Finally had a chance to visit since new owners took it over a few months ago and already noticed a huge difference in the food, staff, and overall experience. Can’t wait for the Waters Edge to become my regular spot again food and entertainment this summer.

I have never written a Unilocal review and I’ve thought about it for 2 weeks before I actually wrote it. Two weeks ago, we were there to celebrate my moms bday. Upon walking in, my 71, yr old father tripped on the rug in your entryway and fell on his face. Thank GOD he was not seriously injured. Not one, but TWO of your employees walked by when he was on the ground and said NNOTHING!!! Absolutely DEPLORABLE!!! Then our lovely brought a martini twice to my husband because he ordered a MARGARITA. Was this a joke??? Every table had bread but us. The food was edible at best. For dessert, my 10 year old ordered chocolate ice cream that had pieces of cardboard from the container in it. Our server did not offer a different dessert or take it off the bill. We gave him a 25 $, voucher from , only to be told there are new owners as of 2 weeks ago and you can no longer accept these vouchers. Talk about BADBUSINESS. When we left, the rug my dad tripped over has mysteriously disappeared, which tells me you know he fell and decided to not apologize or do anything else that a decent human being would do. I will NEVEREVER eat in your restaurant again and unfortunately for you, I own a business in Ocean County, and will make it mission to destroy any dignity you have let… that is, if you had any to begin with.

My kids and Waters Edge have something in common… they both hate vegetables. I’ve eaten chicken marsala countless times over the years but this was the very first time where not a single mushroom was on the plate. And the side veggies were plated way too soon and nowhere near done and ready to be consumed. (And onto the protein — it was also the first time to get a massive chicken breast that was way overdone and dry. And there’s only a smidgen of sauce so with every bite you’re parched and chugging water just to get the meal down.) Two other people had the exact same issues as I did so it wasn’t a fluke and only sent out one bad dish. Otherwise? A cool location in the boonies(especially for a North Jerseyan like myself) and the staff were friendly but I wouldn’t make a stop here again.(My GPS had sent us a few blocks in the wrong direction… maybe Siri was looking out for me?)

I went there at 11:30 in the morning on Saturday. I ordered the raw clams and a full pound of the peel and eat shrimp. The«regular» shucker wasn’t there yet and they didn’t offer to have me wait or say anything. The guy who opened the clams did a horrible job. The clams were ripped apart and had lots of shells. Then brought over a half pound of shrimp instead of the full pound. To top it all off, they let their customers smoke, because it’s outside dining, so beware that anybody can light-up at anytime. For me that’s a total deal-breaker and I won’t be back!

Ok here’s the straight scope. If your in a hurry this is not your place. We enjoyed a nice afternoon on the deck in the sun with great food wonderful drinks and best of all we didn’t feel rushed. Our server Jen kept the drinks flowing and the food came out in a nice space that we didn’t feel rushed. Like I said your here for the atmosphere anyway why not take the time to enjoy it. So if your in a hurry look for places with fast service. If your looking to enjoy the bay breeze and a few drinks then this is your place. My question is why would you want to rush anyway.

People when are you going to wake up! Haven’t been back in over a year because our experience was awful. Keep checking reviews to see if it has improved but apparently it has not! What a shame, such s beautiful place! Really want to come back but not with the reviews I’ve read! Really sad.

Upon arriving an hour early for our reservation and being greeted by the sweet and bubbly Maître D’ who was happy to tell us our table would be ready on time, our party of 7 happily got drinks at the bar eagerly awaiting what would appear to be a wonderful dining experience. To our surprise, however, our hour and a half of waiting seemed to unravel into a baffling display of incompetence as both the Maître D and manager, apparently naïve to the way restaurants operate, informed us that the restaurant was overbooked, like a poorly maintained airline, and we may or may not be seated after another hour of waiting.(As an aside, we made our reservation TWODAYSAHEADOFTIME for 8:30pm, and being seated would STILL be a coin toss even if we waited until 9:30) At no point were we informed of this situation, after arriving an hour early for our reservation and checking in mind you, but they refused to compensate us in any way for this inconvenience. The coup de grâce of this experience seemed to be the way in which the tactless employees treated the situation as though it was our fault! I was so personally offended by this experience that it drove me to download this app specifically to write this very review. It put a dent in what was supposed to be the kickoff to an eventful bachelor party which left us all frustrated and disappointed on what was going to be a joyous occasion. I sincerely hope this happens to no one else in the future, but realize that it could just as easily happen to you. They failed to recognize the value of a large party of people coming to dine at their establishment, refused to recognize their own maladroit service, and could not even rectify their blundering with any form of compensation for completely ruining all of our dinner plans. Unfathomably poor management. Do not risk your dining experience here. Its comical that they claim to make reservations.

Chose this place for their location and menu for a friends bachelor party. Took the boat over, and waited at the bar while we waited for our table. Seemed like a great atmosphere and start of a good night. After waiting an hour and giving them advanced notice we were early we walk upstairs to be told they made an error. We were told their«system» caused them to overbook upstairs and that it would be at least an hour until they could hopefully seat us. Not only did they make it seem like it was our fault, they didn’t try to accommodate us and most likely they had a group of 22 walk in and took them over honoring our reservation. It was 7 of us and our bill would have been 6 – 800 given our alcohol and food preferences. Would never go back based on my experience and is not the way you run a restaurant.

My husband, 4 and 7yr old decided to go there tonight as it was advertised :” Monday nights kids eat free”. Well for one the scenery is beautiful ., despite it was very chilly and windy tonight. We go inside and the place is so choppy or diverted I guess you can say. Not sure which way to go. We see a sign that says restaurant upstairs and wait for hostess. There is only one table in dining area. Just to double check I ask the hostess if it is still«kids eat free special» she abruptly says«oh yes but only outside». Seriously ?? It’s cold and windy? Yes but kids can only eat free on the outside deck. Are you kidding ! Needless to say NEVERAGAIN will I ever go back here! Literally one table in the whole place and NOONE dining on the deck as it was freezing and were told we could not eat inside with the special. Horrible!

I am glad that I visited Waters Edge before I read all of these comments… Went there very recently for an event. Large and bright room with beautiful water views. You could look out over the outside bar as well, which wasn’t too crowded on the weekend we were there. Service by the waiters was excellent: they refilled waters and took away used buffet plates promptly. Management seemed poor in that this was buffet service and while food serving trays were emptied quickly, they were not replaced promptly, leading to people standing still in the buffet waiting for more food to come(I really hate that). Food was about average for a buffet. The caesar salad didn’t really have a taste, potatoes were good, ravioli was standard, fish plain, prime rib was good, risotto was like glue. Hard to judge value as I don’t know the price paid. Mixed drinks were very good. Everything was clean and the food was served hot.

Was there on 7−25−15 at 6pm. Hostess stated 45 – 1 hour wait to eat outside. Had drinks at the bar while we waited. Or at least attempted to do so. The bartender was horrible. He was not interested in making eye contact with any of the customers in order to serve drinks. After an hour we asked about our table and confirmed they had the correct cell phone number. The hostess stated it would be more like 2 hours. We waited another hour and we ended up leaving and eating someplace. Poor customer service. I won’t be back until they get their act together. No sure what happened to this place, but the customer service used to be good.

If I could give no stars, I would. It’s too bad the food is awful as it is one of the vary few restaurants in the area on the water. Six people went, six meals more than disappointing. If you go, don’t go for the food.

Came by boat on July 5. Told a 15 minute wait. We sat at the bar for 30 minutes and weren’t called. Talked to the hostess and she said due to the kitchen being overwhelmed it was now an hour wait. We ordered food at the bar, and the bartenders were pretty attentive, but it was clear the staff wasn’t prepared for this kind if crowd or volume. Totally ridiculous on a holiday weekend at a dock and dine. I’ve been up and down the intercoastal on many holiday weekends. No place in Florida would have been so unprepared Food was serviceable and cheap, $ 160 for 7 people who were drinking heavily. Nothing amazing however. The band, Undisputed was excellent Their docking facility was terrible, exposed to the bay so your boat got tossed around. There was a mooring field with a taxi, but they only pick up boaters, not jetskis. Slow service, overwhelmed staff and average bar food on the water, that’s what your getting here

Came here for a shower and if I never had to return it would be too soon. It’s a shame that such a beautiful establishment would serve such horrible food. Chicken — so dry I had to drink water while chewing to swallow. I’ve honestly never had chicken so bad before in my life. Salad — zero flavor Quiche — undercooked and runny Vegetable lasagna — again, no flavor very disappointing that should be a pretty simple dish not to screw up They didn’t fill our waters at all or leave a pitcher and on the table! Not to mention the man that was making omelettes was a very angry person it made the encounter uncomfortable. I didn’t even bother asking for one. It was just horrible save your money and go somewhere else… the beautiful views aren’t even worth it.

Went here for a mother’s brunch. Good food and good service! The location/view is pretty amazing. We sat inside. The outside area had live music. Highly recommend this place.

Arrived by boat again and this time the whole experience was not good even though last year we stopped by and enjoyed it. Clams and Oysters were good, soup came and it was room temp and we were given teaspoons instead of soup spoons to add insult to injury. Food was below decent and took forever. Band was good but why have the speakers full blast on a Sunday afternoon??? Could only talk with your friends between sets. I’ve given up on the Waters Edge.

What shame. They used to have great food even last year. Something happened recently. Silverware was gross. Twice it came out. Sweet pot fries were gross and unseasoned. The fish tacos were under seasoned and disgusting

Visited there today, Mother’s Day 2015 and was blown away-but definitely NOT in a good way. Reservations were made by a family member for a party of 12 for Mother’s Day brunch. I wish that I had checked the menu beforehand or I never would have joined the family there. To begin with, there service received does NOT coincide with the upscale restaurant personna that this place is trying to portray. Although the waiter tried really hard, he was completely unable to serve our party with any degree of expertise. He was pleasant enough, but that is the best I can say. The prices for what was offered on today’s menu reflect delusions of grandeur. Nothing they served was worth the prices they charged. There would have to be an extensive more talent in the kitchen to be worthy. The soup(crab bisque) was not hot. Not sure whether it sat too long or was not ready in time to serve it. It’s taste was good, decent amount of clams but lukewarm. Caeser salad-sucked in plain English. I have had better at a diner. Tomato/mozzarella salad-I am trying to figure out if the chef was trying to do a Caprese salad? Because if he/she was, they need to take a lesson in Italian cuisine. Basic hot-house tomato, slice of mozzarella, slight bit of some kind of sauce, balsamic-based I think. Anyway, it was awful. TOTALLY bland. No basil added. Did not see olive oil and no seasonings. A total failure. My Mom could not even eat it. Crab cakes entrée-was pretty excited to get those. They are one of my favorites and I have not had them for a long time. They were a total disappointment. They definitely had crab in them but the composition and seasoning was very off-putting. Definitely NOT a crab cake to go back for! I did not finish one and did not touch the other. Potatoes were again-not hot. Taste was basic. Clearly not on a level of a restaurant such as this. Desert-was a win! YAY! Had a chocolate bomb which was delicious. So either they buy some great deserts from outside or they have a competent pastry chef. Some other food that was had with the other guests-children’s cheeseburger was reported to be awful and dried out. Two people ordered the risotto and 90% of it went home in boxes. Our appetizers came twice. Other courses took forever and everyone’s food did not come out at the same time. Our reservation was at 11:30 and we did not get out of there until 2:30-THAT’S how long it took them to serve us our meals. Long periods of time in between courses. We were totally disappointed with this place. They ought to be ashamed of themselves to charge people 50 $ for a pre fixe menu and then serve sub-par food. I would have been happier at the Olive Garden or Red Lobster. I will never go back. The bill was over 600 $ and although I only paid part of it, I am fuming. The worst part is that my MOM did not enjoy herself. That’s what the day was about… MOM…and she was really disappointed. The water view is great, but that is the ONLY thing this place has going for it. Hey chef– Did you TASTE the food that was going out of your kitchen today? If you did, and it tasted alright to you-you picked the WRONGPROFESSION! Grade D-minus – don’t waste your money.
