I used to frequent the Wharf on a daily basis. It was a place I could relax and grade homework or study for my own classes. I was friends with all of the staff including the store manager. One day I’m told to no longer come in, I’ve been banned. I was told the staff was to call the police if they saw my car in their parking lot because I would be trespassing. With the reason being that«I didn’t buy enough cigars or that I had brought my own in not purchased there». I did buy at least one cigar there every time I went in, but as a college student cigar funds are hard to come by. Seriously, that’s it. Nothing crazy. After talking to others I come to find out that the owner is basically a psycho, and I wish I could mention these scenarios of which I’m talking about, but am honestly afraid this business will be shut down and I don’t want my friends to lose their jobs. So you can go there, just avoid the owner.

Great customer service and great selection of cigars. Have the rare and must have cigars in stock. Prices are reasonable for the area.

The Wharf has a great selection of smokes of ALL kinds — including their own line of cigars. A relaxing place to have a smoke, but you will absolutely reek of smoke when you leave — not something I have experienced at other smoke shops I have visited. A bit untidy, sure, BUT I think this is exactly what a cigar shop should be! The staff has always been very friendly and knowledgable, and I appreciate being recognized & remembered when I walk in, even though there are often months in-between my visits. Everything you need for your smoking pleasure, all in one place. I always look forward to my next visit –

If you are a cigar or pipe smoker this place has got one of the best selections of tobacco. I went here looking for a pipe cabinet but they don’t stock them. They did have a nice selection of humidors. The place is large and a bit untidy but they are under renovations which includes updating their lounge area. They also have a selection of the higher end cigarettes.

Good Customer Service. My biggest gripe is waiting for my favorites to be restocked. 30 days is way too long for popular names.

It’s almost like going into an old hardware store. Has that feeling of «I’ve been here before»; you can read, play chess, domino, carve, and just about anything that is not annoying to another Herfer.

On the plus side it’s a decent place to smoke a cigar but would be a lot better if they would increase the ventilation. They have a very tired selection of cigars and the humidor is so spread out. The people are nice but you can’t touch the cigars as they are all on shelves behind these long counters. Its sort of like they are watching you closely or expecting you to steal something. The cigars are the tired brands like Perdomo, Rocky Patel. I’ve never seen any of the newer cutting edge releases like you find at a place like Serious Cigars. For Dayton this place may be about as good as it gets, but overall it’s lacking.

A friendly, knowledgeable staff on all things tobacco. They sell all the major cigars(C.A.O., Rocky Pattel, Ashton, Macanudo, etc.).

The best cigar store in the Springfield /Dayton area… hands down. Maybe the best in the state. If you doubt this, just look at the tobacco stained white beard of the man who owns the store… he’ll tell you about any cigar you care to know about. Friendly & attentive service, incredible selection, very spacious, and an Indian at the front door… how could if not be fantastic?
