Beaverton Farmers Market

This farmer’s market has a great variety of produce and food vendors. I love coming to visit here every time I’m in town. Parking can be challenging, but I’ve always been able to get a decent spot.

I have been to most farmers markets around the Portland metro area including the one at PSU and this is by far the farmers market with the best selection of produce and the best location. Pretty easy to find parking, although it is crowded most Saturdays. The prices are reasonable compared to say the Lake O market. My favorite lemonade ever is here and some fantastic pizza (which finally gets its own place!). I try to come every week.

The Saturday Market is definitely one of Beaverton’s biggest selling points. The Wednesday Market… not so much.
We have been hitting this one up every Saturday for about roughly seven years now. In that time it has only gotten better. There are dozens of stands here that have been providing fresh veggies to market goers for that entire time. And now there are several great food options, and even offerings from local distilleries!
Yes, parking sucks. But it is within walking distance of MAX, and there is ample bike parking for those who just have to have wheels. They also have a doggie sitter now for the past two years so you can leave the four legged children for a while.
Yes, their prices are higher then Winco. But since most of the vendors here are also providing organic, and frequently heirloom veggies, I put them a step above even New Seasons for quality (merely because of freshness.) In that realm, they are definitely a money saver!

We recently moved to Beaverton and were so excited to check out the Farmer’s Market. We wandered in on Saturday, not sure what to expect. It was amazing!
There’s a ton of great food vendors, check out the BBQ breakfast hash, the breakfast pizza cooked to perfection in the wood fired oven, the giant omelets, and the gorgeous brunch crepes. Come hungry! They also have gorgeous flower arrangements and tons of plants, including fruit and veggie starters. In addition, there is an endless supply of organic fruits and vegetables. We love the fresh berries, cherries, garlic, carrots, beets, radishes, and lettuce. You will also find homemade goods, including jam, pastries — you MUST try the Marionberry cinnamon rolls OMG — salami, and cheeses. We are in love with the goat cheese, the herb goat cheese is unbelievable. It seems like every week I find a new favorite item!
This is also a great place to bring kids. They have a balloon animal artist and there’s always a fun band playing in the background. There’s a playground in the park that is shaded by huge trees. On warm days, there’s even an awesome fountain/​splash pad that the kids love.
This place has everything you would ever want in a Farmer’s Market. There’s delicious food, plants, flowers, organic produce, and super friendly vendors. It’s the perfect size, clean, and not overly crowded. It quickly and easily became our new Saturday tradition.

I am blessed to live within walking distance to this market. This will need or 4^th year of going every Sat that we can. Great food, great vibe. Highly recommended. Eat fresh, support local.

I love the Beaverton Farmers Market. I enjoy it more than the Saturday Market in downtown (much cleaner, less crowded and better atmosphere). They have a lot of vendors here and it is a good place to relax. They have tons of food vendors and the food is pretty good. All the vendors are very nice and it’s nice to just stroll around and look at things. During the summers, many people enjoy playing in the water fountain.

Best farmers market in the Portland area.
1) Parking — Relatively easy to find parking (especially when compared to parking at PSU). I usually find parking at the adjacent residential neighborhood where parking is free.
2) Food vendors — There are a ton of food vendors that range from fresh baked pizza, Russian food, BBQ brisket and ribs, to crepes, tamales, and Thai food.
3) Alcohol — Local breweries, wineries and distilleries set up shop so you can taste their products. What’s lovely is that if you like a particular wine or beer, you can buy a glass, have a seat in the grown-​up area and enjoy your beverage with your meal. Plus, one of the distilleries offers bloody marys if you prefer to pair that with your meal instead.
4) Everything else — Of course, we love our seasonal, locally grown produce and our locally made products. Early spring is a great time to get all the herbs and veggies to plant in the garden. I love the peonies the flower vendors have in May and the dahlias in August.
5) Water fountain — I enjoy watching the kids play in the water fountain during the hot summer days. It gives a lot of life and spirit, not just to the market but also to the the city of Beaverton.

One of the best farmers markets i’ve ever been to. The distillery sampling was a true highlight!

Boy do I love this place. Hubby had and early morning haircut and then a gross breakfast at Black Bear then we headed to the Market. We were there by 9:00 a.m. so parking was easy. All the food booths were in play but we were stuffed from breakfast so we skipped that.
I was able to get Green Tomato’s for my Fried Green Tomato’s I plan to make tomorrow, some fresh berries from my favorite farm, Ungers and some fantastic Goat Cheese and fresh flowers.
On the way out I noticed a whole slew of Alcohol related booths, beer and vodka, which is kind of weird, but hey we are in Oregon so anything goes.
The entire area is clean, well maintained, they have porta potties if needed and hand washing stations. I noticed they even have a Doggie Daycare in the middle of the park if you forget the «no dogs» sign and bring them anyway.
The only thing I regret is not finding the booth which was emitting a heavenly roasted garlic smell. Hubby roamed all over the place trying to find where that smell was coming from and never found it.
Also, they have a knife sharpening person there every weekend, who can do it on the spot. If I had known I would have brought my knives to be sharpened.

Might be my favorite place on the planet. Yea, it has become more crowded over the past few years. But it provides an oasis of hippie-​loving, local-​produce-​buying bliss every week. I moved to Seattle recently & NOTHING here holds a candle to the Beaverton Farmers Market.

I’ve been going several times each summer to Saturday market here, but each year, it’s been getting worse and last Sat was my last trip — when there are so many farmers markets around the town, I don’t see why I have to put up with:
— parking: None. Period.
— crowd: it’s just too crowded that people are cranky and you can barely walk around without bumping into someone (if you can go at 8am when they open, I’m sure it’s not that bad, but I can’t make it there until after 11am. yeah…)
— layout: they used to have a vendor map on their website, so you can actually plan ahead, but that map is gone and I have to go round and round trying to find my fav vendors (most of them also go attend other markets, so yeah, I’m deciding to keep my sanity)

Always a pleasure to visit this market! There are so many great farmers in our neck-​o-​the-​woods who come together with wonderful selections~
I especially enjoyed Unger’s Strawberries~It was a first time to purchase a flat of berries at a street market, and was very pleased with the quality :)
Will definitely be going back before it comes to an end for the season!

Super crowded!
The selection was OK, but the site is a bit disorganized. I couldn’t find a trash can anywhere.
Vendors would be better served if similar vendors weren’t all bunched together. Customers would be better served if the isles allowed for seeing the whole market without backtracking through the crowd several times.
Parking is non-​existent, but people don’t seem to realize this so the traffic is crazy while drivers go round and round looking for a place to park. It would make more sense for businesses that are closed to allow their lots to be used, or for the library to permit market parking. Even some nearby paid parking would work.
My visit today was disappointing because the kettle corn vendor didn’t have fresh kettle corn. Just the same bags you can buy at the store. I don’t understand this at all, because it’s the smell of the kettle corn that draws buyers.
The port-​a-​pots were much appreciated and as clean as an area of that sort could be. The line wasn’t long, and they had hand wash stations and paper towels.
It took me five years to fulfill my plan to visit this market, but I really doubt I will try it again.

Such a great find! I cannot believe all the times I came to visit the family I didn’t know this was just literally a few blocks away. Cray Cray!
Lot’s of people, food, crafts, wine, liquor made local, coffee, organics, ‘live’ music in the green span. Located not far from the Beaverton Library.
Next time I’m in town, I’m coming here for breakfast. I saw some of the waffles with toppings. I was so full from eating elsewhere, I just couldn’t order it. Next visit is a different story.
If you’re down in Portland and I know of the other markets, make sure to visit this one. It’s pretty big for a farmers market.

Our family loves coming to this market and we do so every Saturday! There’s a great variety of vendors and I love the relationships we’ve built with them. My favorite is Decadent Creations which is out of Beaverton. They make phenomenal baked goods and are reasonably priced. The market is right next to the park which is great for our daughter and in the summer they have a fountain that she loves. It’s a great sized market-​not too overwhelming. I highly recommend this market!

My favorite all time Farmers Market which I’ve been going to for 12 years! While many debate on whether the Portland Farmers Market or the Beaverton Farmers Market is bigger or better… in my mind, there is no doubt that this is the best. Long before the Portland Farmers Market banned pet creatures from visiting, the Beaverton Farmers Market has always maintained a clean food-​safe environment (no offense to pet owners).
This market hosts some of my favorite vendors for ribs, milk, tamales, kettle corn and of course, the flowering plants and vegetables starts.
The market has grown the in the last 12 years. there’s a lot more ready-​to-​eat food vendors now, and they’ve even added a little strip of artisan crafts on the side. I’ve been to many, many farmers market in different Oregon and California and absolutely none are comparable to this farmers market in terms of market freshness and the vibrancy.

Beaverton’s Farmers Marker is HUGE, definitely the biggest one I’ve ever been to! There were so many things to look at from fresh produce to various trinkets. Everybody was extremely friendly and there were so many yummy samples to try. Parking was very easy to find since there were designated parking lots as well as ample street parking.

Anyone who knows me can attest to my love of sleep. I love to sleep and I especially love sleeping in on the weekends. The Beaverton Farmers Market, however, will be one of the few reason I will rise before 9am and venture outside. I love the farmers market and the Beaverton Farmers Market is one of the larger ones.
I like to go early and so does everyone else. Every time I come here, I end up spending more than I think I would. It’s worth every penny though. It is also a good idea to bring along a little wagon of sorts to hold your things because the arms get tired holding a flat of mixed berries and juggling two bags full of produce and fresh meats while trying not to squish the bread.
A nice, bustling farmers market fills me with happiness and appreciate life. Especially when it is a nice, lovely day with blue skies, free samples, and homemade pastries. Another thing about the farmers market… the food. It doesn’t matter that it’s barely 9am, I am going to order some food to go because I have to and it smells dang good.

I’ve been checking out all the Portland-​area farmer’s markets, and I think I found my favorite! This market has a broad selection of vendors covering both fruits and veggies (and some of the best selections I’ve seen as well), gourmet foods such as sausages, cheeses, nuts, candy, and baked goods, plants, a row of non-​food vendors, AND a great set of ready-​to-​eat food vendors!
Best finds: Quinn’s Crab Cakes. Oh. My. God. These are so amazing — light and crunchy and mostly all fresh crabmeat (as opposed to filler stuff). And I also found Bleu Diamond Dressing — an amazingly delicious blue cheese dressing/​spread.
It’s pretty crowded, and parking is pretty hard to find, but other than that, this market has it all, in my opinion. Most vendors only take cash, but they do allow you to buy tokens w/​credit or debit that the vendors accept.
I’m impressed by the variety of vendors, and the overall reasonable prices (for most things). Yeah, it’s kind of a drive for me, but I’ve enjoyed my visits and like getting the freshest produce from local farmers & vendors.

BOTTOM LINE: Woohoo Plus! Such a fantabulous Farmers Market that I don’t know where to start.
My hubby and I are Farmers Market junkies and visit them all over the country. Of the many we’ve visited, this has to be in the top tier of Markets for variety, for vibe and for «all are welcome here» accessibility.
We wish we could clone the marvelous Beaverton Marketmaster and staff to put the lackluster downtown Farmers Market in our home community into top gear.
Shopping at the Beaverton market is a delight. Go! You’ll be glad you did.
PRIDE OF COMMUNITY SHOWS: The passion Marketmaster Ginger Rappaport demonstrates for making this market come alive as a community resource where those who grow the food and make the food are connected to nourish the people who shop at the market and consume the products is evident. The entire market staff clearly loves what they do and it shows. This kind of market helps make Farmers /​Food Artisans and Shoppers all the better for participating. The very essence of what Farmers Markets are all about.
Much is made, and rightly so, of Portland’s wonderful farmers markets. Especially the one at the parks blocks at PSU on Saturday mornings. I love that market too. But after my recent visit to the incredible Saturday morning market in downtown Beaverton, an updated lyric to an old Rod Stewart song comes to mind; «…the Portland Market has got nuthin’ on you…»
VARIETY & QUALITY OF PRODUCTS MAKE THIS MARKET POPULAR: The Beaverton Saturday Farmers Market opens early — 8:00 a.m. We arrived about 8:15 and were already finding parking at a premium. By the time we left around 9:45 that was even more true as shoppers streamed in.
There’s a reason for the market popularity. It is well laid out and chock full of farmers and artisan food producers selling top notch products. On our visit that included but wasn’t limited to incredible peppers, artichokes, lettuce greens, garlic, blackberries, peaches (incredible peaches actually), goat cheese, berry pies that were still warm from their ovens, multiple varities of fresh garlic, organic pure cranberry juice and gelato. (Highly recommend Alotto Gelato’s salted caramel gelato for breakfast by the way.)
The aroma of roasting peppers filled the air as a couple of guys turned the charring peppers in a big drum and then offered their work product for sale. The sound of the band playing sweet music, even as early as 8:30, drifted in. Farmers and food vendors had samples to offer and information to share about what they produced.
NEAT FEATURE — MARKET PURCHASE LOADING ZONES: We didn’t want to leave, but our market bags were full and we had another market to visit that morning. Had we wanted to park our purchases to listen to the band out by the adjacent park water feature, shop some more and come back and pick up our purchases later, this market has a couple of locations where we could have done just that. A couple of purchase «valet booths» as it were, near the accessible parking location and staffed by volunteers where you can leave your purchases for drive up and pick up later. How convenient! Encourages shoppers to purchase more, like the whole case of Baird peaches, with a convenient place to leave them without having to hike to the car and hike back to shop some more.
EQUAL ACCESSIBILITY: For Yeeps and other Peeps who use wheelchairs or canes or walkers, and for the people who shop with them, the accessibility here for shoppers of all physical abilities is some of the best I’ve seen at any of the many markets my hubby and I have visited all across the country. Good access is as useful for parents pushing strollers or shoppers pulling market carts as it is essential for shoppers with mobilty disabilities. (Including me as I have MS.)
Parking may be the hitch in this giddeyup. Because while the market offers an astounding 40 or so accessible parking spaces, all being used which is a good thing, I didn’t see any evidence of spaces with the striped access aisle that would allow a vehicle user to deploy a wheelchair ramp. If you need that kind of parking, you may want to get in touch with the Market staff to see if they know something about parking that I didn’t see.
