Beautiful Mountain Skate Plaza

*NOTE: This is a review from someone who’s actually Skated (Rollerbladed) the park.
After years and years, Beaumont finally has a PUBLIC Skatepark. The public aspect is important since this area still has another Skatepark, called 5 – 0, which unfortunately has been extremely mismanaged for the past decade and is hardly ever open.
Although it’s small, overall this Park has a nice flow. SPA Skateparks did a great job, and is on par with the other Public Skateparks they have built around Texas (I’ve actually Skated several parks they’ve built).
Hours are dawn til 11:00. However, it can be a bit difficult Skating at night. The placement of the lighting system is terrible and the lights are very dim. This is really a safety issue since some areas of the park are too dark to Skate safely. Quite honestly, the side street has better lighting that the Skatepark itself.

Situated in downtown, the Beautiful Mountain Skate Plaza is open to the public and gives local skaters an opportunity to truly gather together and enjoy the area.
The park offers a street like experience by having a variety of railings, stairs, and ramp like areas. Making skating safe for everyone around and giving younger kids, and their parents, an area where they know they will be safe as opposed to skating on the actual street.
Now, helmets are not imposed but are HIGHLY recommended as the park is not under supervision so «skate at your own risk.»
As for the young adults, you have from dawn ’til 11 o’clock at night! Wow. That should definitely give everyone enough time to practice every trick in the book!
Make sure to be polite and look out for others while skating as this place is hot, hot, hot! Literally.
