Trust me I really tried even resorting to licking it off my fingers(purely for investigative purposes you understand). The second visit I had them make on of my favorite sandwiches, hot pastrami and bacon with spicy brown mustard and provolone. They nailed it. I was sold. One of the my great barometers for lunch time is the quality of the bacon. A lot of placed cook their daily requirements in the AM and live off it all day. That means the lunch bacon is old and stale and usually pretty tough on the chompers. Bacon that is still crisp at lunch time tells me they know how to manage the kitchen. I have never had their pizza but folks report it as being OK. In general when other report OK it’s usually a FAIL for me, but I’m going to ignore the pizza for now since I haven’t tasted it. In the end I’m going three stars. Four might make people think I’m exaggerating out the aesthetics. «How could a place with four stars have such poor aesthetics?» some might ask. So to avoid this confusion three stars is my final answer. Figure four star food with a one star penalty for ambiance, ’cause there is none.

I love the food at this place and the service is usually really great even on busy Saturday mornings. The deli breakfast and lunch sandwiches are always fresh. Pizza is great. Eat here all the time.
