Cavender’s Boot City

Terrible customer service with the assistant manager!!! My first time in Texas and to a Cavenders store, and needless to say I will not be returning nor will I recommend this store to anyone. To their credit: I must add that the cashier, Betty, and other associates were fabulous. On to my experience that warrants this poor review: I was trying to buy a belt that was advertised on Clearance but the assistant manager, Susan, refused to honor the sale price. That was the first issue. After verifying the item was on sale with Susan, she still tried to deny me the sale price. Additionally, Susan treated me as if I was beneath her; she was blantantly rude and gave me an unnecessarily difficult time when all I wanted to do was pay for my items. The experience I had at this store was one so negative that I had to write this review and let other potential buyers to beware.

The store itself is clean, but the workers are rude and seem like they don’t care for their customers at all. My husband and I went in looking for a coat, my husband told him he was looking for a Dickies brand and the guy responded with: We don’t sell the cheap stuff we only sell good quality coats. Needless to say that cost him a sale, and the cashiers were rude when we went to check out, the girls just gave us a look like we were beneath them and they could be doing something else better with there time, if I were you I would go to a cavender’s in Houston!

Nice store with a great selection. We are on vacation from CA & stopped in to get some things for my daughter. She found several tops, jewelry, etc. Really liked the store, but not the customer service. No one around to even ask about additional sizes, etc. When we went to checkout, girl never greeted us, barely looked at us & we finished the purchase & left. Manager needs to teach the employees about smiling & greeting customers!

I’m not a cowboy in any way, shape, form or fashion. but the wife was in the market for some new boots. She shopped Lake Charles for a couple weeks, even buying a boot or two she was less than satisfied with. They were all returned and thus our trip West to Beaumont. We’ve visited other Cavender’s locations and this one is pretty much what we expected. Good selection, name brands, knowledgeable staff. I should also throw in that they are patient. We were there 1 ½ hours and tried on dozens of boots. But alas, the wife found exactly what she wanted and the trip was a success. There’s only one Cavender’s franchise in the state of Louisiana… I wouldn’t mind an expansion. Could save me some travel time.
