My favorite stop on the way back to Az from Cali. It’s a small store that has produce, nuts, granola, dried fruit, dried veggies, candy, pickled everything(lol), jams, jellies, olives, vinegars, honey… etc etc I like the small family owned feel to the place. It is not commercialized. Prices seem fair and less than a nearby competitor. It has easy access off the highway. Parking is ample and easy. Though the restrooms look a little beat up, so far they’ve been relatively clean. It’s a nice place to stop and stretch you legs, get an Az Iced Tea, a few snacks, then back on the road.

I don’t know why I have never stopped by this place. Fresh produce and most of the items come in big quantities or large sizes. It’s a MUST if you’re headed to Arizona or further than that because they have drinks available and plenty of snacks for the road. Great selection of sweets… from honey sticks to chocolate covered honeycomb, peanut or almond brittle, Gummy bears covered in chili, and«sugar-free» peanut butter cups. I will definitely go AGAIN.

Granola soo good you can not stop. Love this place en route to the desert stocked full of the best granola, fruits, vegetables and other dry goods. A desert gem that deserves the pit stop while you are jammed up at the fwy intersection. Not glamorous but HIGHLY recommended.

Lots of selection of fruits and candies. Honey and specialty breads, etc. It was my first time here-I see it everytime on my way home and always say I should go in and check it out. My kids enjoyed seeing so many different types of fruits. We picked out jujubees-I had never heard of these. Hoping theyre yummy! Worth a stop. Lots of neat things inside.

We stop by every time on our way to & from Cali. We get the brittles & soup mixes for my Mom, pickles for me, nuts for the hubs & candy for the kiddo. Everything is priced right & super yummy. My only wish is that they shipped.

This place is the spot to STOP when heading through town. They have fresh fruit from behind the store that’s hand picked. They have many choices of different candy, dried fruit, fresh fruit, drinks ect. If you like spicy items(chili gummy bears, chili mangos — which are the best and said by everyone who get the chance to share with me-, chocolate covered cinnamon bears) if you like making chili they have a full bags of all ingredients included to make.

Customer service was horrible. ATM was down and staff was rude. I just wanted to bring some farm fresh fruit home to AZ and to pay with a check wasn’t an option… this is 2015 get with the times and offer credit card transactions thru your smartphones or take my check.

Fresh farm produce where the 10 and 60 converge in Beaumont. We love to pick up fresh strawberries, nectarines, peaches, cherries and whatever is in season. They also have nuts, dried veggie snacks, drinks, and other goodies. Friendly staff, great prices, perfect place to stop going in or out of town Not the best bathrooms around but at least they have one.

What a great find. We have been driving by this place on our way to camping for years and finally stopped. We went in and cleaned out the place of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as a whole lot snacks. Healthy dried fruit and nuts, but all just really good stuff. A new stop for us.

I remember redwood trees, bumper cars and wolverines The ocean’s Trident submarines Lemons, limes and tangerines I remember this R.E.M. — I Remember California I remember driving up the coast with my mom and my brother. There were orchards and farms in the spaces between cities. Roadside stands sold fresh fruit and vegetables. I always hoped we would stop for some fresh oranges, strawberries, or cherries. :-) May 2. Cherry season has started in Northern California. Sweet red little morsels I can’t resist. Firm and oh so juicy as I bite into the delicate berry. So delicious. Starting around June 1 the Dowling grown cherries should be available. I noticed Dowling Fruit Orchard on the way to Indio. I stopped as I could not resist the«Fresh Strawberries» sign. Nice big parking lot and the air conditioning really hits the spot when it’s over 90 outside. :-) Strawberries! I could smell their fruity scent as I approached. I usually buy Carlsbad strawberries at the local farmer’s market and these are a bit cheaper and very tasty. :-) You can buy cheaper strawberries at a grocery store but they are picked before they are ripe and ripened in store. Picked before they are ripe they tend to lack the aroma and flavor of freshly picked ripe strawberries. There is a large selection of fruit, veggies, nuts, breads, and chocolate covered nuts that are oh so delicious. The roadside stands are gone now. Replaced by signs stating«No vending from state highway.» I still have my memories and Dowling Fruit Orchard to remind me of California.

First time stopping here, but have always wanted to. We generally stop at Shields and Hadley’s. We bought two huge bags of oranges, 3 pints of strawberries, «Limited Edition» on the vine tomatoes, yams and chocolate covered seafoam. We spent under $ 20 for all of that! Pretty good deal, i must say :) As i sit here writing my review, i am eating those delicious strawberries, they are perfectly ripe and sweet. They have fresh fruit and vegetables(not all local), nuts, chocolate, snacks, granola, sauces, spices, dried beans, public restrooms(i didn’t check them out, no comment on the cleanliness of that). Most reviews comment on the need for an renovation, but its basically a vegetable stand and i don’t expect anything more than their focus on the products they provide for us. I suggest making this stop, you won’t regret it.

Going to Morongo? Palm Springs? Phoenix? Beyond? Dowling is a great little spot to load up on some snacks, whether it be nuts of any variety, fruits, beverages, or even candy. It’s a quaint little place, but the prices and selection they have on some of their items here worth a stop. I usually pick up some nuts and fruits for the road trip ahead and I have rarely been disappointed by the stuff I get here. They even sell live pigs(for those who REALLY want a pig)! But as others have noted, I’d hold off using this place as a «potty break». Best to hold it a little further down the road.
