Crawdads Six

i live right next to the place, but never stop. Mainly because their gas is always $.25 more per gallon than any other station in the area. At least we are getting a couple more stations next door, maybe a little competition will bring the gas prices more in-​line with the rest of the state of Texas.

The buger that I had was very good.

I used to stop at this place once a month on my drives from Austin to Beaumont from six to three years ago, because of the Classy Crawpotties, natch. They also had several different drink machines and a very wide selection of snacks, etc.
Since then, this place has gone doooooownnnnhill. While they’ve added a couple borderline obscene billboards to garner up more business, I can’t say I’ll stop in again. Of the approximately 8 bathroom stalls, only one single one was not covered in bodily fluids or toilet paper/​seat covers.
We also ordered breakfast from Mo’z, and my ham and swiss croissant (plus mushrooms) was guh-​reeeeeeeeaaaaaassssssy. Good, but way too much on the oil and butter. My dining companion’s omelet was also only so-​so, and the girl working that counter was more concerned with feeding herself than serving guests who came up to the counter.
Hopefully they bring this place back to its original glory.

We always stop here on our way to visit my folks. The restrooms are large, clean and well stocked.
They also have a little restaurant that serves burgers and tacos. I had a grilled chicken burger and I have to say that for a gas station it wasnt half bad.
The people that work there are always really nice too.

Crawdad’s is a great stopping point if you need gas late at night en route to Beaumont or East Texas. Pricing is extremely fair for the region (often a few cents cheaper than neighboring stations), most fuel cards are accepted, and the whole area is extremely well lit. While not Buckee’s level quality, many local snacks are also carried inside.

Exit # 803 is all you need to remember to get here for clean restrooms, friendly staff, some good eats.
Crawdads Six is a great little spot to stop at if you are traveling through the area on Interstate 10 «to» or «from» Houston and the surrounding cities.
I appreciate the hospitality, the overall cleanliness, and the daily specials that they have for lunch. For drinks & travel snacks, they practically have anything you need for your travels or fishing trips.
To accommodate the many visitors, they have appropriately positioned the parking and the gas pumps to fit in the smallest sedan or the biggest truck pulling a long boat. Well thought out in my opinion versus other stations who forget about the sometimes «obvious» customers of the local area.
There are many stops on the interstate that you could go to, but once you see the poor condition that they are in you will start to make Crawdads you NEW scheduled stop on the long freeway journey.
