Do you really need to review a Shipley Donuts? The donuts are fresh, soft and mouth watering. The kolaches are basic but delicious. The coffee is… hot? I don’t drink coffee. Employees seem friendly.

This is one of the places that I missed while living in WA state, so last Saturday while my hubby was out for a drive I called him and asked him if he’d stop by Shipley’s and pick us up some donuts. I don’t know how far away he was from home, but it seemed like FOREVER before he arrived back home with my donuts. He was carrying a HUGE bag in and I thought… Ummmm… I did want Shipley’s, but I didn’t want THAT much because that’ll just mean that I’ll eat too much. He opened the bag and pulled out a dozen and a half of donuts, 2 apple fritters and a couple of other things… but I must admit, I was only interested in the donuts. He had my favorite… glazed and also threw in some chocolate for good measure. They were STILL warm and looked so yummy… perfectly glazed. One taste let me know that they were well worth the wait. I ate 3 in one sitting… that is A LOT of donuts for me. Two is usually pushing my limit. I LOVEDTHEM!!! The only down fall to Shipley’s is… since he bought so many we had quite a few leftover. We boxed them back up and decided to save them for the next day. They are no where near as good the next day… I even tried heating them up in the microwave for a few seconds… they were just BLAH! So, make sure you only get enough to eat that day because if you have them the next day you may be disappointed.

This is my first visit to this Shipleys but I’m happy I stopped on in for a donut and a coffee. The service was quick and friendly. The place was clean and uncrowded(tho the drive thru was pushing out product at a breakneck pace). And they have a nice selection of most of your Shipley favorites. One exception: no bear claws! It’s literally marked off the menu.
