If you’ve read my reviews you know that I have a knack for finding the most random and interesting places. In the case of Williams Pit BBQ I went searching for a BBQ Restaurant and found something quite different, but quite good. I am a BBQ fanatic. No matter where I go, I search for the best BBQ in the area. While in the bay my search led me here. I plugged the address into my GPS and was a little perplexed when it said I had arrived. I didn’t see a restaurant, but I did see several people hanging out on a porch. I was reluctant to walk up since I didn’t want to impose on a neighborhood gathering, but when I parked and walked up, I was greeted like family. Williams is not your typical BBQ restaurant, but more of a neighborhood food joint. The porch had a food prep area and gas grill and several chairs. Food options were limited, but the lady working the counter recommended their burger and pulled pork. The burger was a massive thin patty that was thrown on a flat griddle on the grill, seasoned and cooked right before my eyes. It was at least twice as big as the bun. The burger wasn’t anything fancy, but it had a great taste and made me feel like I was at a cookout instead of a restaurant. The pulled pork came with sauce added, and just like the burger, wasn’t fancy, but was very good. We chose not to sit on the porch and eat, but did feel very comfortable and welcome to do so if we had wanted to. Don’t come here expecting pomp and circumstance. If you want friendly conversation and good local food, I encourage you to check this place out.
