Plaza 21 Drive In Theatre

I go here any chance I get! Much more enjoyable than your typical movie theatre. The prices are great! Even their concessions are priced great! For $ 6 a person (military discount) you get two movies! The only tip I would give is come early! A half an hour or more because the line to buy tickets gets backed up – along with lines at concession! But super fun & great for kids :)

The staff is always extremely friendly at Highway 21 drive in! They have it all– popcorn, candy, burgers, hotdogs, candy, drinks, funnel cake, and so much more!!! Always playing the latest movies and the grounds are always clean. Check seasonal hours and make sure to get there 20 to 30 minutes early so you have plenty of time to get snacks. Always a great time and always enjoyable.

For us older movie-​goers, this place elicits fond memories of the past. For the newer generation of movie-​goers, like my young children, this place is a wonderful time, period! Unlike the Jesup Drive-​in theater, which is also awesome, Highway 21 Drive-​in has two snack bars (a satellite and main snack bar) as well a playground. This way, the kiddos can play and/​or watch the movie, but more importantly, leave adults to enjoy the movies as well. With a 2, 4, and 6 year-​old, this is the only way my wife and I can actually enjoy new-​release movies!
Tip: get there early and head to the front for an unobstructed view of the screen (which is not like sitting in the front row of an indoor theater) and right next to the playground. This allows you to watch the kids and the movies at the same time… if that’s even possible.

This place is great! We can take our family of 4 and not spend over $ 50 for tickets, food, snacks and drinks. Staff is wonderful. Playground to keep the kids occupied while we wait. Clean restrooms. It’s one of our favorite places!

We drove an hour from charleston and worth it the drive. Staff was super friendly and the cost is right. Can not wait to come back!

Love the Highway 21 Drive-​In. The concessions are really good too, especially the funnel cakes. It is nice to come here instead of going to the regular movie theaters every once in a while.

Glad to see that these old dinosaurs still exist. Went for the first time as this is a mile away from my mother in laws home. It was a great first experience. I paid $ 20 for a family of four. The snacks were cheap as well. The funnel cake was great. My overall experience was great and I would definitely go again when I’m back in Beaufort. It’s something that if you are an avid moviegoer, you must experience. The sound of the movie is broadcast via your car radio. This is cool if you have a decent sound system. Just be sure to get there early enough to pick a good parking space to view the movie from

I absolutely loved this place! We drove from Charleston but it was so worth the drive. Great value for the double feature. The digital projectors were great, yummy food (really enjoyed the funnel cake). Has military discount. Plus you could see so many stars, very romantic place. My boyfriend and I got the shirts cause we loved this place so much. Would definitely love to come here more often!

I love the Highway 21 drive in. Totally worth the drive from Charleston, especially now that they have the digital projectors. And you can’t beat a double feature for $ 7!
Food is great (for concession-​type food) and reasonably priced. Love, love, love this place.

If you have small kids it seems impossible to catch a movie. However that is not true at the Drive In. Your kids can be as good or as bad and the only people that know are you. If you live in the area and havent experience the Hwy 21 Drive in, then you must live under a rock. We really enjoy going and the prices to watch movies are very fair.

This is a classic! Old fashioned family owned Drive In Theater. Clean, safe, and fun for the family. Bring your lawn chairs and kick back and enjoy a movie. Plays current movies. Two screens. Usually one for kids and one more adult. Great food.
Plus the place has special discounts for military families and occasionally free nights for military families.
