First, let me preface this one with the fact I’m writing about a fast food joint. That said, don’t take my review and compare it to the works of a high-end establishment. Compare it to your local Golden Arches or a Whopper rival. Am I a huge fan of Subway– not really. Yet, when the bitter snap of the polar vortex plunged in the area I wanted food that was quick and cheap. Subway is one of the most successful franchise ventures to grace the planet. These passionate sandwich artists know consistency. Something many companies can’t seem to accomplish let alone perfect. And then came my visit to this location. I was really annoyed when I walked in to this location today to stand in-line and see only one sandwich artist making subs and running the register. It was 12:19PM with a wind chill of –30. I really didn’t want to wait. But, I did. Maybe the cold affected the staffing opportunities. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I don’t know if the person working was the owner, but I’m going to guess yes. If not, she was an invested stakeholder in the place. With a growing lunch line, she seemed to efficiently and impressively keep up with the lunch crowd and crank out some subs at the same amount of time of two workers. What did I really love? She washed her hands after EVERY interaction at the register and put on new gloves before the next customer. Very, very impressive. Huge star points there. I’ve also used them to cater breakfasts in the past. They open early and can pump out some bkfst sandwiches in no time. Compared to the other Subways in the area this is my choice. They care. They’re super clean. They were there on a cold winter day.
