My relationship with Ulta the past few years has been a bit rocky. The first time I visited this location I walked out and called the customer care number, which is something I’ve never done before considering I’m in retail. That pushed me to shop Sephora for a long time. But I know in retails fast paced cycle of life, bad managers and mediocre employees are constantly out of rotation, so I considered to revisit this past year. After looking for a few weeks for somewhere to get my hair done, I set up an appointment online through Ulta’s website. Very easy and you don’t have to wait for their confirmation call. Crunched for time, I usually need a place that is open Sunday’s, so I gave them a shot. My appointment was with Charlie, and she did well at asking what I wanted done. She did so well with the balyage, it turned out beautifully. he was personable, and she kept great conversation. He work area was clean, the store as a whole was clean and ready for the opening crowd. I would definitely recommend the salon and any hair appointments with Charlie! Pricing wasn’t terrible with the 25% off for first time clients. So take advantage of that before it expires. I will make this my go to place the next time I get my hair done for sure.

I was excited to go into Ulta for the first time… I usually shop at Sephora. My actual shopping experience wasn’t too bad… but when I came back to the store a few days later to return a few items, the manager was a bit strange. Many of the products are buy one get one half off right now. I bought two L’Oréal eye products, an eyeshadow and the telescopic mascara. I paid 7.99 for the eyeshadow and 4.99 for the mascara(which is marked at 9.99.) When I gave her the items back, I asked for an exchange for the mascara only… I wanted to buy it again, as the only reason I was returning it was because the wand broke off it the tube.(This has never happened to me before and didn’t deter me from wanting my favorite mascara.) My only request was to receive the other telescopic mascara at the same price I bought it as. (Keep in mind, I believe that I received it at 4.99 due to the 50% off.) …I then tell her that I don’t understand why my mascara was discounted(because it’s higher priced, 9.99) instead of the eyeshadow(at 7.99.) She tells me that nothing was discounted and that I probably read the prices and tags wrong. … …I tell her to go check the tags herself, including the one that states the mascara is 9.99. She verifies everything and still doesn’t understand what I’m trying to tell her…(I was only trying to understand why the mascara was 4.99.) She begins this«I don’t care» attitude. «I’ll just give you this price, even though I’m not supposed to.» But that’s not what I wanted. ALL I WASTRYINGTODO was ask about why the 9.99 marked mascara was ringing up as 4.99…because she stated it wasn’t a sale, that’s just how it was priced in the system. I mean, I’m fine with happening across this mistake, but I feel that I was clear about merely trying to find out why it happened and this manager lacked the attention span to really listen to what I was inquiring about. It was as if she automatically assumed I was hostile, before even approaching her. I definitely wasn’t. I was very polite. I’m not sure why she was so dismissive and presumptive about my intentions, but in the end I walked out with the mascara priced at 4.99. What did I learn? …don’t bother trying to point out to store associates and managers that something is labeled incorrectly. I wasn’t trying to get a discount… I was trying to show her that the label was 9.99 and customers were getting the product for much cheaper. Sorry for the length of this… I was just surprised by the reaction of this manager.

I went there for the first time today and it was great! I saw Lisa, store manager, and she was awesome, she gave me great tips and advice for my hair.(I have crazy curly frizzy hair, so I have a hard time finding someone who actually knows how to cut it.) I made a second appt and this will be my new go to place!

Although they carry great products and offer great promotions, they never have what I need in stock. Whether I go in on a day they get their shipments or right after, they always seem to be out of the products I need or the shade. Some of the staff is very accommodating but I know there isn’t much they can do when they are out of a product. Very disappointing!

Ulta is located in a plaza with DSW and Party City on the Fairfield Mall side of Beavercreek. It shares its lots with other businesses– making for PLENTY of spots to choose from. This store is near identical to all other Ulta stores I’ve visited. It’s good marketing if you ask me. You know exactly where to look to find the product you need. High End items are on the right of the store, the salon is in the back and the drug store items are situated on the left side. I haven’t had many experiences with help from sales associates. They’re always quick to wave a hello and«Do you need any help today?» but for the most part, I’m the kinda buyer who knows what I want and I’m in and out in under 15.(Yep, my H loves it!) I will say that the SAs seem nice enough, but their expertise is not that of ethnic skin(Their knowledge and store supply is limited to the patronage of their demographic…) so I find information to be somewhat useless. If you get emails or mail from Ulta, you’ll be able to take advantage of lots of sales. Oftentimes there are coupons for $ 3.50 off a purchase of $ 10 for non-HE items. It’s a nice perk if you frequently find yourself in a beauty rut. I have to note that this Ulta is always impeccably clean! This includes trips to the restroom as well. A definite plus!

My go-to place for makeup and hair care products. You can get great deals on shampoos and conditioners from Redkin, Joico, Kenra and more when they have their liter sale in July and December — so stock up! Hit or miss on whether you get a knowledge sales person to help if you have questions on new products.

Every time I’ve been here the staff is always very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure you are getting as many deals and coupons as possible. Such a great selection for all price ranges. And I love the Ulta Rewards. My only problem is trying not to spend my whole paycheck!

Just had my brows waxed here and I was throughly impressed with the outcome. I’m super picky as I’ve been to a lot of folks who didn’t understand the word conservative when it came to waxing. Amanda did an amazing job and I highly recommend her. I will be returning.

I returned some facial products that were burning my face, the girls at the counter acted like I just committed a crime. They watched me walk out of the store all the way to my car from the window. Talk about unprofessional, and apparently one of them was a manager. Do not recommend.

I typically haven’t been a great fan of Ulta. I’ve been to several locations in different parts of the country(two in Florida and one in Northern Virginia) and I’ve experienced poor customer service in each location. I just moved to the area a couple days ago and stopped into this Ulta today, as Ulta locations with a Benefit Brow Bar give you a complimentary brow waxing on your birthday(and today is my b-day). I was greeted as soon as I walked in by friendly employees, who answered my questions and pointed me in the right direction. The employee who did my brow waxing was really great; she was very personable and it turned out we had a lot in common. We had a nice chat while she did my brows. She was very thorough and explained all of what she was going to do before she did it and made sure I was happy with it. She did a great job, and by eyebrows look awesome. After she finished waxing, I got up to leave, and she said«I still need to put moisturizer and foundation on you! I’m not going to let you leave all red!» I had never experienced that in my previous experiences getting my eyebrows waxed! What a pleasant surprise which is common practice for them. :) She asked if I would like to book an appointment in 4 weeks for another waxing, but was not pushy at all. This is by far the best Ulta location I have visited. I received excellent service on a procedure that was free and all the employees I encountered were really friendly and willing to help, yet not overbearing. I will continue to return to this Ulta location in the future. :) Thanks, ladies!
