Don’t expect to get your typical classic Vietnamese Bahn Mi sandwich here because this is a fusion store. With that statement out of the way, what they do offer tasted grrrrrreeeeeat! Can’t speak to service as I did a pick up for lunch but the lady behind the counter was friendly, made a awesome Vietnamese Iced Coffee(strong and not too sweet) and packed everything neatly. Had the Pork Belly, Steak and Disco fries which we enjoyed. The only thing we would nitpick about is the Pork Belly Bahn Mi didn’t seem to have any grilled bacon in it and the Steak Bahn Mi couldn’t taste the bacon au jus. Whether or not it was in there, it looked and tasted so good that we forgot to snap any photos. All that was left was the menu to share with you all.

Came here with friends for lunch! We got here a little after 12pm and there was no one in the restaurant. It’s a small and cozy restaurant on Bell Blvd that can easily be missed but the place was not bad at all. The décor was chic and the tables were all clean. The cashier was pretty nice. Kimchi fries– The fries were crispy and drizzled wth a very tasty spicy mayo sauce. Piled on top is a small dallop of kimchi. I like how the fries weren’t soggy but overall, I didn’t think the kimchi complimented the fries well. The fries tasted very average. Pork belly banh mi– Very delicious! The pork was juicy and all of the traditional pickled vegetables were present, thus providing great flavors to the sandwich. I would say this is a pretty standard Banh mi place to go to if you’re in the area and are craving this type of food. Prices were reasonable, food was pretty good, and service/décor were nice.

Haven’t eaten a banh mi this delicious since I left the Vietnamese neighborhood I lived in in northern Calif. love the selection of meats or veggie options. The Thai iced tea is so yummy too. The sandwiches always taste fresh, crunchy and flavorful.

Walking into Pâté I was impressed by the modern yet hipster feel of the décor. There is a lot of open space and warm colors that make you feel at home. The music was death cabesque at a reasonable volume. The amicable owner took my order with alacrity and helped me navigate the menu. He gave suggestions and explained the differences of flavor versus just merely directing towards expensive items. This is a family run establishment and his family was at the joint when I came. Points for family businesses! I got the banh mi fries and spicy pork belly rice bowl with spicy chipotle. I asked for garlic yogurt on the side and he obliged. The fries are spiced with a Cajun blend and topped with classic banh mi ingredients such as carrots, daikon, cucumber, and cilantro. The freshness of the ingredients cut through the heaviness of the crispy fries. A very well balanced dish! The only downside is that I would want more of the banh mi vegetables! The pork belly was super tender and crisped to perfection. The jasmine rice overcooked with a little too much water but I didn’t mind because it still tasted good with great textural contrast from the vegetables. The corn didn’t really add much but the chipotle and yogurt sauces livened up the dish. I highly recommend this place! Edit: I asked the establishment for more banh mi veggies and they did! No bureaucracy here!

Amazing, probably the best food on Bell BLVD. Queens has been looking for a place like this. I recommend trying out each and every sandwich. Also the Viet Ice Coffee is amazing. Thanks!

Another place that offers vegetarian options!(Although not many) Nice litter Bahn Mi sandwich place. They don’t offer much, a few sandwich choices, a few rice bowls options, and a few fries options. I ordered the portobello sandwich with Thai Iced Tea. The sandwich is nice, I like Bahn Mi sandwich because it gives you the crunch and the taste that you don’t find in a regular sandwich. This sandwich also offers you the crunch(carrots and cucumbers), the juice(portobello mushroom), nicely placed on a slightly toasted bread. With the Thai Iced Tea, it’s just the perfect portion for me. If you are still hungry, get yourself a fries. The place was pretty quiet when we went in, and event quieter when we left. I am not surprised. While the food is good, they are not hot food that can warm you up in the winter(the rice bowl is more like a cold dish). It is, however, good for the summer when you have no appetite, and need something to stimulate your tastebuds.

My friends and I came here and tried the kimchi fries, the Pork Belly sandwich, the Steak sandwich, and the Cutlet sandwich; all not spicy. All three of the sandwiches were very tasty and we liked the Pork Belly one the best. The kimchi fries were tasty as well and I usually cannot handle spicy foods but it was the right amount of heat. Also, the restaurant’s music is really good. There’s a good amount of seating and the wait for the food was around 15 mins. Overall, I would come here again to eat and I would recommend this place to other people!

Love the classic. Crunchy veggies and crispy baguette with not overpowering meat flavours. They also remove cheese/milk based sauces for lactose I tolerants like me. Wish I remembered to put sriracha in it though!

This place is a cute little Vietnamese sandwich(banh mi) shop with a little twist to it. If you’ve ever been to Joju in Elmhurst, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I’ve tried both the banh mi fries and the kim chi fries, and while they’re pretty good, I really feel like Joju is cheaper & tastier. When I first started coming here, their steak banh mi was delicious, but I feel like the quality of the meat really declined the last 2 times I’ve been here. Also, try to stray away from the pork belly unless you like eating pure fat. I understand that pork belly is fatty, but it really shouldn’t be like, 90% fat. That’s just disgusting. On one of my visits to Pâté, I was craving boba, so decided to grab Coco’s from across the street so that I could enjoy it with my banh mi + fries. The worker there then told me that drinks were not allowed. She inquired as to why I don’t want to order their drinks, and informed me that their drinks are, in fact, very good. Well, I’m sure they are, but until you guys have either a passion fruit green tea w/lychee jelly or a jasmine milk tea w/boba+red bean, I’m not going to order any of your drinks because I don’t care for Thai tea or smoothies. I understand if this were some sort of Michelin restaurant — it would be tacky to bring in boba, but seriously, this is a banh mi shop swimming with high schoolers some days lol.

Came here on a Thursday afternoon and had the whole place to myself. There’s a small narrow parking lot so it’s may be difficult if you have a bigger car. There’s street parking if you walk a block. I ordered the pork belly, regular, portobello mushroom banh mi and kimchi fries. The pork belly was really fatty and didn’t have as much fillings as other places. The real winner is the kimchi fries. Super crispy fries and the perfect amount of spicy. I tried their Vietnamese iced coffee too and it was alright. They made it using coffee from café du monde. Not as good as JoJu but a pretty decent local banh mi spot.

This is a really cool place in the middle of Bayside on Bell Blvd. If you crave bahn mi done right, it beats hunting doen a Vietnamese restaurant. This is the place to go. It’s hatd to find and parking isn’t so easy. The place takes credit cards, but it prefers cash. They’ll take off the tax for you. Bahn Mi sandwiches come in all sorts of wats. The kimchi fries are also a highlight. It’s a nice place to chill bc the set up is like a café.

Great little comfy banh mi place in Bell Blvd! The service is fast and the employees are very nice to their customers. I ordered the pork belly sandwich with a side of banh mi fries and left with a very happy belly. The pork belly was very tender and the flavors of the pickled radish/carrot and cilantro melded very well together. The bread is different compared to the bread that other Banh Mi restaurants serve, it’s harder with more of a bite to it. The banh mi fries here is the amazing, very crispy, well seasoned topped with pickled radish and carrot with this tangy chipotle sauce on top. I definitely recommend you try it. All in all, a great place to chow down.

My husband and I stopped by for something different and quick for dinner. We came in around 6 yesterday and it was dead. I found this place a while back while looking for Vietnamese sandwiches. Found and tried Joju first. Glad we did so we could compare. This place has a good pork belly bahn mi but Joju has better AND cheaper! We got 2 bahn mi, fries and 2 drinks and it was almost $ 40 here. Don’t get me wrong, the flavors here are good but not as good as Joju and for the price and its location, Pâté should consider bringing the sandwiches down by at least $ 1 and I’m sure it would be flooded on a Saturday night.

Pâté has the best Thai iced tea !!! Their kimchi fries are the bomb. It’s bursting with flavor and for $ 4.99 you get a huge portion. Their bahn mi is pretty good but doesn’t hit it out of the park for me. But the best bahn mi there is the pork belly one. Staff is always pleasant and nice Quiet atmosphere for the most part. Clean This place deserves more business than it actually gets. There’s parking but it’s limited. The food does take some time because it’s made fresh to order. Go check this place out!

How can I describe it… overpriced Vietnamese sandwiches filled with bland flavor less meat. I ordered the pork belly and beef sandwich with a side of Banhmi fries which came out to be $ 21. There were only 2 other people eating in the store and they only ordered fries, yet my order took over 25 minutes. The pork belly was cooked to the point that it became pork jerky and gets stuck in your teeth. On top of that, it wasn’t seasoned with any marinade or even salt. The beef was sadly disappointing as well. You would expect they would marinade the meat overnight for flavor but it was just dry flavor less meat. Joju in Elmhurst offers Vietnamese sandwiches which are bursting with flavor and made in less than 10 minutes and the price is $ 2 cheaper for a sandwich. This place receives the extra star because of the large portion of fries they give. Other than that, I would never order a sandwich from this store. Grab fries and go across the street and get a sandwich from That’s a Wrap. If you want a real Vietnamese sandwich, make the drive to Jojus, it’s worth it.

*Closed on Mondays* A friend told me about a Banh Mi spot in Bayside which got me super excited! That Sunday afternoon we drove over to the little plaza on Bell Blvd. Parking is very limited but luckily we were able to get a spot. We entered the establishment and behold, we had the whole place to ourselves! The café is wood themed and very clean and cozy. We sat in the front by the big exterior windows to catch a bit of sun. The walls were decorated with inspirational quotes and the music was calming. I was really digging the music here. Great place for studying and reading. A lot of people were ordering food to go but not so much dining in. My friend and I got the pork belly banh mi, beef banh mi and banh mi fries to share. For drinks I tried the mint lemonade and Thai iced tea. I enjoyed the whole meal. The pork belly was great but mostly fatty meat. The banh mi fries were excellent! Nice and crispy with a hint of spice. The mint lemonade was light and refreshing that I went back and got another one to go. Really happy that I don’t have to travel all the way to Astoria and NYC for a good banh mi place now!

For less than $ 10, this gets five stars. The bread was super fresh last night. Tried the pork belly, steak and grilled tofu, all superb. Kimchi fries are the bomb. Cuz of price(kinda low) and location(between many different bus transfers) there are lots of JHS and HS kids and some can be obnoxious and loud but mostly they’re sad because you watch how a whole group hovers over an order, maybe two, of fries and they all share it. HAHAHAH! Sorry. For grilled tofu, it can def be cheaper but I totally understand that CONTEXT is important: not a lot of nearby competitors for bahn mi, location(got free diagonal parking in the plaza, right by the Clearview and the Cross Island), demand, etc… I’m just being an entitled eater. Love the spicy mayo and the fact that they use lots of cilantro. The spicy pepper condiment was really yummy too. Service couldn’t be better.(Friday 8⁄25 the girl needs a raise and also a colleague — it got so crazy at one point but she was stellar throughout the entire night. So helpful and polite but overwhelmed. Manager, please pay attention.) Will be back for sure.

Was hungry and in the neighborhood, so I decided to try this place out! Before coming in I saw the reviews and what they offered. I got so excited because the only place that I usually get my Kimchi Fries and Pork Belly Banh Mi’s are from JoJu! Upon arrival the interior was very simple, clean, and modern! The staff was very nice and welcoming. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea and a Pork Belly Banh Mi. The drink definitely had the tea flavor, but it lacked the sweetness which is a huge part of what makes a Thai Iced Tea. As for the banh mi, it was generously stuffed with the ingredients and the bread was very soft. In terms of flavor, I think it was very good, but a tad too salty. The pork belly was very tender and there were many pieces in there, so I think it’s definitely worth the price. Overall I would come here again if I really crave it, but if not, it wouldn’t be my go-to place. I would still recommend trying this place though if you’re in the neighborhood!

My bf and I spontaneously decided to eat this after a movie date. We ordered a chicken and steak sandwich with egg, ban mi fries and 2 Thai iced teas. The 2 stars are only for the Thai iced tea cause it was so good and had the perfect amount of sweetness. The fries were good but the girl specifically asked me if I wanted it to be spicy and I said no and when we came home, it was super spicy… I called ahead of time to pick up. I specifically told the girl on the phone NO cilantro. When we got home, guess what I found in my sandwich?! CILANTRO!!! The bread was hard, egg wasn’t runny like Joju’s and the chicken and beef barely had any flavor within itself. After eating their food, my bf instantly had a stomachache… And is still dying in bed as I’m writing this review… Hopefully it’s not food poisoning… We will def not be coming back here !!!

A Viet sandwich place in the bayside area is always a plus! Parking is relatively easy to find off of Bell Blvd if not in the parking lot. The sandwiches are reasonably priced compared to other establishments. The pork belly sandwich was great! The flavors are exactly what you would want it to be, the jalapenos and other spices added a kick to the sandwich. The«Korean» fusion and the pickled radish was on point, however, the bread was my only complaint as it wasn’t as flaky as I would’ve liked especially for a Vietnamese sandwich. The best part however was definitely the kimchi fries. I would say these are very addicting and I would want a batch to myself everyday! I also tried the viet iced coffee which was pretty good as well. Definitely a spot I would come back to every once in a while.

For some reason was really craving for some french bread today and I remember a friend of mine told me about this place call Pâté that’s on Bell Blvd(Right across the street from my favorite bubble tea place Coco) so I decided to give it a shot and see they were like. Pâté is all about the Banh Mi(Vietnamese sandwiches), they do not have any classic cold cut Banh Mi so they will have to be categorized as fusion Banh Mi. Parking: There are plenty of parking around the area, it could get tough during the weekends but I usually have no problem finding parking about the area. Décor and Ambiance: A small cozy restaurant that is clean and organized. The menu hangs high right behind the counter and it’s big enough to read even from some distance away. There’s about 6 tables in the restaurant that seats 4 each. Very casual and lay back kind of restaurant. So relax that you can eat a Banh Mi and sip some coffee. Pâté is cafeteria style, so you order your food and then pick it up from the front counter. As we head into the restaurant, we were greeted by a very warm welcome and then we began to study the menu. In the end, we ordered the Grilled Chicken and Braised Pork Belly Banh Mi as well as an order of Banh Mi Fries. We ordered to go and 30 minutes later, yes 30 minutes! we got our food and ran back to our car. Of the two sandwiches, I like the Braised Pork Belly one better. The Grilled Chicken was extremely dry(almost like rubber), there was not a lot of chicken(very thin slice) and the chicken was lacking flavor. The Braised Pork Belly on the other hand though fatty but was filled with flavor, again there’s not a lot of meat in it but it was at least flavorful. Both bread were a bit hard, I’m not sure if it was stale or was it meant to have that texture. I think my wife and I can both agree that Pâté’s Banh Mi is really lacking one critical thing– FLAVOR. The fries were okay, it was basically fries that’s been douse in fish sauce with some pickled carrot and pickles on top. Service: Great: the cashier was very polite and friendly! Price: Ok/below average: most Banh Mi’s here runs from $ 7 to $ 8.50, consider the quality, the taste and prices of food around the area, they are definitely a bit overpriced. Overall: There is definitely room for growth for Pâté in terms of flavor and taste of their Banh Mi, they have a great start logistically and their restaurant is clean and organized. But there’s a lot of work to be done if they ever want to be top in Queens because at this point, Joju is still far from reachable.

Sensationally Sullen Sandwich The space is clean, but the sandwiches are just A-OK. Their bread seems too dense for the amount of meat they provide. I had the steak ad cheese Bahn Mi which should be more adequately described as bulgogi Bahn Mi. The marinade tasted like the prepackaged ones they sell at H-Mart. Also, their pickled carrots and daikon need more salty sweet vinegary-ness, and they skimp on this too. The proportions just seems slightly off, which threw off the whole experience. Maybe I’m just a spoiled child in the realm of Bahn-mi-ville. The kimchi fries were good but not quite up to the high bar set by JoJu in Elmhurst. I think a traditional flushing Banh Mi is a better option. On a brighter note the service was good but they got a few things to work on. I came in wanting to leave fat and happy but I felt like I was lead on by an unrequited love.

I came here for lunch with my dad today and we were both amazed at how great everything was! Everyone who worked there were so friendly and helpful. As soon as we walked in through the door, the staffs greeted us with a friendly smile saying«Welcome to Pâté». I ordered the Bahn Mi chicken, Bahn Mi bbq Steak, Kimchi Fries, Iced Green Tea and Viet Iced Coffee.(A lot– I know). The drinks were both amazing. I’m a coffee lover– But i’ve never tried vietnamese iced coffee. Once I took a sip of their iced coffee, I was hooked! Viet Iced Coffee here is delicious. I recommend it! The Iced green tea was really good too. It’s like a mix of how Panera’s Iced green tea + honey green tea mixed. Hrm, not sure how to exactly put into words but their iced green tea was good too. The Kimchi fries– My first time trying them. I’m korean so the idea of mixing kimchi with fries seems different to me. I decided to try it from reading previous reviews. And it was SOGOOD. My dad really enjoyed it too! The kimchi fries came with bacon and omgoodness I really enjoyed it a lot. highly recommend. The sandwiches– My dad had the BBQ steak and I had the chicken Bahn Mi. Both were really yummy. I love cilantro and the mix of cilantro and the chicken went perfect together. My dad thoroughly enjoyed his bbq steak. Even if we were both full, we finished all of it! There is plenty of parking in the area– a parking lot and also street parking and if you want to save a couple quarters, you can find parking in the residential area of the same block(what I did). I’m super excited that there is a bahn mi sandwich place near me! I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
