From the outside we began to wonder if Unilocal led us a stray. You step inside to 4 tables and a countertop. The device was awesome and friendly and the food was delicious. Thanks for a great breakfast before heading to port.

Great little breakfast café that has that mom and pop feel to it. The woman working there is always so nice to my daughter and even asked about her when I didn’t bring her. Their fresh orange juice is great. Everything tastes fresh and you can see them make your food. I’ve had their pancakes and eggs. It was a great little place for us to walk to before we moved. Would love to go back to try their lunch dishes.

Boyfriend and I dropped off his parents at the cruise terminal so we decided to have brunch. Since we weren’t familiar with the area and this place had the best reviews, we decided to give it a try. Best decision ever. The place is tiny but feels cozy and the people were very warm. I had the western omelet and my boyfriend had the chicken sandwich. It was so good! The eggs were fluffy and the potatoes were warm and soft. He even said that his chicken sandwich was amazing and that never happens ! Lol overall a great experience, will definitely come back.

Loved Café Talya! The food was delicious, the staff was warm and friendly. They really gave each customer the attention they deserved and you could tell because they knew a lot of the diners by first name. Will definitely be going back! And the price super reasonable. And the potatoes… YUMMY!

I love coming here, it’s so cozy and everyone is so sweet! I always get the fresh squeezed orange juice. The fruit parfait was AMAZING! I tried most of their omelet and I can’t decide which one is my favorite! I had to write a review because this place is a hidden gem in Bayonne, seriously it’s a must try for breakfast or brunch!

Possibly the best breakfast spot in Hudson County. Whether you choose their Greek, Florentine, wild mushroom, or any of their other signature omlets, I bet you will not be disappointed. Breakfast here is exactly what is in your mouth-watering mind; your image of the perfect breakfast. Enjoy!

Super service and food — deserts were among the best encountered anywhere and appetizers were outstanding. Sauces are fine but not standout for entrée(desert and appetizer sauces were awesome). Staff/service was exceptional for 25th wedding anniversary.

Great Breakfast spot! My boyfriend loves this place, breakfast is his favorite meal. The staff is super friendly. My favorite is their Turkish coffee, it’s so good! If you’re ever in the Bayonne area definitely swing by here you won’t regret it!

This was such a delightful treat. The server was fast, attentive and really friendly. The food came fast and the presentation was cute with the ribbon sliced orange. My husband got the French toast with bacon and it was seriously divine. It tasted like a zeppolie with the powder sugar goodness all over. I got the classic breakfast and the home fries just out shined everything. It’s just that good! I was super surprised how good this place is! This is the definition of the statement«a hidden gem». I’m coming back again, and again… Definitely a new loyal customer.

Great little place, lots of love behind the counter. Waiting for your Turkish coffee to be made in the little copper pot on the stove is torture! It’s not something I crave everyday, but when you want a sweet jolt it fits the bill. The blueberry pancakes are terrific, lots of fresh vegetables(tons of ripe, red peppers) in the Western omelet, the fresh oj is great. Only quibble I have is that the home fries are deep fried, not done on a flat top. I look forward to having some of the ethnic Turkish food going forward. And can you put a price on having the local Elvis impersonator sitting down alongside you? Edited to add-Another plus, I visited the restroom today to wash my hands-and it was spotless!

When they first opened, they already had 30 reviews and a Unilocal banner up. Most of the reviewers didn’t even have 10 reviews under their belt, but were clamming at a chance to write a review for this place. I quickly assumed that they paid Unilocal for the reviews(the super secret Illuminati Unilocal Reviews Starter Package). I felt like I was being duped by Unilocal. This itty bitty corner joint is the 3rd most reviewed restaurant in Bayonne, behind a Great Mexican restaurant and a high traffic NJ Diner. Suspect? Who are these reviewers? I had their food. It was cheap, but the portions reflected that. If I paid double, I would get double that portion and then I would be compelled to say they serve huge portions, because the price wasn’t so outrageous. The food selections are very limited. It’s very basic food. Bacon, eggs, toast. Just really basic. My family loves this place. Why? I have no clue. Maybe because it doesn’t suck and it’s not filthy. It’s definitely cozy and tucked away in a non-business area in Bayonne. Not sure, but having a cult following as soon as they opened, had me skeptical of this Unilocal phenomenon. At first, I was going to give this place 2 stars, but that would put them on the same level as most NJ Diners I would review. They are better than Jersey Diners so I think that they deserve 3 stars. If they developed a signature burger, then I would buy into the 4 – 5 star reviews. BTW-Nice people that work here too.

I love this place! The food is fresh and yummy! The service is great and everyone is family there. I wish they were open later on weekdays because I only get to spoil myself on the weekends. But I look forward to it every time! I had the Italian omelet & my cousin had the veggie omelet, we were both very satisfied with our meals. I was craving pancakes so I got a short stack on the side. Our bill was under $ 25. It’s so crazy to me how I leave so satisfied and barely spend any money. I’ve been here multiple times and will continue to visit! Great local spot in my hometown :)

Having just moved into the neighborhood, I Unilocaled the neighborhood, eager to find a breakfast spot. I was pleased to find this place opens at 8AM. I walked in at 8:30, when there was only one other customer, and was greeted warmly by the matron, who, when she saw me walk up to the bar, offered me a seat at the front table, which has the most sunlight and is surrounded by plants. I ordered a Turkish breakfast, which comes with breakfast potatoes(homefries with sautéed onions and red and green peppers), 2 sunny side up eggs, and Turkish sausage, which looks and tastes like spicy chorizo. All of it was nicely accented with sea salt and cracked pepper. On the side, 2 slices of French bread were laid on a plate with jelly, jam, butter, feta cheese, pitted olives, and dates. It was just the right amount of food. I finished with a Turkish coffee, which is like an espresso, but sweetened. Everything was made perfectly and delicious. I will definitely return.

As I get older, I develop a deeper appreciation for the small neighborhood businesses. I walked into Café Talya and I immediately noticed how they already had customers, regulars I bet, even on a crappy snowy day. The place is small and quaint and has an old diner feel with stools at the counter and an open kitchen. We were immediately greeted and seated. I felt very at home at Café Talya. The place eventually got more customers coming in. You know a place is good when even on a snowy day, it gets busy. As for the food, I am equally as satisfied. I had the Cheyenne(Cayenne?.. I forget) Breakfast which was really really good. The bacon was a little salty(hence the 4 stars) but I didn’t mind. I still loved it. My brother had the Talya omelet which I was able to try and was also good! I had coffee with my breakfast and my brother had the freshly squeezed orange juice. We wanted to try their handmade apple cookies but they have to be pre-ordered. It is $ 24 for one dozen. I definitely want to order one day! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who wants a no frills non-pretentious neighborly café vibe. This café belongs on my top breakfast places list and I definitely would go back and try the other choices on the menu.

AWESOME food, service & value! We stopped by after a day of enjoying Liberty State Park on 55 degree day in December. The menu had lunch selections to please all age groups. The burgers, chicken sandwiches, Caesar salad(with grilled chicken) &(yes) chocolate chip pancakes were great. The grilled cheese with tomato & bacon as well as the chicken were exceptional… Yum. Friendly service. Looking for a great informal breakfast, brunch or lunch spot? Look no further than this Bayonne gem!

This is the diner/café I’ve been searching for since I moved to Jersey! Simple, friendly and inexpensive. A place where everyone knows each other and a cup of coffee is $ 1. My personal favorite is the Western Omelette with breakfast potatoes and a cup of Turkish coffee.(Though the regular coffee is pretty great too). Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re a diner type like me. Pop in and say hello, I’ll be at the table in the back.
