Thanks to Unilocal I discovered this new hair salon that offers friendly and reliable services. After having my hair destroyed by Akiko at Sei Tomoko’s salon in E. Village, I found this place. Although it wasn’t the best haircut it wasn’t the worst either. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning here

This was my first time at this salon. It is a friendly neat salon. I called in an hour before for a haircut and was accommodated. Cut/​blow dry by Donna. she was fantastic! Very genuine and gives honest opinion regarding your hair, any questions you may have. Hair was voluminous and had a great blow dry along with haircut. Highly recommend. U

LOVE THIS SALON. My mother has been coming here forever, and now I do as well. We get cut by JoAnne who always takes care of us and tells us exactly what needs to be done! This salon is HIGHLY recommended.

Incredible hair salon! I’m a 19 year old guy and I’ve always gone to my local barber shop, and I didn’t really know what to expect from a hair salon; but I gotta hand it to them, the hair dressers in All About You are fantastic! I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone whether your young, old, male or female

I’ve been going to All About You for a couple of years now and they always know how to take care of me. I get my hair highlighted and cut and they always do the best job. Everyone there is so friendly and it is a very small, cute environment. I’ve gotten my hair done by Kara, Amanda, and Donna and they never disappoint. The fact that I let Donna cut my hair short means I trust her, so you should too! I highly recommend this salon to anyone of any age! :)

A new & satisfied customer here! I came here on the recommendation of a friend for my wedding hair styling. Went in for a trial and wound up booking with them and returning first for highlights, which I had never gotten before, but love the way they came out, and am always getting complimented on! They look very natural, which is exactly what I was hoping for! I worked closely with Donna, and on the wedding day her & Kara both came to do hair for me and my bridal party. They are both super nice and do great work. They’re honest with what each of their strengths are, so they know how to get through a large group like ours. My bridal hair (a low/​side up do) came out even better than I expected! Highly recommend them for anything hair related, wedding or everyday. They are closed Sun-​Tue, but they’re willing to make exceptions if they’re available, which I really appreciated. Much thanks to Donna & team for a job well done!

I’ve been visiting Kara for the past 4 years for cut and highlights and love her! I first met her at a different salon for one visit years ago but when she moved to All About You, I followed her! I originally lived in Queens when I came here but moved to Manhattan and travel back to Bayside for my hair appointments. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend them!

I’ll never go anywhere else for a haircut — seriously! I’ve been going to Kara to get my hair washed, cut, blown-​out, and styled since I was in high school. She does a fantastic job every time! Everyone in the salon is SO sweet and after your cut or style is done they will make you feel like a total bombshell, shouting compliments from left and right. It’s a wonderful atmosphere, everyone is laughing and having a blast and they always do an amazing job. I live in Manhattan and still come home because there’s no place like it!

I have had a pixie cut for the past 5 years but only cut my hair ~twice a year because every salon I go to either a) does an amazing job but costs half my rent or b) is cheap and cuts my hair like a military man. As a result, I cut my hair only when it resembles a mop-​mullet.
In late April, I felt like one of those little dogs with the long «bangs» who can’t see because of their hair and keep twitching their head to move the hair out of the way. I quickly found the closest hair salon to my new apartment and hoped that they could get me in without an appointment.
When I arrived, the place was more packed than a bar at happy hour — there were tons of friendly women cutting hair, shampooing, and TALKING. This place was abuzz with conversation. The lovely lady (Donna, I believe) was able to cut my hair right then and there and she did a perfect job. I walked out with the perfect feminine pixie cut. What I loved about All About You was that the hairdressers talked to you while they cut. I could tell from looking at the other patrons that this place likes to keep their customers — most of the women were chatting with their stylist about their families and life like they were best friends.
And here’s the cherry on top — my haircut was $ 27. Twenty seven!!! I know Auburndale isn’t in everyone’s backyard, but I’d recommend this place to anyone in NYC.

I went to All About You for the first time a few weeks ago. I was looking for a small local place that’s friendly and cares about the customer and I went to the right place. They were very friendly and took great care and also offered suggestions and tips on better care for your hair. I was so happy with them that I made another appointment after my haircut to get an updo for an upcoming event that I am going to.

I’ve been going to All About You for years and it truly lives up to its name. The atmosphere is very inviting and the stylists are all so warm and friendly. JoAnne has been cutting and coloring my hair for years and she’s not only a wonderful stylist but a really good person. And if you’re lucky enough to get Annette to wash your hair, you will feel like you paid a lot of money for a professional head massage. I’ve been recommending this place for years and everyone ends up a devoted client.

I have been coming to All About You for almost 5 years and I have NEVER been disappointed! Donna is especially amazing. I have allowed her to experiment on my hair with cuts, color, and styles and she never ceases to amaze me! I just went in for a trim and lowlights and I could not believe how natural the color came out. I had been experimenting with other salons before but none left me as happy as All About You. If you are looking for a new place or just want a change I would definitely recommend trying them out!

I love this place! The ladies are always friendly, from making an appointment, to the consultation and service. Amanda always colors my hair exactly the way I want it and Jeanine has become a must for a great cut that always gets me compliments! It’s close to home and there is plenty of parking! If you are looking for a new place there is plenty of talent here to suit your needs… promise.

I have been getting my highlights done by Amanda for about 5 years now… and though throughout the five years I have tried 2 other hairstylists… they don’t come close to the way Amanda does highlights… she listens to exactly what you want and the finish product is always perfection… they look as close to natural as natural is… she has a great attitude and sense of humor as do all the women in the shop.
I get my haircut by Donna, who also never does a haircut short of perfection. again, she listens to what you want and also gives advice on what will look good. the entire staff of all about you has a positive energetic attitude that will keep you smiling and laughing throughout your stay!

I’ve been here twice for haircuts and both times I have been very happy. I’ve seen Kara. She is very sweet and attentive and gives great cuts! I have naturally curly hair and I’ve had it butchered in the past by unknowledgeable stylists. This has not been the case with Kara. In fact, when I first went to her, I was in the process of growing out a butchered cut and my hair was in a VERY awkward state. She fixed it right up and made it look awesome! She doesn’t pressure you into products or other treatments, either. She’s very down-​to-​earth and personable and I enjoy my time in the chair with her. The prices are very reasonable and they have a rewards card system (ask about it!). Can’t wait to go back for my next trim! May even venture into color with her ;-)

I’m a first timer at All About Me and I had a great experience. Kara took the time to talk about my type of hair and which colors and cut would look best on me. I wasn’t rushed in and out. It’s a cute, friendly environment. I would said YES, give this place a try. I’ll be back.
