The chicken strips plate here is amazing. It’s delicious, tons of food and super cheap. The koolaid that people keep mentioning is pretty good too. It goes well with whatever you want to get. I’ve yet to try the pork chop sandwiches but I’ve heard they’re excellent as well. The interior is simple hole in the wall style but it’s refreshing to eat at a place that isn’t a copy/paste restaurant chain in Beaumont.

Pork Chop sandwich with fried okra was excellent… made the classic mistake of thinking I could take it to go and eat while driving. Sat out in the parking lot and enjoyed every morsel of the perfectly fried pork chop. Ordered the sandwich«all the way» with lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo but will request heavy on the mayo next time. review by David M

They make a pretty good burger. I have only been here three times and all three times I had the burger. My daughter raves about the other goodies on the menu and I tried a bit of hers and it was all good. It’s not fine dining but it is a good meal. It’s cheap, it’s good and it has a fair selection of food.

We were at Lamar for an event and found Coleman’s on Unilocal. What a nice surprise! Food was delicious and owner(and cook) was very friendly. We ordered cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings and cheese sticks — all was great and reasonably priced. Oh and ordered the kool aid too — very refreshing on a hot day. So glad we happened to stop here!

I loved this place! It is a small hole in the wall hamburger joint right around the corner from the LU campus. Everyone in there was super friendly and attentive and the portions were very generous especially for the price. My boyfriend and I each got a burger, side and a drink for under $ 20.00. The onion rings were freshly made to order and delicious. if you choose to stop in for lunch make sure you try there«homemade fruit punch» its to die for.

Coleman’s is just what you would imagine it to be. A Hometown Southern Fried Country Kitchen. Their expertise seems to be with the burger so that’s what we went with for our first time, and damn was it good. The burgers were excellent, one of those over stuffed, thick meat, extra cheese type burgers that even men have to cut in half. The buns were toasted to perfection and the meat was seasoned how every southern burger should be. The sides were excellent as well. Onions and tots are what we tried and both were on point. The drinks were great too! Coleman’s Koolaid. A mixture of fruit punch and lemonade in a huge cup for .99 slowed our heartbeats with every sip. I’m pretty sure the sugar content is enough to kill diabetics with a single drop. And you can have all of this for less than $ 20 easy. Our bill was $ 16 for one huge burger, a smaller burger, 2 sides, 2 drinks and a refill as we hit the door. Not bad considering I had to crawl to the car after from eating so much. Coleman’s is a great stop, its not the best I’ve ever had, and its probably not the best burger in town but damn was it good.

They have homemade Kool-Aid! A.K.A.: «Homemade Fruit Punch» for a dollar! However, they don’t give you a lid. They just don’t or else they would have to raise the price. The food is good and very inexpensive. They offer everything from cheeseburgers and catfish to popcorn chicken and salads! Above all these selections lies one victor — Coleman’s Pork Chop Sandwich! All their food is made to order so expect for their to be a wait but this porky is worth it. The pork chop sandwich is kept warm between two slices of buttered ‘Texas Toast’ and accompanied with a side of french fries that have been sprinkled with TexJoy(local seasoning) and of course lettuce and tomatoes. All that for about 5 bucks! You can’t beat Coleman’s prices, but beware they do not accept credit cards — I repeat, NOCREDITCARDS, CASHONLY! If you decide to go and eat inside the restaurant be prepared to listen to a sermon since they keep it playing on their T.V. all day.
