I have gone to Surflight many times over the years and have really enjoyed it. There have been some really incredible productions on that stage and I hope to see more in the future!

Surflight has lots of wonderful shows for both adults and kids and it’s a very nice change from the cheesy rip-off attractions the rest of the island has to offer. Whether you are only on the island for short vacation or spend much of the summer down there, stop by the theater and take in a show. It’s well worth it!

On a whim we drove from Ocean City to Beach Haven to see a show at The Surflight through the crazy thunderstorms this past Friday. The theatre itself is easy to find but the parking is atrocious. The show we were at was maybe 20% filled and I had to park almost two blocks away. I couldn’t imagine going to see something that was a sell out. Prices at $ 15 per ticket were reasonable although the show itself, Aladdin, barely made it to 50 minutes in length and the costumes and props looked like about $ 1.98 was spent on them. The staff we encountered were friendly enough and if we were in the area we would probably come back as this place seems to offer the only regularly scheduled array of children’s shows all season long on the Jersey shore.

Under new management this year, Surfight seems to have it right. The staggered schedule allows for visitors who spend a week on the island to see at least two shows and a comedy night. Children can see up to three of the children’s shows during a single week. A big change from prior years. Also new this year– matinees!
