Food was okay, however the young guy Ray had terrible customer service, definitely not a people person, saying what’s up! What can I get you is not a way to talk to customers!

Jusr finished an unexpectedly tasty chicken teri — chicken and vegetables were perfect, although just a bit too much oil and salt for my taste. But i was pleasantly surprised that they actually browned the chicken to just a hint of a crust … much nicer than the usual teriyaki place It’s been a few years since i ate here last. We were frequent customers since my kids used to beg to come, but we had a few marginal experiences and quit coming. I am glad to see that it has improved. The décor is still nondescript and the counter staff seem a bit hapless, but the place was half full and the other tables all seemed to be in a good mood.

I’m always on the lookout for teriyaki places that I haven’t tried before, so while I was in Beaverton tonight and looking for a quick dinner, I stopped in at Best Teriyaki. Their name, «Best Teriyaki», shows self confidence in how good their food is. Well, I would find out if the name fits. It’s a big place with a spacious dining area. I got a friendly greeting from the man at the front counter who also alerted me that they were out of short ribs for the night. No sweat, since I wanted to order teriyaki chicken anyway. My order came with white rice and cooked vegetables. The chicken was pretty good.. .large tender pieces with grill marks. I like to emphasize that the chicken was tender, as opposed to unpleasantly«chewy» like at some other places. The teriyaki sauce was thick and adhered to the food, which I like.(I don’t like the thin and watery type of sauce that runs off directly to the bottom of the plate.) I noticed that the extra squeeze bottle of sauce that I got was heated.. .the extra sauce being warm was a nice touch. To me, the big disappointment was that the vegetables were almost entirely cabbage. There were a few strands of shredded carrots and one tiny bit of broccoli, but I didn’t really like the taste of all that cabbage.. .putting teriyaki sauce on it helped though. Anyway, so maybe this place isn’t the«best», but it’s good enough for a quick meal if I happen to be in the area.

Well this is the last time we don’t check reviews :( We were encouraged by the amount of ppl that were inside. So stupid of us. The employee guy that’s running the cashier when we went in kept calling my husband ‘buddy’ which by itself is just a weird thing to call anybody. but along with the dry tone made it really really weird. Then he did a once over on me. Felt gross. We got the chicken teriyaki plates, because this is the best teriyaki right? No. No. No. No. I don’t regret stuff but I do regret this. It tasted weird and I couldn’t finish it despite being really hungry when I came. 1 stars for the amount of food vs price. Wish I could give no stars for everything else. Do yourself a favor and go to kokyo off Cornell. Now I’m going to go home and hope I don’t get food poisoning.

Employee Rudy was extremely rude and did not know his menu. Would not check with the cook to find out what the dish was seasoned with. Do not go here!!!

Far from the best teriyaki. My beef and chicken were over cooked and swimming in overly saltly«teriyaki» sauce that was more than likely poured straight out of a kikoman bottle. Not recommended. Probably wont be back unless i want a salt overdose.

At least the food came out fast, both times.

I had a combo plate so was able to try teriyaki chicken, deep fried pork and shrimp, cabbage and rice. All very disappointing. chicken dry and not marinated through. Breading was tasteless and doughy. I’m wondering how you mess up rice. Again tasteless and uninspiring. Cabbage over cooked and bland. I wasnt even able to enjoy the teriyaki sauce. Should be named worst teriyaki or at best, mediocre. Go elsewhere.

If I had seen the other reviews I wouldn’t have even attempted to eat here. As soon as we walked in I wanted to run out, but I awkwardly locked eyes with the guy at the counter, and felt there was no going back. The food didn’t taste horrible, but it was definitely pretty sketchy. The veggies had a weird taste and the chicken wasn’t hot. Couldn’t get through all the food and am glad I didn’t.

If you can find nastier teriyaki anywhere in the world it would be an accomplishment. The«meat» was clearly boiled then lightly touched on a grill to make it look teriyaki like. Sauce on the beef was rancid and slimey, chicken rough and chewy. Veggies had too much black pepper. I kept having to spit out grissly pieces of meat. Disgusting. Shut this place down.

The food was hot and fresh, but not something I’d go back for. The menu display on the wall was so washed out it was hard to see what was being offered. The staff were pleasant and the restaurant seemed clean. The orange chicken was breaded within an inch of it’s life and that was about all I could taste of it. The«vegetables» were cabbage and carrot, shredded and stir fried in something that turned the whole concoction yellow.

Chicken was too hard. Took 15 minutes for fried rice, yakisoba and chicken teriyaki. Would I go back? Yes because it is relatively cheap and they give a lot. It’s just one of those places where you love to hate but you eat it because it is close, cheap and filling. My confessions.

The teriyaki here is good but definitely not the BEST. I always get the chicken and beef teriyaki plate with white rice. Between my boyfriend and I, our dinner comes out to about $ 16 not to bad. I would give this place a higher rating if their staff was actually pleasant. There’s a teenage chick that does the orders a lot of the time and has such an attitude. We always order to go. The wait isn’t very long which is nice because it’s always packed here and kids everywhere.

Cleanliness: The bathroom looked like a disaster hit it. Toilet paper and paper towels on the floor along two walls and on the sink. Only two of the four light bulbs were working above the sink, the only source of light, so it was very dim. I’m guessing that’s intentional so you don’t notice the dirty walls and floor. I made the mistake of glancing up at the ceiling and there are mysterious white globs and bits of things stuck up there. Luckily nothing fell on me. Soap dispenser was empty and the paper towel dispenser requires you to turn the little knob on the side. Yuck. The dining area carpet was stained and dirty. I’d hate to see what the kitchen looks like. Service: Guy behind the counter was very friendly. They seemed to have a lot of people in the kitchen and they weren’t very busy so you’d think they could assign someone to cleaning duty. Food: My friends said the udon soup and beef teriyaki were okay. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken/shrimp combo. There was nothing remotely asian in the flavor. It tasted like Diablo Pollo/Camarones with some peanuts thrown in. Not bad, just not anything remotely resembling kung pao.

I hate writing negative reviews. However, this place was seriously a disaster. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. It had some chicken, a large amount of slightly cooked cabbage and white rice. The chicken was mostly chewy, the flavor of the teriyaki didn’t make up for that. I am not a fan of cabbage, though I do occasionally eat it when prepared well, but this was just wilted and tasted mostly of sesame oil.

Tried this spot at lunch today. With a name like«BEST» you would think the signature namesake teriyaki would be great. Sadly, I was unimpressed. I could be biased growing up in Hawaii and having all kinds of great teriyaki. But I’m sorry, it’s not that good. Plenty of seating, the place is clean. Service was fast, and you can find a couple of things kids may eat. The prices are a bit high for what it is in my opinion. It’s wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t good. I would choose Panda Express over this place next time. Sorry guys, it just wasn’t for me. :(

It makes me quite hesitant when I didn’t see any Asians in the kitchen or at counter. It’s like running a Chinese restaurant without any Asian(let alone Chinese) staff. The fluorescent signage featuring their menu was dated. The colors in the semi-glowing sign looked very faded, clearly many years old. The clerk at the counter did not want to carry a conversation at all; just wanted to take my order. The opted for the lunch special — teriyaki chicken, sweet & sour chicken, with a side of white rice and vegetables, and a fountain drink for $ 7.25. The teriyaki chicken tasted mediocre alongside with the white rice. It was simply average, not terrible but far from being uniquely favored or amazing. The sweet & sour chicken was too crunchy and flavorless, while the accompanying sweet & sour sauce was bland. I didn’t touch the mixed vegetables are was it far from appeasing. I was hungry for lunch, and it satisfied that appetite. However, I don’t plan on returning here anytime soon. I understand Best Teriyaki is a franchise and quality varies by location — this one is on the bottom of the list.

Large portion of yakisoba, unfortunately it’s not very good so it just ended up being a large portion of leftover going in the trash. Chicken was way overcooked, tough & stringy, sauce was too sweet, shredded carrots were stuck together in clumps(I don’t even know how they did that) That was my first & last visit.

I would give this place negative stars, if possible. Kinda ironic, but I walked out of this place saying, «It should be called Worst Teriyaki.» If you’re tempted for teriyaki and you’re about to walk through these doors… just say no.
