I’m a big fan of Bruning’s — at least on the wine shop side of the house since that is all I’ve visited. They have a very nice selection of wines at various prices. I especially love tasting nights because it allows my hubby and I to try wines(or beers) we might not otherwise have tried(and with trying sometimes comes buying!). They also sometimes have life music on Friday’s and Saturdays. Gregg M and I have not been disappointed on any occasion we have been there!

One of the most relaxing and friendly places to spend time with friends while have the chance to get to know new people. It’s a place worth frequenting, especially if you live in the Beavercreek area .

***This review is only for the wine shop.*** Frankly, I don’t understand the one scathing review for Bruning’s Wine & Clock. Bruning’s is a small wine shop through one door and a clock repair shop through the other. In truth, the wine shop was rather small, but still offered a surprisingly diverse selection of wines at various price points with representation from most varietals from across many of the world’s more recognized wine regions. Additionally, Bruning’s also offered a nice selection of craft beers for sale by the 4 or 6 pack or as a single with most of the local/Ohio brews represented. In my opinion, while Bruning’s selection was certainly nowhere near as diverse nor possessing the depth of quality as Jungle Jim’s, Whole Foods, Dorothy Lane Market(especially the one at 6177 Far Hills), or Arrow Wine & Spirits for both wine and beer. Bruning’s surpassed Belmont Party Supply in terms of its selection and quality of wine, but definitely not beer(a Belmont Party Supply strength), and beat Fresh Thyme hands down for selection and quality for both wine and beer. Given Ohio’s arcane/idiotic alcohol laws, prices were comparable to other sellers of beer and wine. The staff, especially Tracy, has always been friendly and helpful. However, what sets Bruning’s apart from its competition in Dayton, though, are its weekly wine tastings events. The wife and I go to the Wednesday night tastings, which are co-hosted by a wine rep pouring wines he/she reps and offering informative tasting notes. Although we haven’t been, they also offer tastings on Fridays and Saturdays, but without the wine rep. Bottom line… Bruning’s isn’t the biggest or best wine/beer shop I’ve ever stepped foot inside, but it offered some nice wines that I hadn’t seen elsewhere in the local area for a price I was willing to pay. As for beers, the prices were competitive with others, but its convenience was the difference-maker.

What a joke! They carry less of a selection than kroger’s up the street, prices average a dollar more too. I have given this place multiple chances and each time I am more dissapointed. First every time I go in they are having a tasting which involves live music. this would be fine if the register wasn’t right beside the music, and you have to stand and wait for check out because staff has to finish eating or drinking something. now let’s talk about one staff member in particular. this guy knows as much about beer as a 2nd grader. The few times I have been in he is eating and usually trying to hit on whatever poor female walks in. I just can’t get over selection, I can put up with everything if you get great beers in but they dont. save yourself time and money and go to Kroger or belmont party supply.
